Q: Could I use red diesel in a diesel generator legally in the UK? Can I add vegetable oil to this and if so, in what ratio? Where are good sources of vegetable oil?: Red diesel is agricultural, no tax or tax reduced. The Red is only a dye to distinguish it from tax paid diesel. However using it illegally can result in very hefty fines if caught. Used and cleaned vegetable oil can be mixed with diesel, actual proportions I'm not sure of, but I think 3:1 oil to diesel. There are probably sites that explain in more detail. However why it has to be used veg. oil I don't know.

Q: im an helper mechanic and i ask my boss about it he didntgive me an answer so selfish of him !!!: Reverse power shutdown, can be caused by to low of a frequency or hertz setting,below 60hz., for example 30hz., or cycles.It also can be caused if several generators are on the same line, and one has a much lower output,It will shutdown or trip off on reverse power.Hope this helps

Q: have several question about diesel alternator. First of all i want build micro hydro system using diesel alternator. That means i just take the alternator and using water to rotate the turbine and the alternator will produce the power. Do you think this system is possible to do? Before this i use the car alternator, and the problem is before alternator connected to the battery i get about 3000 RPM, but when i connect the alternator to the battery and field current occur, the RPM dropped to 500 RPM. So the alternator can't produce the current. So i want try using diesel alternator. Since we know diesel alternator power output in AC, so no field current needed. If i get around 3000 RPM, whether diesel alternator produce the power? Or it same with car alternator.: I have always wanted to try to use hydroelectric power using a car alternator. I believe it can be done through the right ratio in a pulley system.

Q: I have a generator overseas and it has been giving me problems. It ran for 7 days, died due to over heat. fixed that prob, now it wont start, gives me a code 0097 01, water in fuel. but the sensor is good, wires read good. At a brick wall here.: I looked online and this company makes everything from small gas driven to large diesel driven. You say the code is for water in the fuel and if it's diesel water would ruin the injectors so it very well could not allow it to start for that reason. At a minion you need to tell us a little more. Did it shut its self down for the over heat or did it size and shut down? that is a good point to start with.

Q: hi i covered diesel motor with sheet metal and a guard needs to protect a person from accident.etchere is some info abt cover: it is ventilated. the box mounted securely over the motor. it has exposed belts it combustion(diesel engine) and it is located in cerro alto , guattemala, the voltage is 120v and its 12 hp and it is driving a corn grinding machine and its indoor.so help me plz thanks: Diesel exhaust can eliminate the oxygen in a room. Be sure the exhaust system doesn't leak into the room. Where is the intake coming from? Is there a separate duct for intake air or does the engine take air from the room. The exhaust pipe will be hot, and needs people protection. Exposed belts should have a guard so nothing can accidentally be caught or jammed into them. Is the cooling fan guarded or protected? Can the shut down switch/lever be quickly and easily operated. Is the fuel tank separate from the engine? Is there a fuel shutoff valve? Just some things to consider.

Q: here's the thing.Imagine that I have a generator that uses diesel as the fuel. then consider following two cases.Case 1 - using one 1kW bulb for one hourCase 2 - using ten 100W bulbs for one hourI know both cases consume a same amount of power that is 1kWH.but I THINK the demand (which is measured in kVA or just kW) is higher in the second case.
