- Q: The title says it all? What do i do?!
- Stanley Steamer!!! or Nail Polish remover
- Q: I want to buy this shortsale house that has carpet that animals have used the bathroom on. The carpet is not worn and is a very expensive type. I was thinking that if I removed the carpet, set it up on saw horses in the back yard, and cleaned it using a mixture of bleach water and a pressure washer. I would then let it dry completely, spray it down with febreeze and then reinstall it in the house using new padding. Does anyone have any experience doing something like this? I did the same thing to my truck carpet but I know that was probably a little different.
- My favorite method for cleaning carpets involves renting a carpet machine for the weekend, NOT buying the cleaner that they offer, and instead using lemon scented ammonia and plain vinegar with hot water in the cleaning machine. This is a very clean rinsing formula that will cut grime and pet odors without damaging the carpet. New padding is a must but you can clean the carpets and then pull them outside to dry while you replace the padding and mop the underfloor with the sudsy ammonia and vinegar mix. 2 cups ammonia 2 cups vinegar 1 full tank of hot water on the carpet machine Please remember! Keep all bleach and bleaching products away from the ammonia! Once the carpets and floor are dry the ammonia is dispersed and you will not have to worry about a negative chemical reaction in the future.
- Q: Okay, a its getting colder ive started rugging my horse again, but theres one slight problem. He' terrified of them. It never happened before, but for the past couple of weeks the only way i can get a rug off him is by undoing the straps and letting him spook while holding onto the rug, and then putting it on i have to have very skilled aim and try to get it on while he is running in circles. This isnt happening because this is his first year of having a rug, he has had them for all 14 years of his life, its just ridiculous, and its not like the rug is different in any way at all. Its not my method of putting on/taking off the rug either, no one at my stable can do it without him spooking. Just wondering though, is there anyway i can desensitise him to this? Or find a better way to get the rugs on and off?
- Silly horses. I don't have too much advice about desensitizing, I haven't had to deal with that a lot, but I do have a great way to take it on and off! Undo all the clasps, and then starting in the back, fold it half way up his back. Then take the front and fold it until it meets the folded back part. Then you will just have a strip of blanket on his back that you can remove without a lot of noise and fuss. Keep it in that same shape to put it back on. Unfold the front and then the back, then do all the clasps. I take off blankets and put them on this way on all horses I deal with and its really fast and effective. It's also a great method if the horse is really tall.
- Q: What is the Pearl carpet, what is the Pearl carpet
- Three types: A, Fine pearl carpets(there is pearl powder on surface and it's smooth and delicate) B, Piece pearl carpets(there are particles and the surface color is more bright and glossy) C. Glazing pearl carpets( put a layer of glue on the original surface, the surface is smooth and drops chip)
- Q: I have 13 grandchidren and want to put in a carpet that is stain resistant and wearable
- Guitar has some very good points on the stain resistance in a carpet but I have to choose a pure nylon carpet for durability. These fibers are treated now with a heat set in texture retention that when properly cleaned the fibers will come back to life and stand back up. These fibers you are walking on the tops of , and this is what you want. Berber , since your walking on the yarn side, has a tendency to matt and crush. Most berbers are also made of an Olefin/ nylon mix. While Olefin is a good stain block by nature, it is a softer yarn. So it boils down to a good stain blocker set into the fiber as its made ( not topically applied ) nylon and a good anti matt/ anti crush warranty. Nothing less than 10 years. Not all stuff will come out of a carpet . The trick is to properly treat spills right away and in a way the manufacturer suggests. Plus the daily vacuuming and at a minimum of once a year a professional , certified carpet cleaner. Mohawk and shaw make some good products. I lean toward Mohawk because I sold it for almost 20 years. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: this is for my rs work and i dont know what rangoli carpets are please help thanks! xxx
- Hey, U.P., what's up? Sometimes we just have to be proud of the fact that even three and four year olds can use computers these days. Other times, we need to figure out how to invent a childproof locking keyboard. I mean we keep 'em out of aspirin bottles and there are trigger locks for guns. I know the computers have anti-child settings, but those are software solutions. We need a physical lock for our keyboards!
