- Q:Can I charge the battery (1.2Vx2) with the suction tube submerged in the water or do I have to remove the suction tube every time I have to charge the battery?
- Since you don't mention the model of the pump, if you can connect the charger with a dry connection, you should not have to remove the pump/tube. If you have to take the battery out, you stand the risk of dropping it in the water putting it back, but obviously (I think) you don't have to remove the pump/tube.
- Q:Van died on the road. It wants to turn over, but it won't start. I had it towed to Firestone. They're telling me that it needs a whole list of stuff. - Of course this can be done, not cheaply but, it can be done. Your going to have to by an X-tol tank about one gallon then a small pump, one that can handle the amount of pressure you'll need. Then, all that's necessary is the lines to the fridge.
- Q:The truck has 89k on it and i'm having the timing belt done this week; would it be wise to get the pump changed since it's in the same area, even though it's not leaking; for preventitive maintenance purposes, or is there life left in the pump? I don't want to take it back soon after if the pump does go out
- Water pump life is a direct function of proper maintenance, therefore there is no real answer to your question. At 89k you could certainly elect to replace the WP as long as the T-Belt is also being done, but it is purely a preventive maintenance item. Might save you a lot of money later, or it might not. Impossible to say. It will give you more peace of mind though.

- It should be small.There is no "downdraft" term;Do not say submersible pumps do not suck, what kind of pump is not on suction, or left and right suction

- RV section is probably under cars and transportation, others. On demand pumps are quite common and used in many RV's.

- You should look at the suction port of the pump, there is no check valve, if there is water will not flow back to the pump bodyIf the pump is not water and not bad, the main reason is that the pump does not flush water, or suction pipe into the air

- Its not hard at all but you do have to have that special tool which is around $60.00. But if you are crafty you can make your own, easily. Don't go for a rebuilt one get a new own. Make sure that it is level before putting it on. We put one on my Z71 and found out it was slightly warped and had to go exchange it after trying to get it tight enough and never could.

- not too hard of a job 1.drain radiator/block of all anti-freeze 2.remove fan shroud 3.remove serpentine belt 4.remove fan unless its electric 5.pull the hoses. 6.remove bolts holding the w/p in place 7.clean all gasket area of old gaskets 8.dry fit new w/p to make shure new pump is right part 9.put rtv gasket on block where w/p will mount 10.put rtv on new w/p 11.put new gasket on w/p 12.mount water pump and snug up the bolts do not tighten 13.after allowing rtv to set for 24hrs tourqe bolts to spec. 14.reverse steps 5 to 1 15.check for leaks.
