- Q: I live in a remote location and my power bill is just ridiculously expensive -- I did the math and it seems like it'll be way cheaper for me to use my solar panel (which currently supplies DC power to a few parts of the house) and a diesel/oil/propane generator (which I have yet to purchase), and just cut off all mains power.Question is, which of these configurations is better?1)-Solar panel-DC generator-Large battery bank-High-wattage inverterResult: AC power throughout the house, using both solar panel and generator to charge the batteries as needed2)-Solar panel-AC generator-Smaller battery bank (for solar panel only)-No inverterResult: AC power when generator running, DC power from solar panel and batteries (I use DC right now for lights and a few basic appliances so I can live without AC power)Or should I do a combination of both, like using an inverter for the solar panel to always provide AC power?Thanks.

- Q: If electric vehicles included a generator they could charge the battery while moving. It seems the best choice to me.
- A generator is not 100% efficient, so it takes more energy then it produces. In a gas-powered car, where the engine runs all the time when it's moving, there is extra energy available to power the generator that would just be wasted.
- Q: Hi. I'm thinking about getting a Kubota Diesel Generator. I have read in many places that the Kubota Diesel engine is the gold standard of Diesel engines. So I'm not worried about that. What i need to know is this, is the generator as a whole dependable? - Kubota diesel plants are being used more and more in industry, replacing some of the old standbys like Kohler, Perkins and even Caterpillar in lighter applications. I don't think you will regret buying a Kubota.

- Electricity would likely come from a generator, running on the same fuel which moves the ship. Diesel, bunker oil, or maybe coal. The bad of water pollution depends some on the kind of pollution. Mercury tends to concentrate as it moves up the food chain, until people who eat lots of fish become at risk for brain damage. Enough carbon dioxide in the water makes it more acid, which kills lots of things in the ocean and means less for people to eat. Lots of nitrogen (nitrates nitrites) may lead to overgrowth of plants, which then die and make a dead zone where not much of anything lives. Besides dead oceans not making any fish to eat, there is the possibility that a large part of the world will not be capturing carbon dioxide, which would increase global climate change (the greenhouse effect)

- Their should be different generators out there for different engine types. Try to search the term HFI on the net. --As they are often called hydrogen fuel injection systems - Though HFI's do not make pure hydrogen --as they are often confused to do--, the generators often hook up to the battery and use some battery power to run a small machine, which then converts water (H2O) into browns gas(HHO) by rearranging the molecules via electrolysis. The systems that I have seen usually inject the browns gas (HHO-- which has more energy per unit mass) with a mixture of fuel which then is combusted much more efficiently as a mixture than gasoline or diesel fuel alone (which have more energy per unit volume)
