Pump & Vacuum Equipment/Water Pump/Deep Well&Borehole Submersible pump
Q: The water pump needs to be able to pull up water roughly 8+ feet. Ideally the system should include a filter to eliminate the presence of jellyfish. I need the most cost efficient solar panels with wattage provided. The battery used would be something similar to a deep cycle marine battery. Additionally I must figure out the amphours. Does anyone know where I can look up previously constructed systems or my best method of approach. Whom should I seek help from? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The price range we're looking at is around $1000.
Dude okorder / You can visit them there, its got more info, i recommend call them and talk to a specialist. Good luck with the sweet aquarium!
Q: how do you check the water pump? We started the engine with water running through the bunny ears and no water is running out.
Visually is the only way to check it. The water pump is located at the top of the lower unit. The lower unit has to come off to access the water pump. It's a fairly basic project for an enthusiastic DIYer with basic tools and a service manual. Once the L/U comes off, might as well install a new impeller, given the time effort to drop the L/U, not much sense re-installing a used one. first, remove the cowl and check the tell-tale outlet for a blockage.
Q: Van died on the road. It wants to turn over, but it won't start. I had it towed to Firestone. They're telling me that it needs a whole list of stuff. I ask them, quot; What does it need to just get it running? They say, quot;A new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and coolant flush.quot; If the timing belt is indeed broken, I know that it will need to be replaced. And, probably the water pump, too. But, what is the importance of the thermostat and coolant flush? Will the car not run if I don't have a thermostat? Can't I just put Engine Coolant in and not have to quot;flushwhatever is supposed to be flushed?Thank you in advance for your help.
when replacing the water pump yes you do have to drain the coolant and fill again (might as well get a flush) but replacing the thermostat could be optional unless of course its faulty and/or you never replaced the coolant when you're supposed to. ask your fellow technician if the thermostat can be still used. what mileage does the van have? if you're exceeding the limit of 100K w/o proper maintenance then you'll due to replace all and service all.
Q: How do I change the water pump in my 1998 ford mustang manual v6?
If you don't already know how to do it, then take it to a shop to have it done by the professionals. If you insist on trying it yourself, buy a Chilton's manual for your car, do some online research (with pictures), and buckle down. You will need to loosen the belts, remove the belts, remove the water pump, replace it, and reinstall everything. You will need to make sure that the belt is routed the correct way, or BOOM! You might also want to replace the timing belt while you're in there. It makes sense to replace it if you already are removing it, and the timing belt is something you can't afford to have go bad on you.
Q: For a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up. Not taking it to a mechanic.Already got the new pump. Got part of the engine off.Dont exactly have the right tools to make the job go fast but would like some tips on how to make it go faster..
Honestly having the Chilton or Hayes repair manual will help greatly in understanding how it should all come apart. They run about $25.00 at you auto parts store. Having the proper tools will make the job go as smooth and quickly as possible. Most basic kits and be picked up at auto part stores for around 65.00 bucks. This is the best advice I can give a beginner who has just jumped right in there. Watch what you are taking apart and make sure that it is something that HAS to come off. There is no reason taking something out of the car if it's not going to help the project. When you picked up the water pump did you make sure to get too new radiator hoses? I will often replace the upper and lower hose when I do water pumps. Most likely they have been on there as long as the pump and it's time to change them. Not to mention now would be a great time to replace the thermostat on the engine as well to allow proper water flow through the engine. Also make sure you have the distilled water handy with the anti-freeze. Using distilled water keeps the radiator from becoming clogged with minerals that are normally found in your city water. It helps extend the life of your cooling system. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to E-mail me.
Q: how often do i need to change a timing belt and water pump on my car? also, how much should it cost? should i have it done at the dealers or at a small mechanic shop if i chose to? which would be best? what are steps when having timing belt change?
If it's Japanese, every 90,000 miles. If American, every 60,000 miles. Just recently changed belt and water pump on my Honda for $400 at an independent. Dealer is more expensive.
Q: We have a 3-story (including ground floor) house. We have 2 bathrooms. We need to invest in a water pump to deliver water from ground floor to all floors + 2 reservoir tanks (one located on first floor, and the second tank located on the second floor).Which water pump do you recommend among these:(1) Valco 261PL or Valco 261PT(2) Davey HS50-05TI'd be MOST grateful if you could kindly advice me on any reliable brand that you know (apart the ones that I mentioned). We're basically looking for a very reliable pump up to around $700 (preferably less).BTW, according to you, what's the typical horsepower we should be looking for? Will 1hp suffice??Thank you very much!
I've never heard of those brands, but your TDH is going to be approximately 25 feet (ground to middle of the 3rd floor) plus 92' for pressure (40 psi). Ad at least 5' clearance head and that's 122' TDH. That's also 53 psi, meaning you'll want a pump that with an on-off of 40-60 psi. A centrifugal pump will do that. You'll probably want a minimum of 5-6 gpm. See if you can find a pump curve for the pumps in question and follow the vertical and horizontal lines on the chart and see if it will produce 6 gpm (or whatever volume you want) @ 60psi. Keep in mind that you can compensate for a pump that's a bit shy in volume with a larger pressure tank. Chances are most 3/4hp pumps will do what you need. If you don't have a pressure tank already or don't want to plumb a separate tank to the pump, look for a pump/tank combo. Then all you will have to do is plumb an intake and outlet line. A very good and very reliable American made pump like a Meyers should be way less than $700. The pump itself will probably be half that and a separate pressure tank approximately $175. Steer clear of Chinese made pumps. They may be ok, but finding parts like seals can be nearly impossible. Spending a couple of hundred extra dollars for an American pump will be money well spent when it's still running trouble free 10-25 years later.
Q: I have a cabin cruiser and I recently took it out of storage and had it de winterized. Now everything seems to work except for the fresh water pump for the sink, shower and toilet. Does this type of pump need to be primed? If so how do you prime it? Thank you for the help.
Try hooking a solid 12 volts directly to the pump to 'jump start' the pump.. That got mine started... As mentioned in another post, these pumps are disposable items.. Good luck...
Q: Bought a new water pump for my turtle tank can't get it to work
hi, I advise you drain the pond/inventory tank and positioned a trough hull installation to allow you to hook up a valve for prompt draining. I used a a million one on my 3 hundred gallon inventory tank and it will drain in below 5 min. otherwise a submersible sump pump is the suited type to get they have a exhibit on the backside the place the %. up is to evade plugging you are able to could sparkling the prefilter exhibit periodically. You hook up a backyard hose and drop it in.
Q: Can the water from the fire pump enter the roof fire tank? Why?
Fire water pump water can not enter the roof, fire water tanks, "construction regulations" and "high regulations" clearly defined. The roof fire water tank acts as a temporary fire fighting water for 10 minutes, and the water in the fire pump is supplied directly to the indoor hydrant or sprinkler system. Roof water tank fire water can only be provided by the living pump.
