Q:i was driving my car and the engine cutted out .it didt start up again .there no sign on dash of any faultsdoes it mean ther engine has pack up .tryed jump starting but no luck: there is a bleeder valve on each caliper(looks like a nipple) have someone pump the brakes and hold themdown. then loosen the bleeder valve. you should hear air or see brake fluid. tighten it back up before they let off the brakes. repeat until nothing but fluid comes out on all calipers. good luck

Q:Mechanic turned it off using a tool- said it was an old crash sensor code but it came back on the next day. He couldn‘t trouble shoot it any further- only option on his tool was to turn it off. You don't mention make, model or year but if it was sold in the US after January 1, 1996 it has the OBDII emission system (federal law, you know.) A scanner has to be plugged into the system to read the codes that tell what sort of thing is wrong. Most auto parts chain stores will do that for free in hopes of selling repair parts. For example, a P0440 code says there is a problem with the evaporative control system - often a loose gas cap. A P0172 says the engine (or the left bank, if dual exhaust system) is running too rich - something that can cost you a catalytic converter if you drive it hard on the freeway. You need to have the code read, and at the same time the person reading the codes can try to reset them. If the light won't stay out the problem really needs to be fixed - something is still wrong with your car.
