Q:Would like to clean my light carpet and get it back to a good color! mostly heavy traffic areas w/ some little areas w/ some stains. How do you use simple green as a solution? anything better to use?: As for good cleaning solutions, I have found the Rug Doctor brand of carpet care products to work the best and be the most economical, particularly if you purchase them at a warehouse store in larger quantities.

Q:We want to store it under our house, but it can get dusty and being in Australia we deal wih extreme's in temperature, really hot to qutie cool. How do we prevent mould spiders gettting in there?: Hi I'd roll it up good and tight, tie it a few places so it stays really tightly rolled and then cover the ENTIRE thing in plastic --maybe 2 really large plastic bags from a mattress store or a moving store--even a rug store. OR a few tarps--tie it up again too. Once it's super duper tied up and plasticated (my word) --then you can leave it outside.

Q:How would you carpet your walls?: Almost regardless of where you live, whether renting or owning, you should keep in mind the ability to reverse this change. My recommendation is to mount the carpet to 1/4 plywood and then mount the plywood in sections to the walls with wood screws and dress washers. (a cosmetic washer that is more appealing to the eye.) Brass would be a nice touch. Use wall anchors (plastic will be fine) if installing over drywall. 1/4 plywood is affordable (underlayment will work) and this is quickly removable and by spackling the holes, completely reversable. The carpent can be stapled to the plywood and if not glued, even the plywood can someday be reused, if....you change your mind.

Q:i do not want a zebra print rug, i want wall to wall carpeting.i'm not sure where to buy it so please help!also how do you think it would look hot pink walls with the zebra carpet?: Carpeting isn't cheap, so when you have it installed wall-to-wall, you should make it so that it can transcend fads, trends, and personal taste periods. I understand your design concept and support it wholeheartedly. Having said that, I'd suggest getting carpeting in an off-white or black, then getting a zebra area rug. In a few years, if/when you're 'over' the zebra-ness of the room, you only have to replace an area rug and not a whole room of carpeting. Insofar as the pink, I'd use it as an accent color in the space. Pop it in with pillows, lamp shades, etc. Those are less expensive, too, to replace down the road.

Assume that you would leave a little space around the edges (maybe 6-12?). Go to carpet stores and ask about remnants in the size you need. They always have leftovers from carpeting jobs and are more than happy to sell them. Some may already be bound at the edge, others may need to be bound and you would have to pay for that. You can install a remnant by just rolling it out. You could add a pad underneath as well, but it is not necessary.
