- Hi, former floor covering business owner here-yes you can purchase carpet glue and a syringe from Home Depot, Lowes, possibly Menards. If you are unable to find it there ask a local carpet store if they would sell you some. Tell them it is in a commercial area and is a safety hazard. They generally do not want to do the carpet repair for you and consider the job too small, and if they did they would charge a large labor fee. It could be that the surface (debris left on floor)the glue was originally placed on was not prepared properly or the environmental conditions(too cold, too hot) were not favorable. Also,perhaps the glue or carpet was defective. We were surprised to receive so many defective products and carpet and constantly found that we would have to consult our area representative to rectify customer complaints. - It's not as soft as wool, but it's nothing as bad as walking on sisal. One thing I don't like about polypropylene is that it becomes matted easily, and it doesn't pop back up when it's vacuumed, like nylon pile rugs do.. Rather, the threads seem to stick together, and if you have to scrub out pet vomit or spilled mashed potatoes, it seems to matt even more. It's a nice-looking rug, and most likely a great price, but I'd keep looking.

- There is a product that can dye the carpet. It's a pain to match the color you have to try a patch test first but try the local hardware store. You could also cut that part of the carpet out replace just the patch. A lot of flooring places will sell remnants cheap.

- Q: OK, my pet pooped on the carpet, didn't notice it for awhile. It dried, I picked it up, vacuumed the carpet as well as I could, sprinkled a little (not too much) baking soda into the carpet and rubbed in it. Then I put diluted vinegar (half and half with water) in a container and soaked a paper towel, wrung it out and scrubbed the carpet with it. I didn't use a whole lot of vinegar, about half a cup solution (which would be 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 of water) for an area the size of a large cutting board.I plan on leaving it overnight and in the morning scrubbing it out with a bit of water - will the vinegar harm the carpet in the meantime or am I OK? Nothing was put sopping on the carpet - the paper towel was just damp.
- I wouldn't leave it overnight. It should be fine with the treatment you already gave it.
