Q: How to convert kVA (kilo-volt Ampere) to kg/h (kilogram per hour) for diesel generator set (genset)? I want to know the relation about the energy produced (kVA) to the fuel that used (kg/h) in the genset, either it used more diesel fuel or not. i.e the kVA amount produced is 106kVA and the rpm is 1500rpm
You cannot convert KVA to kg/hr. KVA is a unit for power (rated capacity) and kg/hr is the unit for mass flow rate. There is no direct relation between them.
Q: What will be the effect of ambient temperature on diesel generators
Here the user should pay attention to the configuration of the unit, the unit needs to configure the optional billing
Q: I drive a TATA Indica DLS (not turbo), I understand that it has a base diesel engine which has 55 bhp. I have heard that CNG kits are available in the market and CNG is much economic and eco friendly. Please comment if you know about it. Is it possible ? and how much will be the cost for the conversion ? What are the steps involved ?
you incredibly choose a sparkling engine altogether, one designed to reliably run whilst offering the intense compression ratios like 22:a million mandatory to assist combustion of diesel or different oils. gas engines are purely sturdy for 10:a million compression presently. If the vehicle is already a ordinary diesel vehicle, i've got self assurance all you pick is a few further gas filtering to run on so reported as bio diesel.
Q: Are they cranked by a self starter? Is there such an immensely powerful self starter that runs off batteries and can start such a big engine?Or are they started by some gasoline powered motor?
A diesel engine is started (like an automobile) by turning over the crankshaft until the cylinders fire or begin combustion. The starting can be done electrically or pneumatically. Pneumatic starting was used for some engines. Compressed air was pumped into the cylinders of the engine until it gained sufficient speed to allow ignition, then fuel was applied to fire the engine. The compressed air was supplied by a smallauxiliary engine or by high pressure air cylinders carried by the locomotive. Electric starting is now standard. It works the same way as for an automobile, with batteries providing the power to turn a starter motor which turns over the main engine. In older locomotives fitted with DC generators instead of AC alternators, the generator was used as a starter motor by applying battery power to it.
Q: i means what's happen in diesel generator while just switch on ?
Depends whether it is a battery start or air pressure start. If it's started with a battery, the starter cranks the engine with an electric starter. If it is air started, a solenoid valve is energized, or a hand valve is opened to allow the air pressure to crank the engine with an air turbine. That's the first occurance. There is a definite start-up sequence, in the event the engines fails to start within a given time frame.
Q: If it is not run continuosly in what intervals should it be stopped and what is the standstill time?
as long as you can monitor oil pressure and water temp and provide emergency shutdowns for both. It can run until specified oil change interval which is probably no more than 500 hours at a time.
Q: I'm curious about knowing whats the different them both. Thanks.
A generator is usually powered by a diesel or gas (petrol) engine which powers an alternator to produce mains power for hours provided it is topped up with fuel. A UPS uses a large battery and a high powered inverter circuit to produce mains power but is not expected to power equipment for very long, just long enough to shut them down safely without loss of data.
Q: For over a year, about once a month I start this Jeep and run it about 10 minutes. Zero problems until yesterday. It has fresh gasoline just added, cranks over fine, has spark (I have a spark tester) but will not 'pop' over. Upon closer inspection I see it has at least 6 Bosch type relays under the hood and know if one sticks something will not turn on. Any idea's where to start troubleshooting?(I am a retired US Navy diesel generator mechanic).
spray some ether in the intake and see if it fires, if so follow the fuel system until you find the issue. Make sure the fuel pump is running, and make sure you are getting fuel to the engine. A bad fuel pump relay or plugged fuel filter could cause this. Also check your air filter, in one case i saw a vehicle where someone had checked their oil then left the rag under the hood, well the engine creates a vacuum when its turning over and running, well it pulled the rag into the air box and plugged the filter.
Q: I am looking for the stand by large generator 15-20kw (to use all the power on one transfer switch). The problem is that stand by generator require large propane tanks (expensive to install). I would like to find a stand by generator that i could run off gasoline and use all of it available power. I think this would the most economical solution. In case of propane/natural gas the cost of propane tank installation is significant. The diesel stand by generators are significantly more expensive. So far I have found tri-fuel13kw portable generator that has several outlets. In this case not all the power can be utilized.
Well i think all stand by generator require large propane tanks, its always for optimum performance
Q: I thought we had some smart people in government. Guess not. Read somewhere that one station was pumping it out themselves.NO NEED FOR EXPENSIVE 20,000 WATT DIESEL GENERATOR. Wake the F**K up people!
horse and buggy. no fuel needed.
