- Q:I accidentally dropped my red nail polish on to my carpet... i tried using windex - it faded it a little bit- but i can still see it! anything else i can try? and i am going to have a carpet cleaner person come and clean my carpets so will they be able to get it all out? and could there be a reaction from mixing the windex with the carpet cleaner? If you want to do three bedrooms why not include the hall as well Measure your rooms to get the square footage legnthx width. You can gestimate from the newspaper. This is the most user friendly way to do it.
- Q:A bottle of gorilla glue spilt on the carpet (the kind that dries white) I can't get it off without tearing the carpet up...and I live in an apartment. Do I have to rip the carpet out or is there a way of getting it off. If I have to rip the carpet out how do I replace that patch?
- Unfortunately Gorilla Glue is a polymer and bonds with nylon carpet fibers. You'll have to cut out a patch of the carpet and replace it. Good luck finding a piece to match unless you take a piece from a closet. If you do that cut the damaged piece out first and lay ti over the replacement piece and CAREFULLY cut an identical patch. Tape in and glue the patch with carpet tape and adhesive. Make sure the pile and pattern match. Good luck.

- A rough estimate is approximately $1500.00. There are however many different brands of carpet. Whatever brand you choose, you'll want a good quality carpet padding. Also you did not state if you are going to need old carpet removed. If you do, this is an added cost. Are you installing the carpet yourself. Not recommended if you have not done this before. This is also an added cost if you'll need it installed. The best of luck to you! It's fun to redecorate, if only it weren't so darn expensive!!!

- Scrape away as much wax as you can. Place a sheet of butcher paper, glossy side up, or a portion of a brown paper bag on top of the wax. Press the tip of a warm iron gently over the affected area until the wax melts and attaches to the paper. Lift the paper from the carpet. Dab a small amount of denatured alcohol onto the stain if any candle dye is left on the carpet. Sponge with water.

And they will stand outside in the rain, even when there is a storm. But as soon there is a Little bit of sun and there are flies they stand in the stable. My question is, can this possibly be repaired by cutting a portion out and just patching it with matching carpet? I know that the right people can make the seam pretty unnoticeable. Or, do you think they'll make us pay to replace the whole carpet?
- The short answer is that yes, carpet can be patched, and if matching material is available it can be patched almost invisibly. The question is how long will you be in this apartment. If you are there for say... five years, your liability for the carpet will be very small as it will be about done anyway. If you moved in to brand-new carpet and are there for only about a year, it is quite reasonable for the LL to require you to replace the entire damaged area. From a property manager's perspective, we require fairly substantial pet-deposits for exactly this purpose - but because we have the deposit we are are fairly relaxed about this type of damage allowing the tenant a good deal of leeway in how they choose to deal with it. Most sorts of cosmetic damage would be addressed at any turn-over anyway. Odors, on the other hand, are an entirely different issue.
