Q: I stained my carpet, and I was always told to use clorox to get rid of it. I did, but now my room smells a little like clorox. Not bad. In fact, I think the smell is going away. How long will it last until the fumes are completely gone?
not good to use bleach it can dye your carpet but to get rid of the smell you have to make sure u blot out the clorox out of your carpet with a clean cloth with water that should help
Q: Hi everyone. I have a problem with my carpets. I recently bought a very nice, thin carpet. It is very detailed, thus it doesn't stay quot;flatquot;. It likes to move around and bulge. I have placed this carpet on another thick carpet. Now I need ideas to keep or stick my thin carpet on top of the thick one without damaging both of them. I dont want to glue or nail stuff done. Something quick and simple. Thanks everyone.
Herrman is the only one to get it right so far.. This are special and very thin mats that allow a rug over carpet ( or carpet over carpet). But you must get one just for this because it also comes for rugs over hard wood and rugs over a hard surface.Do NOT get the shelf liner material type this won t work properly. They come as a netting type material or a felt looking material. They grip and protect the rug from sliding and bunching up..They will collect dirt and dust naturally and all you have to do is toss in the washer on a gentle cycle and the tackiness comes back. This tackiness leaves no residue and will not harm the bottom carpet. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: (Or perhaps any rugs?)
Persia is the most famous country for rugs. But, the orient is the most favorable for wall habging. Try china or Taiwan for nice cheap wall rugs. Persian rugs as I have said are the best, but costly.
Q: Can you lay new carpet over old carpet. Because of my age and health it is not possible for me to rip out the old; but I would like to lay down some new to freshen up my computer room.
No you can t put wall to wall carpet and have it not effect the lower carpet because on the installation needed. But small area rugs and larger rugs can be used and then taken with you as you move. Special thin pads are used to help prevent the top rugs from moving and wrinkling. These to can be taken with you w/o harming the original carpet. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. Q: i have a my living room which is 23 by 18 feet then my dinning room is 11by 11 how much would it cost to carpet it that. A rouch estimate????
Hey, U.P., what's up? Sometimes we just have to be proud of the fact that even three and four year olds can use computers these days. Other times, we need to figure out how to invent a childproof locking keyboard. I mean we keep 'em out of aspirin bottles and there are trigger locks for guns. I know the computers have anti-child settings, but those are software solutions. We need a physical lock for our keyboards!
Q: without using a carpet cleaner
Here is a site that I would highly recommend. They have very high quality stain removal techniques. I would suggest repeating the process after the first application, and rinsing the rug out with cool water in between applications. Best of luck!
Q: I recently took out the carpet in my apartment. Between the carpet and the mat under that, there were thin, wispy strands off fiber-like material and quite a lot of it. Is this asbestos? Or is it normally used under carpets. Also, if it is asbestos, is my health in danger?
well, that must be some sort of carpet padding, but i suppose it depends how long ago the carpet was installed. there was a time when they used asbestos to insulate like everything. so, if the carpet was installed after the mid 80's my guess is it's not, but if it was installed before then there is a good chance it is. if it is in fact asbestos, get it out of there, that S%^ will give you cancer, or something, it's terrible for the lungs.
Q: How to pick Iran Persian carpet?
Persian carpet designs with flowers, satmentosum mosque, the palace and the hunting scenes and religious totem, used more than 10 or even dozens of lines of different colors to show grade weaving, carpet may be used up to 250 kinds of color, make people sigh for the concept of check. According to the different warp and weft weaving, the number of Persian carpet directly determines the extent of the screen and the lines, like oil painting like tapestry, most of the density up to 400~500 road.
Q: I am looking to shampoo my carpet but don't want to splash out on an expensive cleaner. Is there like a spray or can of powder or something I can buy and use myself at home to clean my carpet?
Lots of possibilities 1) In the supermarket you will find a carpet cleaner amongst all the other soaps and floor cleaners - it tends to be used for spot cleaning, spray it on leave it for the stated length of time and then vacuum it off. 2) If you want to clean the whole carpet in a room you might find a friend who has a Kirby and cant wait to lend it to you to clean your carpet. It does quite a good job and removes most of the stains but you need a three year degree course in mechanical engineering to understand the instruction manual and when you have mastered that you can only do about 6 square inches at a time before the fluid runs out and you have to disassemble everything, make up a fresh mixture ready for the next 6 square inches. Make sure you return the Kirby after borrowing it because a) it will take over your life if you keep it and (b) the owners probably had to take out a second mortgage to buy it so they will be eager for you to return it 3) Some supermarkets will rent out a large carpet cleanng mchine or 4) you could get in a professional - look in Yellow Pages for carpet cleaning - they will do a proper job fairly quickly. Good luck hope it all comes out brilliantly whatever method you choose.
Q: What happens if the seat and carpet are dirty in the car?
If the child will not pee on the seat cover or carpet, first with hot soapy water wet dishcloth, then 1:1 ammonia and water solution, soaked rag after covered in wet places, after a few minutes away cloth, wipe with wet cloth.
