- Q:There's a nice hole in the carpet that's pretty deep. How do you fix it?
- We repair carpet all the time and it is part art and a lot of Patience. You need scrap carpet. A Straight Edge. A carpet Knife (Home Depot) Roberts carpet glue and seam tape. If the carpet is thick you have a better chance to not have the seams show. It is important the nap is running the same direction or you can see the patch. We use a pencil and paper. Place the paper on top of the carpet and pencil on top of the paper. Run your hand back and forth over the pencil and the paper will move. This is the direction the nap is running.. On you scrap you want to do the same thing and mark on the back the direction the nap is running. CUT Carefully and exactly. IMPORTANT. After you make your cuts dry fit and adjust till it looks great. Next Use the roberts glue to seal the edges on both the carpet and the scrap edges and let it dry. Otherwise it will fray. Place seam tape on the edges of the carpeting and place the scrap on it. Use a shoe brush to adjust and clean the nap. Trim any loose fibers. NOTE if you use new scrap carpet you will notice the patch.
- Q:I spilled liquid laundry soap on the floor yesterday. I cleaned it with a wet vac and I thought it went away. Today when I woke up it stained the carpet. I've been rinsing it all day with just water and sucking it up with the wet vac. How can I get this stain to go away. Please help very desperate.

- Q:I have a Large area rug that I need cleaned. A woman that had a HOUSE TRAINED dog gave it to me. I want to clean it as the dog walked and layed down on this rug as well. - Karen's answer would be best, just put it in the yard and soak the crap out of it.. but if you don't have a yard, the bathtub will do. Put it in, put some detergent in, (and maybe the salt to help keep the dye from going anywhere) swish it around a lot and maybe let it soak, then drain and refill the tub until you feel it's rinsed.
- Q:If I lay down a lot of rugs in my apartment (I AM ON THE 3rd FLOOR SO I HAVE SOMEONE UNDER ME). No complaints as of yet but I want to turn it up a bit will laying out alot of rugs help or not? If you have a better idea please help!THANKS!
- The rugs will reduce reverberation and echo within your property and may reduce some footfall noise transferring to the apartment below (in the areas where you have the rugs) but I'm afraid it will do very little to improve the sound insulation performance of the floor itself. Sound insulation performance has more to do with weight/mass than thickness! The heavier that you can make the floor the better. There are proprietary underlay systems on the market that you could install onto the floor but their suitability depends on what the existing construction is.

- Q:my doctor prescribed me this benzoyl peroxide gel for my face and i accidentally got a big glob of it on my rug. I went to clean it up with these red tissues and it started to turn my rug red! The next day, I put this carpet cleaner on it (one that has to sit for 15 minutes then you vacuum it) and it turned it orange!
- Your rug looks bleached. If that is the case, you will have to color it. But, if this indeed a stain causing this color: Go to Home Depot and pick up Liftoff 2 (oil and adhesives) It will be in the paint aisle. spray it on your stain, let sit for 30 seconds, scrub and vacuum. Repeat as necessary, rinse and let dry. However, like I said before, it looks like your rug is bleached, not stained.

- Q:We have a large carpet that we want to cut and lay over our cream one (to save it as we have a two year old) The carpet WILL fray and become untidy and we have heard that it will cost 80p per 12 inches to get it 'overlocked' or is it called 'binding' (the edges sewn up so it doesnt fray) and we just cant afford it as the measurements are 16 feet x 9 feet = ?40 (odd)... - haha 19hh is absolutely huge!!!!! as for 5'9 6'0 etc, that just means the length of the rug in feet and inches e.g 5 foot 9 inches. This measurement is taken from the front corner of the rug to the back corner. My horse is 15.2hh and I put him in a 6 foot rug, if thats any help. You need to find out the correct size of your horse to get the right sized rug. To measure him, just measure from the ground to the top of his withers (the nobbly part at the base of his neck) There's 4 inches to every hand. Use this formula to determine his height in hands: height in inches divided by 4 Hope this helps
