Q: brake the light stays on but stops blinking and sometimes I put my turn signal on and they both blink somebody told me that its not getting any power back there does any one have any suggestions on what it could be? THANX
You do not need a new wiring harness. This could be a couple things. First check the lights and make sure they all have the correct bulb. In some vehicles if you use a 1156 or 2056 in place of a 1157 or 2057 it will backfeed into the other side and cause some strange things to happen. The reverse lights is a whole different problem. You have a problem w/ the reverse switch (most are in the steering column.not a fix for the inexperienced) There is also a possibility that the bulbs are simply burned out or the fuse is blown (if you replace it and it blows again you have a short somewhere in that circuit). The problem you're having could also be the turn signal switch itself. In vehicles that use the same bulb for the brake and turn signal, the brake lights run through the turn signal switch (also inside the steering column). I actually replaced one of these in a '96 Buick just yesterday.
Q: I have a 2000 Mustang (V6) and the check engine light is on. I took it do Advance auto to have it checked and they told me the code is P0411 and it says Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow.I called a Ford dealer and they of course told me to bring it up there for them to charge me 200.00 just to look at the thing. They said it could be one of several different problems. The car seems to be driving just fine but the light is bothersome. Could someone please tell me what might be wrong with the car.Thank you!
tha air injection system is basicly a air pump that is ran of the engine that sends fresh air either to the front of the catalytic to help bring it to operating temp, or directly in to the catalytic to help reduce emissions. This code could mean that the pump may be defective, the hoses or pipes from the pump is defective or a sensor that makes the decision on where to send the air is defective.
Q: I have a 2001 chrysler town and country mini van. My engine light came on when I had a 1/2 a tank of gas. I took it to a parts store to have them find out why the engine light came on. They said I had a small gas leak that could be from the gas cap not being tight enough. They turned off my engine light with their hand held machine. I tightened the gas cap and drove till I needed to fill up with gas and then the light came back on when it got to the 1/2 way mark again. What could be causing this problem? I made sure after I filled up again that I tightened the gas cap! This did not seem to help.
First try a new gas cap and have the light turned off again. If it comes back on, you probably have an evap leak. It's an emmisions related fault, you won't notice any problems, but its not something you can fix at home. Have to take it to a shop.
Q: just bought the car, after fist payment check engine light is on, tested at Auto Zone and they say converter. Options? must pass emissions within the next month- HELP!!
the car will get through emissions with the converter but not with the check engine light on. the code is for a deteriorated catalyst and that means that the ability to process exhaust gasses (clean them up so to speak) has deminished to less than 50% of the converter's original capacity. It doesn't mean that the converter isn't working so the car is probably still operating within the emissions limits. the code for the converter takes a long time to set, so my suggestion is to have the code cleared and drive the car. If the check engine light comes on again, note how long it took for the system tests to trigger the light. I've seen it where the light doesn't come back on for months. If the light comes back on in two weeks, then simply go to autozone and have them clear the code about a week before you go for the emissions test. that way the light will be off and you should pass the test. If the light hasn't come back on by that time, just go through the test. I know you don't want to know how much the replacement converter cost. lets hope clearing the light gets you through the emissions test. Then you can drive the car until your next emissions test is required without buying the converter. the car won't act any differently with a deteriorated catalyst and won't leave you stranded or die on you as some other manufacturers converters will Hope that helps
Q: Just recently our airbag light started flashing. There has not been any damage to the vehicle. Is there a way to diagnose where the problem originates if you have a wiring diagram? The dealer wants $130 just to find where the problem is and then repair is extra on top of that.
I doubt that the OBD II scanners at Auto Zone are capable of reading codes for the SRS AirBag system. You need a Nissan dealers Consult II scanner to diagnose that system. Wiring diagrams are no help, SRS problems are usually air bags with intermittent open circuits or the steering wheel clock spring. Don't use a VOM on the SRS system or you will set off the air bags and end up with $2,000 or more in replacement costs.
Q: How would i kno if the ac is on?also, how can i check if theres leaks in the system?the previous owner said he had it refilled this year in june
there has to be something that tells you the temp inside the car? A thermometer? compare it to what you set the climate control on it should be the same temp or near. To see if there is a charge put the climate control on the lowest setting and see if the air coming out of the vents is cold if not then there is no charge if you hit the gas a little and the air becomes colder then there is a low charge.
Q: Is there a recycling headlamp bulb?
Have
Q: I want to buy a CAN/OBD II compliant Auto Scanner (gets codes for check engine light of vehicles from 1996-present) for vehicles of domestic and foreign (Asian/European) origin in the price range of $100-$400. Any suggestions?
harbor freight,mac/matco if you access to the automotive scene, they have scanners/code readers and clearer's for that price range or even higher priced units that can get further into the computer systems and have streaming data
Q: I have a 2003 VW Passat Turbo engine,My mechanic told me the only code that came up after checking it was system too lean and that altitude could be a probable cause, I‘ve been driving the car back and forth for California to Flagstaff, AZ. He told me to pour injector fluid in it, and after filling up the tank and adding the cleaning injector fluid, I‘ve been running the car for about a week and the tank is getting low, I turned it on earlier and the light was off. Would that have been the problem then? Or should I get it checked again? He said that sometimes they get dirty and cause that light.
Rather than steel, the majority will be made from cast iron, which is more rigid - certainly the plate (or frame). The strings are usually tensile steel, with copper wrapping in the bass section. There will be some brasswork also.
Q: I am not talking about the oil light. How do I do it with the reset button? If I disconnect the battery I have to reset the clock, radio, etc.
Above is partly correct. You will need to fix what caused it to come on. You need an OBDII scan tool to check those codes. If you think or thought it was the fuel cap left loose, it will reset itself after 30 key cycles(Not 30 key on, key off trick either--has to have a drive cycle in between those key on key off trip) but yes, you will need to redo the clock, radio stations if you disconnect the battery. Would be quicker faster if you just went by a local auto parts store have them see what the code is then clear it. Most likely an oxygen sensor code
