- Q:I am trying to evaluate my well water pump and water system to see if the pump is cycling on/off too frequently. What is the optimal quot;ontime? What is the optimal quot;offtime? I have heard the term quot;short cyclingquot;, but no times were attached. I have heard that too frequent cycling can cause a problem, but, again, no times were attached. How can one tell when the system is working within the optimal/normal range, so that no harm is being caused to the system? Thanks.
- There is no optimum time. This is dependent on several factors. Assuming you are pumping into a small tank which is pressurized by the inflow of water from the pump (and the pressure also controls the pump) these reasons can be excessive use of water, the air space at the top of your tank has been absorbed into the water over a period of time and the volume of compressed air too small causing the pressure to drop too fast, or you could have leak in your water piping. If there is not enough air space in your tank, the pump will cycle extremely fast. If you don't have a tank, then the above information is incorrect. Good luck.
- Q:I am selling a 96 eclipse that needs a new water pump. I am willing to sell it for an offer as is, but I would like to fix it and sell it for more, so it is as if I am getting paid for the labor. My question is, is it possible at all to change out a water pump on a 96 eclipse without pulling the engine out? Like through the passenger wheel well access panel or anything?
- It is possible, I wouldn't even consider pulling the engine out. The water pump is usually connected to the timing belt, so you'd have to worry about timing it all up after pulling the belt off to replace it. However, being that your eclipse is an inline 4 cylinder, it shouldn't be hard at all to time.
- Q:Our CRN series pumps used in the 414V 480V 60Hz 60Hz power supply, what would be the effect? Is not the head can be reduced, there is no water pump and lift what voltage relationship?
- Our CRN series water pump 1, 480V 60Hz in 414V 60Hz power supply, won't have what effect, only voltage drop corresponding to the current rise. Water pump head will not decrease.2, the water pump voltage and head have no direct corresponding relationship.
- Q:Is it ok to drive a car with a bad water pump?
- Depends on how bad it is. I had a leaking one for about a month before I took it in. I just kept adding water. So it realy depends on what is bad, the bearings, or the impeller. If it overheats, thats a problem and will blow your engine.
- Q:What causes a water pump on a car to go bad????? and are they a pain to change by yourself?????
- The propeller shaft seal goes bad and leaks coolant. There's a weep hole underneath the pump shaft where you can see the whitish tell tale signs of leaking from the shaft seal weep hole. Most pumps are not a do it yourself job because the timing belt might need to be replaced as well and you need special tools and procedures.
- Q:as i asked before in my question what needs to be fixed when a water pump goes bad. so finally it went bad today the car leaked all coolant and for some reason all the blades on the fan broke and the battery light came on. which is connected to the alternator belt so thats not the problem. so now does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to fix and by what i know it needs a new belt for water pump and new fan and water pump etc. taking it to mechanic monday but wanna get an estimate first from u people. any ideass thanks
- seems like you pretty much know what you need id say add the belt tensioner they do go bad so while you got it a apart wouldbe smart to go a head and get one also and really since you know whats bad you could replace it all your self seems like you know more than you think none of it will be hard
- Q:can this happen that pump is pressurizing system and no flow in suction.
- the answer is YES..but NOT from the PUMP..the type of pump most people have requires that flow through the impeller be available at all times or two things will happen !. it will cavitate (that's a gurgling sound at the pump) or 2. It will only beat the water that is in the pump and no flow will be apparent. Either one of these though could be a symptom of a plugged hot water line in the loop. Here is what happens to increase the pressure apparent.. The water on the loop is pressurized from the storage tank to the pump then out to the loop .If the loop is terminated and air gets into the end of the line next to the restriction the outside water pressure is acting like a piston compressing the air that air reacts the same as it would in any compressor and can reach higher than normal operating conditions. If you will find the plug and install an expansion bladder in the highest part of your line your flow ,pressure and noise problems will stop...Good luck with the search...From the E
- Q:Even when all water is shut off in the camper, my water pump keeps running. Even when the tank is completely empty. Does anyone know what is causing this?
- The pump is pressure regulated and kicks on when pressure in the water storage tank drops, such as it does when you open a water faucet. Either the pressure regulator is defective or you have a leak in the plumbing. Somewhere there is an electric switch where you can turn the pump off manually, either on the pump or near the pump. I suggest you shut it off until you can determine what the problem is.
- Q:Does the IP55 indicate the lift on the water pump nameplate?
- IP55 represents the waterproof and dustproof rating of the motor
- Q:The at is a 2003 Toyota celica. And how much would it cost to get the water pump and timing belt replaced?
- You don't have a timing belt on the 1.8L (1ZZ-FE) engine, It has a timing chain! The water pump is driven from the serpentine belt and the labor to replace it calls for 1.8 hours (about $180) and the pump list for $52.99 and it is always wise to replace the thermostat and thermostat O-ring, and that will run you $18.00 and 1 gallon of global coolant $15.00 So your looking at about $280.00 after tax. @ The Interwebz dude, if you like typing so much, why don't you do some clicking so you can do some research before you type!
