Q: okay i observed and found out my water pump is leaking from a hole in it. after doing research i am told this is where it usually is suppose to leak from. anyway i read instructions for my car(92 fwd celica) and they say people have to remove the fan or something. my pump is under my alternator so i dk what fan they speak of. the only fan i see is by my radiator. all i see is remove the alternator(did it before) and remove the pump. is this correct. help.: most cars have a fan. if your does not. then proceed.

Would there be any harm/benefit of putting this into a 55 gal fw community tank?: well it depends, do you have any small fish? and how is the water cycled in the pump? it needs to be protected so that fish dnt obviously get sucked. before you add it in tho need it submerged in a bucket of water and add several teaspoons of salt; that will kill all the bacteria that may have grown on and inside the pump. leave it in there for minimum 24 hours (just to be sure).

If they changed the water pump, they might have broken some debris or sealant that is clogging your heater intake hose or heater core. I would start with finding the intake and return hoes for the heater core and back flush the heater core. Did this to my old truck and the heater worked really good after that.
