Q: The check engine light came up on my catera and took it Autozone and Advance Auto parts. They scanned it and this what it shows P0171 P0174. Details belowP0171: The PCM has determined that during testing, the fuel system bank 1 was too lean. (Bank #1 indentifies that the location of cylinder 1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank).Probable causes:1. Q: I‘m looking for a new Semi-auto (light-weight) shot gun that I can put a rifled barrel on and use as a slug gun. I was looking around and found out Benelli‘s semi-autos have an inertia system instead of a gas one. Does that system still use the recoil of the gun? How does it work different from the gas. (and if you know of any good light-weight semi-auto slug guns please feel free to post any oppinions or info on that) (except Remingtons, I can‘t stand em): I hunt waterfowl with an M2 and like it. I've had several semi autos over the past 40 years and find the Benelli to be my favorite. Keep in mind that most of the name brands build a quality shotgun and the biggest thing to consider is how it feels (fits) to you.

Q: Alero 2003 stalls at light and will not start before 20 or 30 mintues. during this period if i put the key on the on mode airbag light flashes then stays steady, fuel pump relay not getting power, no humming from the fuel pump. also during this period i can start the car with the remote starter but when i press the breaks it dies: it sounds to me like your auto start is bad. when auto starts and aftermarket alarm system brain box fails alot of weird things can happen. id recommend pulling the auto start out or taking it to a place that can properly remove it for you.

Q: ABS light is on, what does that mean, how do i get it off, and how much $$ will it cost me to get it off (ballpark figure)?Thanks, John: ABS light means the computer senses a problem w/ abs and it has - most likely - shut down the abs returning the system to standard brakes configuration. You can drive the vehicle normally - as long as brake feel and performance is ok. Just don't expect to have abs kick in. If you start to skid - pump the brakes yourself! The most likely cause is a dirty wheel sensor, sensor out of adjustment or a damaged wire to the wheel sensor. The sensors are magnetic and over time they collect metallic particles from the pads and discs - they get furry. Clean them off. Those are fairly easy to fix and not too $$. A scan tool will identify precisely the fault. If it is a sensor it will tell you which one. If it is in the actuator - or computer those get into a lot of money - so you may just want to stay with the standard - abs off system.

Q: I have a 2005 Saturn Vue 4 cyl. the high beams stay on. When the lights are set to auto or manual the high beams stay on. The only way to make them go off is to take the fuse out that controls the headlights. Thought it might be the battery, had it checked was bad replaced the battery same issue with the lights. My last thought it may be the alternator but nothing in the owners manual obout the alternator. Trying to not have the car towed to a shop so any help with be great.: Do these lights stay on when the ignition is off? If yes check the light relay. If the lights are on all the time but only when the ignition is on, these are your daytime running lights. Nearly all GM products have daytime running lights as standard equipment since about 1997. A safety feature that makes your car more easily seen by oncoming traffic. It would be foolish to attempt to disable this safety feature. When the daytime running lights are on the high beams stay on, but only at half power. This is not enough energy to effect the battery or charging system. It does not significantly reduce the high beam bulb life. Besides, what's more important? The lifespan of a replaceable light bulb or your lifespan. The daytime running lights should be on any time the ignition is in the on position. The position of the headlight switch has no effect on the daytime running lights.

Q: I have a 2000 Mustang (V6) and the check engine light is on. I took it do Advance auto to have it checked and they told me the code is P0411 and it says Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow.I called a Ford dealer and they of course told me to bring it up there for them to charge me 200.00 just to look at the thing. Could someone please tell me what might be wrong with the car.Thank you!: tha air injection system is basicly a air pump that is ran of the engine that sends fresh air either to the front of the catalytic to help bring it to operating temp, or directly in to the catalytic to help reduce emissions. This code could mean that the pump may be defective, the hoses or pipes from the pump is defective or a sensor that makes the decision on where to send the air is defective.

Q: I just purchased a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT with about 140k miles on it. It has been driving just fine for 2 days, but I decided to fuel up with mid grade gas instead of the recommended premium, and now the check engine light is of with the flashing green cruise light. Could the mid grade gas cause this? The engine still sounds fine and I don‘t see any other problems.: MOSt times te4h REAL cause of an ENGINE LIGHT is a dirty IDLE AIR CONTROL VAVLE and THROTTLE BODY. THese thigns FINE tuen the incoming AIR portion of the FI system. NO GAS additves will GET THERE. THese things must be MANUALLY cleaned out. TAke $20-30 to the local quicky lube and have them clean BOTH items to SHOWROOM clean. Your will just DISPAPPEAR! The other REAL cause is using VERY CHEAP engien oil that makes LOTS of sludge and acidic vapros. This is WHY scienteists invented SYNTHETIC OILS. They keep engine sCLEAN and th eoil lasts 3-4 times LONGER without makding SLUDGE AND VARNISH. BAD oil will reeuce expensvie engin sensors to crap in a short time. ALWAYS leep your IACV and T body PERFECTLY CLEAN! GOOD LUCK!!