- Q: Because carpet is soft...
- The carpet may be soft, but your chin is a very sensitive part of your body. It never comes in contact with anything - unlike your hands - and it never builds up callous or protective tissue. It is also home to a lot of receptors - so when you rub your chin against the carpet, you are giving it a friction burn and that hurts. Not sure why you might want to rub your chin against the carpet in the first place, but that's why it hurts.
- Q: They prefer dry food to wet. I am feeding them IAMS kitten food....I have washed the throw rugs but what is best to use on the carpet and how do i keep them from peeing again? They were just at the Animal Coaltion in June...and were pronounced healthy....
- in all probability you have not thoroughly eradicated the scent of urine from the section. Cats have a much greater advantageous experience of scent than people. you may desire to apply an enzymatic product like Natures Miracle or Outright to eliminate the scent. you will might desire to handle assorted cases and ensure you besides mght take care of the wall. Vinegar won't do away with the scent for the cat. it is going to easily make the section scent like vinegar. the only different non-save offered treatment i comprehend consists of hydrogen peroxide. it may bleach the colour from non-colour speedy factors. i'm going to write down the recipe. in simple terms be sure you combination it in an open field as a gas kinds while the components are blended. thoroughly soak the section and this is truly helpful to repeat the utility greater effective than as quickly as. a million cup Hydrogen peroxide a million tsp baking soda a million drop dish cleansing soap sturdy success
- Q: Our cat pees on our rug and we don`t know why. The main part is we can`t get the smell of the rug. We have this huge piece of tinfoil and it says that he would be scared of it and not even walk on it but he walks right over and starts biting at it. Now that the tinfoil is there he won`t pee on the tinfoil but he finds a new spot on the rug. We spray this stuff on the rug that we got from our vet but it would take like 10 bottles of it to take the pee smell off. Is there anything that you tried that takes up smell our anything you think is good to use? We are thinking off letting him be an outdoor cat so he will pee out there but we are not sure. We also have a we also have one of those squirt bottles that we filled up with water so if we catch him then we can squirt him. But we still need help!
- You have a couple of things to do. 1. Your cat pees on the rug because there is already the smell of cat urine in and on the rug. He will continue to do this as long as that rug is in your premises. The rug must be removed and the floor underneath assessed. If the floor underneath has any odor, he will pee on it so, that floor would have to be replaced. 2. The most important thing is the fact that since you have a male cat, he be neutered. Neutering should occur at the age of six months and just before he is sexually mature. If he is allowed to reach maturity and then neutered, if he has any ideas about sex, he will spray after being neutered. This is an individual thing. The majority of male cats won't spray but, you must neuter at six months. 3. If there is any urine odor in the house, your cat will spray. Unfortunately, this is the way it is. All the things that you have thought about will not work. It is just that simple. Sad but true. Neutering of the male is the most important thing. 4. In an attempt to retrain him to be a clean cat, lock him in a bathroom with his litter box and food and do this for a number of days. This retraining process may work and may not work but, it is worth a try. I wish you every luck with this problem. It is a difficult one. It is also not the cat's fault. He is only doing what comes naturally.
- Q: I've had this area rug/carpet for a few years. It still looks great, but it has fold marks, and I always have to pull it to even it out, I believe it is caused by the coffee table. Is there a way to undo this?
- What the problem is, is that either the backing on the rug is bent or the rug is made of very strong durable material. Either way, using a little hand held steamer will do the trick. It might take a little while, but it does work. Be sure to protect whatever is behind it, no matter what process you decide to use! If it is small enough, you can take it outside and pour very hot water on the folds. However, hot water shrinks the material. So, you will need to have it pulled tight and secured. Using an iron with a wet cloth atop it is a good idea, too. Give that a go first. If it doesn't work, go with the steamer. Good Luck!
