Q:I bought a used 1999 Crown victoria from a dealership. it came with the blinking LED auto theft light, but it doesn't seem to work. does anyone know how i can get it to work? or where can i take it to get it re installed and get it back working again?: The light only blinks when the car is off. Wondering if maybe the anti-theft chip in the key system has been hacked, because the LED won't burn-out, there's no fuse or relay in the circuit to go bad. I have the wiring manual for my '02 Grand Marquis, which is basically the same car....Let me see where the blinker circuit goes ...

Q:I have a 1997 Plymouth Breeze with the 2.0 four cylinder engine. The light came on over the weekend and I took the car straight to Auto Zone for a scan of the OBD2 system. The only code that registered was P1494, I called the chysler dealership and they said it was a leak in the evap system. Most likely cause was a loose or missing gas cap. I checked for this, and even went to the expense of buying a new one. After the new cap was installed, I had the code erased. I reset my trip meter and drove about 90 miles and the light came back on. I‘ve had a mechanic check the lines and hoses running from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister and then to the engine. All were tight and in good shape. I was also told by the dealership that the leak detection pump might be bad. This is a small vacume pump that keeps a constant vacume to the evap system. My Haynes manual shows this pump, but my mechanic says there isn‘t one on my car. I‘m now being told the problem is my O2 sensors??????: It's very possible that the O2 sensors are the problem. It seems that most of the time when a check engine light comes on, it's to indicate an environmental/anti-pollution system such as this.

Q:My Nissan Armada '04 service engine soon light has been on for a while. I took it to get a NYS inspection and they said not to get the inspection until I figure out what's wrong with the engine because if they hooked it up to the computer it would be an automatic failure. Q:The check engine light came up on my catera and took it Autozone and Advance Auto parts. They scanned it and this what it shows P0171 P0174. Details belowP0171: The PCM has determined that during testing, the fuel system bank 1 was too lean. (Bank #1 indentifies that the location of cylinder 1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank).Probable causes:1. If bank 1 2 codes set together suspect fuel pressure or MAF sensor.2. Oxygen sensor3. Ignition misfire4. I‘m thinkng O2 sensor but I could be wrong.: Ok, forget the fuel filter. The guys at AZ are idiots, thats why they are working there. Anyways what sets that code off usually is either a vacuum leak of some type, or either a failed o2 sensor. If you have a misfire on that Catera generally you will know it. You're gas mileage is probaly kinda crappy so start for looking for a vacuum leak. No leaks chances are it's probaly a failed o2 sensor. Good Luck.
