- I have always had hard wood floors, so I use area rugs and rug runners under foot. I have found that the best rugs are wool rugs. My all time favorite rugs are hand hooked rugs. They are very durable.
- Q: I have a big rug in my bedroom which I would like to bring to school- however it smells bad from jsut being on the floor for so long. I would like to clean it just enough so that it won't stink up my dorm room WITHOUT calling a carpet cleaner. Any suggestions?
- You don't say what the rug is made of....if it's the kind that folds up easily and can go into a big machine at the laundromat...then wash it that way (using a good detergent and Tide Stain Release in-wash booster packet and add some good fabric softener).... If it's the kind of carpet that needs shampooing: then rent a machine that will clean the carpet with some good carpet cleaner (go to Walmart...they have Bissell's Pet Remover solution or WM also has their version at cheaper price. This solution is great at removing strong odors from carpets and leaves a great scent). OK...you don't want to call a cleaner...and if you don't want to rent a machine either: how about trying a good steam cleaner and running it over and over the rug to sanitize and clean it? May need spot remover for stubborn stains where you see them. You'll have to put a little effort into this project if you want to live comfortably with the finished product.

The carpet has not been cleaned for three years, and is very dirty. The stain was pretreated immediately after the incident, but never got out. I am going to get - 1 Rental Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaner- 1 Bissell Spotbot- 1 box of Borax- 1 box of OxycleanWhat should I use as the carpet cleaning solution? Have any pretreat recommendations? - When you rent the carpet cleaner, there will be cleaning solutions there that you can buy. Use the Oxyclean to pretreat, but do not put it or the Borax in the carpet cleaner machine. They will ruin the machine and then you will have to pay for it or for repairs. Use only the cleaning solutions that are recommended. Ask the person who is renting the machine to you. They know what cleaner to use for what stains. If you have not cleaned your carpet for over 3 years, you may have to do some heavy traffic areas 2 or 3 times to get all the dirt out. But it's worth it, as you will see. I would pretreat the blood stains with the Oxyclean, as directed on the box/canister. Good Luck!

- Yes it will. im in aus to and my horse always has a rug on. Where looking at a HOT summer this year mate. And hot summers mean COLD winters. Use a rug!
- Q: Okay, my little puppy tore up the carpet at my doorway where the hard wood floor meets the carpet. I have OCD and it bothers me so bad! lol! - Provided you can get the same type of carpet, you can seem in a piece. Basically you need carpet seeming tape, new carpet, and a carpet seeming iron. You have to take a straight edge or a square and cut off the bad section. Cut to match new section with straight edge or square. Warm up seaming iron match the run of the new carpet with The run of the old otherwise it will look really bad. Lay seam tape half and half between old and new carpet. .. better yet it would be esier for you to look up how to seam carpet on youtube. Good luck
- Q: I have a bissel carpet shampooer. I use that wit hot water and the bissel cleaning solution... Which is okay working.. But I need to DEEP clean my carpets. Whats the best cleaning solutions I can use in my shampooer or pour directly on the stains? The stains are mostly pet stains (no odor) and the stairs get bad because of all the foot traffic. - Most would have terrible fumes../ When I owned a carpet cleaner.. I tried a laundry detergent..but it required alot of extra rinseing../ ..I also tried ammonia..Clear ammonia..and the fumes were really strong.. I used a Spray Bottle--and did small patches../ Now-a-days..I use sectional carpeting.. ..and I have a place in the bath tub..to hang them straight up.. I use PineSOL..I spray them with a plastic bottle sprayer..and I have a hose to connect to the bathroom sink..for rinsing..it takes all week to do all the carpeting--allowing for the dry time../ === You might try Scrubbing Bubbles..bathroom cleaner../ ..there is a slight fume--odor But the cleaning strength is the best.

- When the carpet is dry, the weight is not too large, but it is still relatively hard after soaking and can not be turned in the washing machine. In serious cases, it will damage the washing machine. Therefore, it is recommended not to use the washing machine to wash carpet.
