Q: Any help greatly appreciated. So I drive a 2005 Chrysler 300. 3.5l v6. I have strange headlight and tail light issues. Mind you there are what I believe aftermarket LED halo style headlights in the front. Tail lights are from 300c hemiFirst of all my #8 fuse [15 amp] is repeatedly blowing for no appearant reason. A Working fuse gives me the fancy blue halos, orange lamps, 3 small LED's and my normal beams. As well as proper running tail lights for the back and a responsive light switch to turn them off and on. . When the fuse blows I'm left with no lights other than my normal beams up front. No tail lights. Yet when the fuse IS blown I press the break and all my tail lights come on [all reds, and yellow blinker lights both constant. Yellow lights don't blink] and a glitchy light switch. NOW aside from all of that. My bottom left fog light does not work. The bulb looks un damaged. Any help greatly appreciated
The fuse protects an individual circuit. The lights which work when the fuse is blown is on another fuse circuit. They could not work if they were on the same circuit as the #8 fuse. It sounds like you may have too many lights on the #8 circuit. If the lighting load is greater than 15 amps it will blow the fuse when you turn on enough lights to exceed the 15 amps. Disconnect a few of the lights to bring the load below the 15 amp limit, and see if it resolves the fuse problem. You could increase the fuse size to 20 amps, but this is not usually advisable as the fuse is sized to protect the circuit components. If its not a result of having too much lighting on the circuit, then I would look for a bare wire which may be contacting the car chassis. The battery is grounded to the car frame, so any power source which touches the chassis will result in a dead ground, which will cause the fuse to blow. I would suggest getting a multimeter to check to see if you are getting power to the left fog light. If you are getting power, then the problem is with the bulb or light fixture. If you are not getting power, then I'd look for a blown fuse or faulty switch.
Q: I have a carpc, and it works fine usually, and today I decided to clean up the wires a little well anyways long story short, I shorted something out, and the computer shut off I checked all of my car fuses, and fixed one that was blown, and tried it agian, but nothing would happen I took the computer inside, and plugged it into my desktop's power supply, (4 pin, and mobo cable) and the green light showed up, but when I hook up a switch to the front panel connector, nothing happens. no fan spin or anything ram is seated correctly etc, and i don't think its a mobo fuse because the mobo light is green need some help here will award 10 points to someone who knows what they are talking about, not someone who just wants a quick 2 points.
You probably permanently damaged a component in your device which is why the fuse blew, but not fast enough to save it from damage.
Q: I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant ES. The fuel level and RPM gauge will not work at all. I tried changing them out with the same result. The fuse for the gauges is ok. All other lights and the temp gauge works. Thanks
Double check the fuse box. You may have checked the fuse that list the gauges, but there could be a second fuse running those 2 gauges. It might be listed under the fuse but behind some other components that that fuse also runs. If not, I would pull and check all fuses in case they didn't list it right. Also there maybe a second fuse/relay box under the hood. Check that too.
Q: I like gardening and growing flowers and plants, but I need to save up money in this crisis ya know, and good ol? regular planters are just too expensive. I have all this old equipment piling up and making mess on my back yard. a tv screen from the 1980?s. a computer screen from the 90?s an old vcr that must be just as old, etc etc.and they?re all just sitting there waiting for kingdom come. So I figured Hey why not make a planter out of the whole lot o?them! maybe just the tv screen. Does anybody have any experience with odd planters? I just do it like I would do it with any regular planter?
Hollow it out drill holes in the bottom of it make sure it's raised off the ground for water to flow out after watering ( for the long term) fill with soiland done.
Q: I have a 400w/1000w dc to ac power inverter. Every time I power it on, the 40A fuse blows even with no load. I tried a direct connection to the battery and it still blows. If anyone has an idea how to fix this please tell me.400w continuous 1000w peakinput: 12vdcoutput: 110vac@60hz
Either you wired the inverter incorrectly, or the inverter has an internal fault. In the second case, it isn't worth repairing. Replacing the inverter costs less than FINDING the fault.
Q: For my 2005 chevrolet malibu maxx, the front left turn signal isn't working. I changed the bulb still the bulb comes on; but doesn't blink. Per the manual, there's 3 fuse boxes. However, none of the fuses are called turn signal. One is called left headlamp low beam.In summary, does anyone the location for the turn signal fuse for a 2005 chevrolet malibu maxx? Thanks
it can,t be the fuse or none of them would work. i would be checking on the socket for the bulb. maybe a bad ground on the socket.
Q: All other components of the car, lights, ac, signals, all work. It is just the fuse that keeps blowing. I replace it, and when I try to start the car, it blows.
starter relay is shorted.
Q: If I remove the fuse for my check engine light on my 95 tercel will it affect any other components
Yes, NO fuse will control just one light.
Q: I just purchased an corsair 750W power supply, and the input is mentioned as 90-264V 10A, Now on the plug that connects to wall socket to power it says 13A 250V (UK Pin) Now i am using it in asia, using an simple adapter but inorder to plug other things like speakers and screen i am buying an surge protector (spike guard). Now at what Amp shall i buy spike guard ? Rated 15A or 10A - As this is what available in my country. PS: The fuse power on the inbuilt fuse on the power plug is 13A. Also inform if i buy a 15A Spike guard and the usage say is only 10A is their a con like, smoking the pc components incase of sum overcurrent?
If the inbuilt fuse is 13 amp then you certainly wouldn't use a power supply rated below it.a 10 amp would be too less a power to kick off the 13 amp if you had a surge. You need one slightly higher rated then the 13 amp.so yes.it has to be a 15 amp surge protector
Q: I have a 2002 Honda Civic that has a 12-Volt power outlet to plug in things such as my radar detector. I've used the same radar detector in my Civic for years without any problems. Recently, after using my radar detector, my fuse would burn out after using the outlet with the detector plugged in. It happens every time. I've already changed the fuse three times! And it's the correct amps too! Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Does my car have a more serious electrical problem I should know about? Any suggestions would be great.
Sounds to me like your radar detector, which you stated that you have used for years, has finally met it's maker, kicked-the-bucket, met it's timely demise, etc. Some component in it has shorted out or something, it now is attempting to draw too much current, and your electrical system is doing exactly what it is should, blowing it's fuse before burning itself out (and/or the radar detector, the whole car, etc.). I would say that it is time to start shopping for a new radar detector.
