- Q: I just spilled nail polish remover (yes, REMOVER) on my carpet...will anything happen to the carpet? How long does it take for the smell to go? I have my fan on...does that do anything? Please help - my room stinks!!
- I do hope you cleaned the Carpet real well as soon as you spilled it. I would be surprised if it did not remove some of the color of your carpet..I had a friend who did that also and it did remove the color and she had saved a piece of the Carpet that was left over after it was laid. So she cut a small piece out to fit the place she had destroyed with the Polish remover. I hope you have some spare carpet pieces around...
- Q: I am looking into buying a good carpet cleaning machine. I have looked at some brands like Bissel (spelling?)... and Hoover. Anyone know anything about them or own one? Are the supplies for them expensive? I also want something that wont leave a residue. Thanks for any help!
- I had a Bissel and unfortunately it was dissapointing. The carpet stayed wet way to long and the hoses cracked. We only used a couple of times and it was very frustrating. Ended up throwing away. We just rent a Rug Doctor from Home Depot when we need it. It's only around $25 for 24 hours and it's industrial so it is like what the professionals use. Also-no need to store it. As far as a Hoover, never used theirs but I hate their vacuums!

- Q: My carpet is only 4 1/2 years old and in good shape with no big stains. My only complaint is that it's too light. Someone suggested having my carpet dyed a darker color, but I've never heard of anyone doing that before. Has anyone had this done before or know anyone who has? If so, what are the pro's and con's? Carpet, carpet tile, or laminate?I ask because these stupid companies (Lowes, Home Depot, etc) keep making it seem like there's a difference between carpet and carpet tile and it seems like carpet tile is cheaper.Why would it be cheaper? It actually seems like it would cost less than laminate but I have absolutely no idea why or what to look for.I'm looking for new flooring for my living room.

- automotive carpet is different than anyother carpet out there.....as of dying it.....might work but it would just be a mess and you would prob end up with dye everywhere....ie you, your clothes, where ever you do this. rit dye is very potent dye, but should work if you can find the color. ill look to see if i have an eclipse grey carpet thats in good condition.....but more than likely its going to be trashed...but ill look anyways
