Q: I have never had to deal with this and I am probably worrying about nothing but every time I run water, even for a second, the pump starts clicking on and off. Is it supposed to do it with every little thing? Every time the toilet flushes, or the water gets turned on to wash hands it goes off and keeps constantly going off until the water is shut off. Is this what it's supposed to do?
Jadee is correct. Your pump is waterlogged. This is a condition where all the compressable air has mixed with the water in the tank and the tank is full of water clear to the top, not allowing for any compression, which is where you get the pressure to push the water out when you open a fixture. When you open a fixture, regardless of which one, the pump senses a drop in pressure immediately and starts up. As soon as you close the fixture, the pump, which is now pumping water into the tank, senses the pressure coming quickly to where it needs to be and shuts off. There needs to be air in the top of the tank to compress in order for the system to function. If you have a bladder tank, (usually a green or blue tank with an indented seam around the middle of it), then most likely the bladder that's in the middle of the tank to keep the air and water apart so they don't mix, has ruptured and is now allowing the very thing to happen that it was designed to stop. You can drain the system of pressure and most of the water by turning off the pump and repressurizing the tank thru the air nozzle on top or the top side. Open a couple fixtures and allow the water to escape as you put pressure into the tank, until you get air and the water quits. Then turn off the fixtures, turn the pump back on and let it pump up. That will give you an air cushion on top of the tank and will let you use the system till you can decide whether you want to replace the tank or just use it as a convential resevoir system of old, (before bladder tanks). The procedure to restore the system to functionality is the same if it's an older tank without a bladder, only you may have a drain spigot on that type of a tank that will allow for gravity drainage of the water, instead of pressurization. It's not an uncommon occurance for those of us on older wells that don't have bladder tanks. We have to drain and restart ours about once every year or two, depending on how much time the grandkids spend here.
Q: ok some one put sugar in my gas tank i had to replace my fuel pump and now i have sludge that's eating th inside of my radiator hoses and my water pump went and of course that's timing driven and my timing belt is awful tight i cant put a finger in between it ....and my car is not car water so i cant drive it and i don't have money to blow to take it to a shop any help u can offer will help and i know i am going to replace my water pump and info for when i do that will help and answers to the sludge (its like a Vaseline) and how to find out if its in my motor or my brand new radiator ? me plz i am a 18 yr old girl with knowledge about cars and have friends to help me and my mom so any helpp will help and is better then none
Correct okorder /.... Sugar in the tank, is a MYTH. The problem you have, is NOT due to someone putting sugar in the tank. Secondly, your fuel system doesn't connect at all to your radiator. So, replacing a fuel pump has nothing to do with sludge in your coolant. So, is the sludge in the coolant, or the fuel? Because honestly, your question makes no sense right now. Edit: I didn't correct your spelling. I corrected the fact that you are incorrect about sugar in the tank doing anything. IF anything, it would have clogged your fuel filter. Not your fuel pump. Q: it's not doing anything. about a month ago, i changed the pressure switch because it the water just suddenly stopped (like now), and after changing it, it worked again. I did noticed that after changing the pressure switch, it was tripping a lot (the pressure switch). when the water pump stopped again (this time), i went a bought another pressure switch thinking that it was the same problem, but this time it didn't solve the problem. Came to find out later, that the pressure switch that i had changed about a month ago, it was wired incorrectly - maybe that's why it was tripping a lot? so i did wired this one correctly, but still didn't work. Did i burned the pump? another note here is that it has been less than a year that i changed the water pump. My question is, what could the problem be this time? did i burned the pump because i wired the pressure switch incorrectly? any suggestion, please email me thanks!
what the hell are you working on?? Need just a little more input

Q: I have a small stream by my backyard where my garden is and I want to use that water so I will need a pump with a hose attachment. What kind of water pump will I need to get for this?
As the water may contain foreign matter like sand, weeds , organics of other types you need a pump with a centrifugal impeller. depend on the height of lift, volume of flow and the head pressure needed to overcome friction loss will determine the size needed . A small sump pump type unit may work but they need to be immersed fully for cooling the motor.
Q: $900 for a 96 neon but she says the water pump needs replaced.how much does it cost usually? is it even worth buying?
While it is all apart the timing belt and tensioner should be replaced. It will cost several hundred to have it done. Neons don't get much older the 96, I would pay more like $500 for it. Make sure the head gasket is not leaking.
Q: My Camry is overheating and I am assuming it is the water pump. I already changed the thermostat and that was no help. When I turn the heater on to cool off the engine, it blows cold air or the temp of the air outside most of the time and seldomly hot air. I bought a water pump, but I am not sure if this is something I can do?

Q: Is a 3000 watt generator sufficient to power a 3/4 horsepower water pump?My house has a 3/4 horsepower pump that it uses to pump water from the well to the house. I want to purchase a generator that will be sufficient to power this pump in a power outage. Is 3000 Watts sufficient?
1 hp is 746 watts; however start up and power factors need to be considered. A 0.75 hp motor at steady state draws 560 watts at steady state; to overcome start up assume you will need about 1,100 watts (1.1 KW). Your generator is 3 KW so it should do well.
Q: I have a '97 Chevy S-10 2.2 with 208K miles. Today on the way to work the heat cut out suddenly.I have had an issue with my engine where the temp will go up and down while on the highway but maxes out at like 215. Today after the heat cut out it was getting up near the redline before going back down to 150.I made sure the coolant was good before coming home but on the way home it was doing the same thing. I changed the thermostat but it's still doing the same thing. When I rev the engine I can see the upper radiator hose collapsing so it seems like there's a clog somewhere but I don't know how to find it. I guess it could be the water pump but then what is causing the suction on the upper radiator hose?Anyone have any ideas?
doesnt sound like water pump you may have lost a heater core thats what it sounds like to me its getting vacuum and temp is jumping but you dont have heat sounds like it to me check that next but as with the other selection check if your thermostat is in wrong
