Q: When replacing the water pump in a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. Old one is loose, I'm about to lower the engine a little to get the water pump out. Before putting the new one on, do I have to do anything with the timing belt/chain?
Depends on the engine size . If the pump is driven by the timing belt then yes , if the pump is driven by the serpentine belt then no .

Q: I've got a 1997 Ford Probe, taken it to a couple different places; whenever I drive my vehicle, it tends to want to overheat. I don't drive it to the point where it does though, I know that could cause more damage! I've noticed that when I go out to my car in the morning, there's some coolant on the ground by the front passenger's tire. Before I drive it I fill it with coolant, as to try to keep it from overheating while driving.I've been told that it's the water pump leaking from 2 people but then the last person said there's no leakage. I'm wondering if it might be something else? Maybe a thermostat, a hose, maybe? How would I figure this out???
Power wash the engine bay. THen drive the car over a quicky lube pit and pay the attendant $5 to examine the car from underneath. He should be able to tell. Is this the 3.0 liter engine?? Use only genuine Ford coolant in it! Also, power wash the space between the radiator and the A/C condenser
Q: Having a hard time taking out the water pump on my 2004 Grand Am. it's been leaking anti-freeze for some time and finally had the time to fix it. Didn't know it will be so difficult to take out. So hopefully it won't be so difficult to put back up.
You did not say if you have a 4 cylinder or a 6 cylinder. The 6 is really easy so I will assume you have a 4.If equipped with an automatic transmission, remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Removal in Engine Mechanical - 2.2L (L61). Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling . Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End. Remove the access plate on the water pump sprocket from the timing cover. Install J 43651 to the water pump sprocket. Use the access plate bolts to secure J 43651 to the engine front cover. Remove the bolts that secure the sprocket to the water pump. Remove the bolt (1) that secures the engine block to the water pump. Remove the bolt (2) that secures the engine front cover to the water pump. Remove the feed pipe that joins the thermostat housing to the water pump. Remove the 2 bolts that secure the water pump to the engine block. Remove the water pump.
Q: Hi, what is the difference between an Air pump and a Water pump. What are the functions of each? Does a tank filter come with an air pump? Is an Air pump or Water pump required?
If you have a water pump filter that hangs on the side of the tank you do not need an air pump alhtough I would have both. The water gets oxygen from being circulated. An air pump usually comes with a starter tank along with a air stone. This pump puts oxygen into the water for the fish which should be 1 fish per galllon.
Q: How to measure the temperature of pump body?
It's the temperature of the pump motor! In addition to large pumps, water temperature is rarely monitored. Even so, the temperature of the pump body will not be measured.Since the water pump pumping, the leaves, vanes and shells are no temperature rise, the temperature is mainly concentrated in the bearing: small pumps rely on the work medium can play a role in reducing friction heat;Heating large pump mainly in the thrust bearing and guide bearing, if the bearing is lubricated by water cooling water, if there is oil lubricated oil cooling equipment specially, temperature monitoring of bearing large pumps can be installed in the pump thrust bearing temperature sensor to monitor the varnay.
Q: how does a water pump work?
Water pump works by suction and lifting up the water to a desired level. The mechanism of pump to increase the hydraulic height/level of fluid. Example : The pump will pump and lift water from a 25 feet deep well and carry it up to fill a water tank placed on a 30 feet high structure.
Q: I have been quoted $600 to have a a water pump placed on my 2003 saturn vue. Also, another $300 if a thermostat is also needed. I cannot afford this at this time. Additionally, I have had problems with the car without reason all of a sudden not starting. Then, when I get the car to the mechanic it starts. It drives me nuts. Do I need to have the fuel pumps replaced? Do I need to replace both fuel pumps or just one, and which one?
It okorder /... It will take you about 2-3 hours the first time. If you ever do it again, you will substantially reduce the time it takes from start to finish. The thermostat change is really really easy... a child could do it. Just make sure the thermostat is firmly in it's place before you snug down on the bolts, or you will crack the housing.
Q: How much solar energy would you need to generate and run a small water pump? Say one that is big enough to extract water from a bucket that is 1 ft wide x 2 ft deep? What size solar panel would you need to accomplish this?
Assuming you are only interested in pumping the water out of the back (and onto the floor). The majority of the energy will be consumed trying to get the water to the tip of the bucket (where it will then fall to the floor), so it will initially require very little energy, but by the time it's trying to remove the last bit of water it will have to lift it 2' high(and water exerts 2.41psi per sq. so it need to exert 2.82 PSI+force exerted by the 2' of tubing/pipe). It would also depend on how quickly you want to get the water out of the bucket.
Q: Domestic pump does not use water, or turn, I do not know why?
The motor should be kept working, may be the motor switch problem, idling motor pump long time will certainly be bad, ha ha, the solution is to find a water pump maintenance master to work safety first!
