- Q: I found an old Karavan flatbed utility trailer and am currently converting it into a snowmobile trailer (2 place). Me and a friend riped all the wire off of the trailer and completely rewired it. No matter how we configure it, the lights aren't coordinated. If we hit the left blinker in the car, all the lights flash(like the hazards are on). Right blinker works fine. we wired it first from the diagram on the karavan site. Now once we think about it, they have us wiring the ground into the light. so we searched the web and found this layout.
- well first you didnt say what type of plug your going to use, looked at your website and everything looks good there. your next step should be to check the tow vehicle, just to be sure it is wired right
- Q: I want to connect one of my rear sony speakers along the baseboard to my receiver. The specs say that the wire comes with 4 terminal blocks, with 4 connections on each terminal. My question is what will connect to what? Will the speaker attach the the flat wire cable that will attach to the original speaker cable which will connect to the receiver? It will be much appreciated.
- You will end up using a combination of regular speaker wire and the flat wire. Run the flat wire along the baseboard. The ends of the flat wire should go as close to the receiver and speakers as it will reach. Attach the terminal blocks to the flat wire. Connect the receiver's right and left rear speaker outputs to the terminal block at the receiver end of the flat cable using two short lengths of two conductor speaker wire. Then do the same thing at the speaker end of the flat wire. Since the flat wire cannot connect directly to the receiver or speakers, you need to use regular speaker wire to connect the flat wire to the equipment at each end. Since the flat wire is four conductors, it can carry both the right and left rear speaker signal at the same time.
- Q: lime wire
- At okorder Hope it can help you.
- Q: My renter took apart a timer that was hooked to a ceiling fan because the timer was clicking loudly. Now, I just want to simply install a normal on/off switch in it's place. There are two sets of wires coming into the box. One set has a red, white, and black wire coming from it. The other set has just a white and black wire coming into the box. I'm sure this is relatively simple for someone who has wiring expertise. How do I wire a normal light switch to these wires?!?!
- The set of black and white wires are coming from your breaker box (supply). The Black, white and red wires are leading to your ceiling fan (demand). This next part depends on how your fan is wired up. You will want to check first. USUALLY, the red wire controls the fan only, while the black wire supplies power to the light kit, but it could be reversed. This is the part that you want to check. The red wire may also be capped off in the ceiling box and only exists if the user wants separate fan/light control in the future. Assuming that the red wire is capped off: 1.) Turn off the breaker supplying the circuit you are working on. 2.) Use a wire nut to twist the white wires together. 3.) Use a second wire nut to cap off the red wire. 4.) Wrap the black [supply] wire clockwise around the bottom screw on your new switch and tighten.. 5.) Wrap the black [demand] wire clockwise around the top screw on your new switch and tighten. 6.) Attach the new switch to the wall box while carefully tucking the wires in behind the switch. 7.) Install cover plate. 8.) Restore power to the circuit. It IS possible that the person who installed the ceiling fan used the red wire as the hot instead of the black. If this is the case, you can either rewire the ceiling fan's box accordingly (disconnecting the red wire and using the black instead) or substituting red instead of black in the instructions above. The red wire would then connect to the top screw terminal of your switch. If the red is connected to the light kit (if applicable) and the black is connected to the motor (or vise versa), disconnect the light kit and wire it along with the motor.
- Q: my rabbit is chewing wires and in one area in my room there are like 300 wires i was just wondering if i can spray something on the wires cause i thought i saw something that said that please help!!!!
- I agree with Astrid. My rabbit does not chew on wires, but she insist on grabbing the bars of her cage at 4am, and shaking the heck out of them, so before I go to bed I put bitter apple on the bars.
- Q: I have a minivan with a flat 5 pin wiring connecter at back. We bought an old utility trailer with no wiring. It has the two rear lights, one on each side with 2 wires sticking out of each. We got the flat 5 pin trailer connector to connect to the van and bought a long piece of cable which has the white, brown, green and yellow wires in it. Where do I connect what? I have the wire that connects to the van with the four colours and 2 wires coming out of each light for the trailer. Thanks!
- ok wiring 101 just think of the road yellow line left side =left hand signal. green grass right side of road = right hand signal. brown = leave the dirt behind =running lights .white ground your trailer is wired
- Q: Live wire- bring current to appliancesNeutral wire- returns the current from the applianceMy question is, if we are using AC current, then in the next half cycle, the live wire will return the current from the appliance and the neutral wire will bring current to appliances. Am I right? If I’m right, then both wires have the same function why give them different names? Really appreciate your help.
- Actually neutral wire remains at some constant voltage and change in direction of flow of current only occurs in live wire, the voltage live wire at any given time is measured wrt neutral wire, thus neural wire's only function is to provide a reference voltage as u may know voltage is relative, for example if ur home has 110V supply, the neutral wire will remain at some constant voltage all time but live wires voltage will change from plus110V to minus 110V very rapidly depending on frequency of supply....
- Q: Will you please remove any of the wires? The edge of the body, which is made of wire or what? Is it copper or iron?
- There are only two kinds of wire in the wire, one is copper, and the other is aluminium.. If you peel it off and it's yellow, then it's copper wire. If it's silver, it's aluminium wire, except these two.
- Q: I bought a cheap amp wiring kit so the ground wire is not the same size as the power wire but my friend gas me an extra piece of 8 gauge wire same as mine if i put both of these to on at the same time would it help out any? also he gave me some audio cable like the wires inside are twisted to gather the box says it gives you better sound quality would they make a difference in sound that the one's i have on there know? Thanks
- NO, you need to buy thicker wire because electricity follows the path of least resistance which means if one of the wires is 1/8 of an inch longer than the other, that is the wire the most electricity will flow through, as far as the speaker wire it wont make a difference unless it is thicker than what you already have installed (its very hard to tell the difference in sound quality even with very high quality speakers
- Q: ok so i wired the subs to the amp now, the positive (Red) goes to the battery, the ground (Black) is currently grounded to the metal under my drivers seat. My question is does it matter the color wire is that goes to the stereo? Can i use a red or black? Does it really matter? If not, where exactly would i hook it up behind my aftermarket sony headunit?
- ok man to answer your question NO , it does not matter what color the wire is. what DOES matter is that your using the same brand wire,(just because some 4 gauge wire is bigger than Other 4 gauge wire) and it MUST be the same gauge wire for positive and GROUND. You will also need to run the REMOTE TURN ON wire from the back of the headunit to the REM on the amp. (without this wire the amp does not know to turn on. Next thing is your RCA cables these will run from the back of the headunit to the input on the amplifier. Last thing (OBVIOUS) is the speaker wire both to wire the subs to the correct ohm load and to also run from the speaker terminal cup (if you have one in the sub box) to the amp. * Looking back i think i miss read the question, no the wire color does not matter, just make sure its the same size as the wire from the headunit (not bigger or smaller) so probably around 16-18 gauge wire, color does NOT matter.
