20KW-1200KW CE Certified Diesel Generator Power

Q: first, no power plants here.there is a siege on my country.also no engines like these which generate electricity from wind.and they keep cutting the electricity.so, I`m ready to do everything with my hands.and well, yes I can buy some basic things. like dynamo.actually everything basic thing like diode and these stuff, I can buy.I have some prior knowledge in electricity,I`m 200% ready to study and know more,I`m 200% ready to do the needed machine with my own hands.so, can you suggest any basic Ideas that may help me? and already known Ideas that can be implemented
need okorder
Q: How much power does the generator from the diesel need to produce in order to bring the train up to running speed?
That all depends upon a number of things. First is the type of traction motor that is driving the wheels. Next is the weight of the entire load to be moved by the traction motors. Also is the grade the load is being moved upon. When a locomotive gets up to speed it might not be using many amps by the traction motors to maintain the speed. However, to start from a dead stop on flat track with a very heavy load it could run as high as 200 or more amps. Again, it also would depend upon the number of engines driving the number of generators driving the number of traction motors. A single locomotive might need to use more amps to get up to speed than a combination of locomotives hauling the same load. There are many variables to this question. Given a particular locomotive, types of traction motors, the load weight, it would be easier to calculate what would be needed in amperage. Everything depends upon all of these things. An engineer can burn up a traction motor(s) by exceeding the amount of amps maximum that the motor can handle. The generators don't care, nor do they figure into the problem. The diesels don't care either. They will just turn the generators faster with more RPM's, and the faster they run, the more the generators will produce, but will the traction motors handle what is given them?? It just depends .
Q: i have 45 kva Perkins diesel generator cranks, battery is ok,does anybody know why the engine doesn't start?every think looks clear!!!please help!!!
Good, a general diesel engine similar to a Lister-Petter naturally aspirated will produce about 20 HP for an hour from one gallon of diesel. You will have acquired a few 45 gallon tank and about 28 horsepower. I`m no longer going to get my calculator out presently of night however i might advise that it might well run for 33 hours at full chat, but when the weight on it is small then greatly longer because it runs at consistent revs regardless of load, except the load is immoderate. As another be aware; A two stroke petrol is considered to produce 10 HP per hour per gallon. A 4 stroke petrol is regarded to supply 15 HP per hour per gallon. A gallon is 4.Fifty four litres. Engines with turbos equipped are an utterly exclusive story, as are latest lean burn engines. Hope that helped, high-quality of luck, Bob.
Q: I don't see why I couldn't use my car's engine as a power generator. I would only need maybe 1000 watts. The car is a 1990 Ford F350 diesel.
The easiest would be to get a heavy duty low-speed alternator (like used in police cars and cabs that spend a lot of time idling). It could put out over 1000 watts of 12 volt DC. Then get an invertor (DC-to-AC converter) rated for 1000 watts 120VAC output. If you are not using the alternator to make AC it will still do a great job on keeping your battery charged.
Q: I have a small one bed one bath home probably not over 1000ft what size portable honda generator should I buy?
okorder
Q: I am looking for the stand by large generator 15-20kw (to use all the power on one transfer switch). The problem is that stand by generator require large propane tanks (expensive to install). I would like to find a stand by generator that i could run off gasoline and use all of it available power. I think this would the most economical solution. In case of propane/natural gas the cost of propane tank installation is significant. The diesel stand by generators are significantly more expensive. So far I have found tri-fuel13kw portable generator that has several outlets. In this case not all the power can be utilized.
Well i think all stand by generator require large propane tanks, its always for optimum performance
Q: How bout you??? According to physics traction is not dependent on surface area. I'm vehicles with extremely tall wheels that absorb energy from impact run more efficiently do to lower rotating weight and driven by direct hub drive dc motors powered by small diesel generator/ solar and battery reserve. What would this look like? Who cares about looks!
I haven't been in a physics class for 20 years, so don't know what those guys are talking about. I do know race cars need more traction than normal vehicles because of the maneuvering they do at high speeds, plus an engine many times more powerful than anything we would likely need. I think of road bike and mountain bike tires; the first is so much easier to propel than the latter, but isn't very good in the mud. Most vehicles don't need wide tires, but they are a macho factor.
Q: Ford fomoco four cylinder diesel engine with a symes pump ( i think ) is there anyone out there who knows anything at all about them or has found a web site or knows anywhere to get parts or has any engine numbers i would be very great-full.
Sounds like a ford industrial unit. There SHOULD be a number or number plate somewhere on the block, generator, and/or frame. A possible search, assuming it is a generator unit, would be the GENERATOR manufacturer.
Q: I'm after a small generator (no more than 2kw)I'd like the tank to last at least 3 hours on one fill and if it were diesel and silent that would be even better. If it could also have a built in inverter (for home use) that would also be good. It's for UK power so a 3pin socket would be preferable and 230v power is a must.
Edit , never mind my previous answer , you want a D fuel gen for emergency household power Which means you will rarely use it . then by all means spend the extra $2000 to save $20 on the fuel. take care ;)
Q: What are the materials used in diesel generators
In order to make the cylinder strength wear resistance, heat resistance and high cylinder, the general use of cast iron, alloy cast iron, cast iron or high phosphorus boron cast iron, a high speed and high load diesel engine using alloy steel cylinder.
