It ran for 7 days, died due to over heat. fixed that prob, now it wont start, gives me a code 0097 01, water in fuel. but the sensor is good, wires read good. At a brick wall here.: I looked online and this company makes everything from small gas driven to large diesel driven. You say the code is for water in the fuel and if it's diesel water would ruin the injectors so it very well could not allow it to start for that reason. At a minion you need to tell us a little more. First define the generator output in terms of watts. Assume an efficiency of 0.8 for the generator and define the Input of the generator (In Out / 0.8). This is the output of your motor (assuming some diesel/petrol). Torque is expressed as N/m (force x radius) and is part of the electric generator specs. See there to get the equivalence. Note that the 'cooking oil' you speak of is not there to lubricate the engine: it's the fuel. The lubrication is provided by the motor oil in the crankcase, and I do hope you've changed yours lately.

I have a basic understanding of regular house generators and their working process. What I want to know is how such a generator can acquire power in a case of a complete electric blackout, is there a back up supply line? another power source? Surely to supply a large building such as a prison or a hospital one would need a large reserve of power. So the question is where does that power come from? Or are they completely autonomous? I have a natural gas line, and gas furnace, so I only use about 1500 watts at peak times, so I figure a 3k watt generator will more than cover my needs.SOUND is a huge factor. I have the worst neighbors in the world and I really need something quiet. I'm looking for something with less than 60 ddb.I have seen a lot of propane generators that look good, but I dont know if they can be used with natural gas easily. I think so, but would love to hear if thats true, and they dont have the standby plug feature, which I need to save my fish tank, any know if this can be easily changed by a skilled electrician?Thank you. The larger units for the power you want normally come in their own enclosure helping to keep noise under control. I've not see one designed for natural gas. No propane ones are not designed for natural gas. The engines have to be designed to handle it so you would need to converse with a place selling these to find out if such are available. If not contact the mfrs for information as to this conversion idea. The enhance quiet you can also build an enclosure around the generator which would limit sound travel from the unit.
