- Q: I've been noticing a difference in the temperature gage lately. The quot;change oillight has also been coming on and I just had an oil change not even a month ago, and the car isn't even due back for at least another month. I noticed there's a green/blue liquid in my driveway today, too. I looked under the car and something is leaking or dripping around the passengers side front wheel. More so the passenger-middle side. I've been told it could be the water pump.
- If it's not a heater hose leaking your most likely right that the water pump is bad and loeaking coolant out of the weap hole, which is their so you know it's bad and needs replaced , i believe you should be able to have a new water pump labor for around $300, bucks.Don't put it off to long or you might blow the head gasket. You don't wont to do take.
- Q: How much would it cost if I took it somewhere like midas?

About this Repair: Water Pump Replacement for your 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX Best Practices When replacing the water pump, the drive belts may need to be removed. The belts should be replaced if they show signs of wear. The entire cooling system—including all the coolant hoses and fittings, radiator, coolant fan(s), and fan clutch (if equipped)—should be inspected when replacing the water pump. To help prevent future issues, we recommend replacing the thermostat when the cooling system has been opened for repairs (e.g. water pump or radiator replacement) or during a system flush. Common Symptoms Water pumps require replacement if they begin to leak coolant or become noisy. Leaking water pumps can result in damage to the drive and timing belts. A failed water pump can be caused be problems in the cooling system, such as a failing thermostat, radiator, or head gaskets. ? Learn more about Water Pump Replacement
- Q: what makes pump come on every 10 seconds when water is on
- You should have a pressure tank or bladder tank (same thing) in the plumbing after the pump. If you do have a pressure tank it could be waterlogged.. most all tanks in the last 20 years have been bladder type tanks. the bladder may have leaked inside and filled the tank with water leaving no room for expansion. it should have a valve on the top of it like a valve stem on a tire. Check the pressure on it with the pump off. it should be about 4 pounds more than your pump cut on pressure. Or you could have a bad pressure switch. There are LOTS of kinds of pressure switches, so I won't even try to tell you how to check it. but the pump should run till the pressure is built up in the tank then sut off and not come back on again till the pressure on the lines is lowered to the cut in pressure on the pressure switch.without more specific information or a pic I can't help much more. First thought is pressure tank needs checked or replaced. Good luck.
- Q: i have a 1960 ford f100 and i was wondering if its better to have an electric water pump or mechanical. ive heard mechanical is worse because at low rpms it doesnt put as much water into the motor but i wasnt sure how true that was. What was is better so that my truck doesnt overheat? and how much better is one over the other if electric will just be a little better is it even worth using? also will i need to change anything on my motor to be able to put an electric water pump on it or will it just bolt on like the mechanical one does
- Whoever told you that meeds to be slapped. Most elec water pumps do not flow enough coolant for daily street use, and they do not have along enough life span for daily use The mech. pumps are in the 50-60 gallon per min range on flow. Most elec units are in the 16 to 37 gallons per min range on flow. Yes they do have a few that moves 40-55 gpm but you will PAY for those. $536 for a 55 gpm flow elec pump for a ford.. It also draws 10 amps as while. I'm not a big ford man so I'm not sure about your alt, but on chevys of that age they only had a 37 amp unit... Drawing about 1/4 of the amps for just the water pump won't work so weill. You will need to update the charging system Most will only last about 5,000 hours awell... Some of the better ones says 10,000 hours.
- Q: water pump went out how do we find it where would it be located?
- 2001 Chevy Malibu Water Pump
- Q: Variable flow variable frequency water pump how to adjust the flow?
- Variable frequency pump is mainly depending on the frequency converter to adjust the speed of the pump motor, thereby regulating the flow and lift pump, the following Q1/Q2=n1/n2; H1/H2= (n1/n2) -, the frequency range of the frequency converter in 30HZ~50HZ
- Q: I could get a 1994 Camaro, v6, no rust, automatic, excellent condition for $1200. THe ony thing is that it needs a water pump. Is it worth the buy? How much other damage could have been done with the water pump damaged? and how hard is it to replace the water pump?
- Tell them you'll give him a thousand and buy it. Check the coolant bottle and look for sludge. Check oil for milkshake looking oil. These motors are known for bad intake and head gaskets and that is not as easy as a water pump.
- Q: I was vacuuming up water from my basement I assumed was from the rain, suddenly water started spraying out of a blue pump at the base of my furnace, don't know what the pump does or why its spraying but its making an awful mess.
- Blue pump, usually found on the floor near the furnace (sometimes mounted where plenum meets the furnace frame) is a condensate pump. One of the products of combustion is water. This water is drained from the ventor motor (a motor which runs and sets a artificial draft inside the combustion chamber) to a drain nearby or a electric pump which then pumps the water over a longer distance to a remote drain. If the pump's discharge outlet gets plugged from dirt the result is usually the mess you see. Remove the cover plate of the pump housing, clean it out and run a wire with a small rag attached as a snake through the tube to drain. There is usually some type of float switch inside the pump housing so make sure it is free to move. Check for operation by pouring some tap water in it and move the float switch to on (up) One final note and this is very important. If the pump or tube to drain is filled up with a crud that resembles paste, call your local trusted HVAC tech for furnace service. This condition can be an early sign of heat exchanger failure and is a major safety concern for your family
- Q: The car water pump is broken. What are the symptoms?
- China water pump trading network for you to answer: car water leakage symptoms are mainly 1, leakage (water leakage is minor and serious), slight leakage, only in the water pump ventilation holes left on the traces of coolant color. Serious is the direct cause of higher temperature Water Leakage, symptoms of a lack of cooling liquid; 2, the weak ability of circulating pump circulation: if the ability is weak, will appear high temperature phenomenon, especially in the southern summer is more obvious; 3, abnormal sound; if the water pump bearing internal problems, abnormal noises in the belt drive that may be slight, you did not find.
- Q: 89 Dodge van overheats, no water leak, replaced thermostat but still overheats.
- um. yeah very good idea to replace it if you havent in a good while since you owned the vehicle. Oh and may as well do the timing belt or chain because u have to take it off to get to the water pump. also i would recommend a coolant flush to solve your over heating issues. If thats not the case.....check your heater core. symtoms of that are a leaky floorboard and smells of antifreeze coming from your vents as your heater is blowing.
