Q:as i asked before in my question what needs to be fixed when a water pump goes bad. so finally it went bad today the car leaked all coolant and for some reason all the blades on the fan broke and the battery light came on. which is connected to the alternator belt so thats not the problem. so now does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to fix and by what i know it needs a new belt for water pump and new fan and water pump etc. taking it to mechanic monday but wanna get an estimate first from u people. any ideass thanks
Oh you found one doe 60 bucks good for you. Lot cheaper than the dealer quoted you. When a water pump job is done the fan and belt are removed anyways. So all you will have to buy is the new fan, the belt if you want. The other parts you listed are probably fine. The tech will inspect them when doing the water pump (if he's on top of things) and he'll let you know.
Q:What does the lift of a pump mean?
The pump lifts water from the surface to the highest point, such as a submersible pump working below the surface of the water. The pump head is still applied to the water level, not the water pump.
Q:I would like to know that a water pump or water motor which is of 1 hp what is the height from which it can pull water ? And also if there is a bubbling sound of air and no water is being supplied what does it mean ?
I will 'clarify' the question, then respond----- If you have a 1HP motor connected to a water pump,; what is its lifting capability ? (like raising the water UP from a well)... At or neat 'sea level', the very ideal (perfect) pump can lift water UP from 33 feet below. To be practical, considering in-efficiencies(losses) you should plan for about 25 feet of lift. Gurgling or bubbling of air/water is a good sign that the pump can not generate the vaccum-seal to begin the flow of water(priming process). You need to provide a way to prime the pump. To prime the pump, you need to supply a flow of water INTO the pump as it is running(water must be running backward into the well, then the pump will initiate the lifting process. To prevent the need to prime the pump everytime that you turn it on, you should put a check valve at the INTAKE orifice (the very end that sticks in the well). This will hold the column of water in the pipe; preventing it from running back into the well. (A check valve allows fluid to flow in one direction only....this must be connected such that the water can only flow UPWARD, out of the well. Good luck.....if you need further assistance, do email with more pump detail/specs. Make sure that the pump is rotating in the correct direction......
Q:should replace timing belt & water pump on a newly purchased used vehicle..if no records of last x changed?
It is wise to seek advise from professional mechanics as to what process you are considering to do with this vehicle. This vehicle is 2013-1994= 19/20 years old presumably in service since 1994. The miles you report as under 160,000 miles. You inquire as if you are inexperienced in automotive affairs. Well, here is my experience speaking. Any vehicle over 100,000 miles is to be suspect of wear and tear and even abuse by prior owners and they require inspection and evaluation. Engines are to be checked for compression and leaks, electrical system, corrosion, engine mounts, exhaust, transmission, coolant system, etc. etc. etc. Only a trained mechanic can do this. Unless you have receipts, records at a dealership, etc. as evidence of service and repairs, then all parts are original. You ask as to the timing chain. I expand to include everything proposing short of an engine rebuild. Cars do a lot of work and suffer deterioration each second the motor runs and each inch the car moves over the earth. IF there an inspection plate or port that provides for a viewing of the condition of the timing belt, a mechanic will know. My car, a 2001 Audi TT has that feature. Now, imagine the purchase price of this Toyota, add the expense of the inspection and possible repairs such as the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap and coolant replacement, possible a new radiator, suspension parts, exhaust parts, etc. in need of replacement, etc. and it is up to you to decide IF this vehicle is worth the expense for no matter how money you spend, the retail market value shall remain the same. That means around $2,500 to $2,700. This vehicle, as new, was not and is not now, a fuel efficient vehicle with an average MPG of 14 MPG on a good day. I do not know as to your driving needs but at 60 MPH and 14 MPG that mean each 14 miles $3.50, average, goes out the tail pipe for a nice $14.00 per HOUR cost on fuel. Kind of expensive. You choice and decision. Good luck.
Q:I have a 1995 Johnson 88 Outboard. It needs a water pump. I have everything loose except the shift rod that goes all the way through the unit How is it connected and how do I disconnect it?Thanks for your answers.
Look okorder click on electronic parts catalogue select Johnson in the dropdown box upper left hand corrner click on 1995 click on 88 click on your model number (or any model #, all 3 have the same gearcase) click on cylinder crankcase the screw you're looking for is part #47 on that chart
Q:need to know the electrical connections for a Square D water pump pressure switch..Have a quot;blacka quot;Redand the quot;ground quot;of course
The two source wires connect to L1 and L2. The two pump wires connect to T1 and T1. The grounds get grounded. When the pressure falls, the contacts pull together and connect L1 to T1, and L2 to T2, and start the pump.
Q:I was looking at a water pump and the specs said 110 Foot Max. Total Head and 20 Foot Max. Suction Lift. Can someone please explain this? Thanks.
Head is the height over the pump location that a pump can push water, suction lift is the depth it can lift it from. Picture a 130' well with the pump 20' from the bottom and 110' from the top- in that case it will pump it... but without a volume factor (how much is going to flow) it's impossible to determine whether you'll get a trickle or a flow with those conditions. The store or manufacturer should be able to supply that info. Also the heights are relevant to sea level (or actual location above sea level) not necessarily the pipe length.
Q:A pump parameter is the maximum flow per hour 960L, followed by the standard flow of 480 what do you mean?
The parameter standard of the pump factory is determined by its efficiency, that is, the efficiency of the pump is highest at that point. All parameters have two curves, that is, a flow curve and an efficiency curve. You can according to your standard flow, see how much the efficiency of the point, the maximum flow efficiency is how much will know.
Q:1998 jeep cherokee water pump
Two more things to add... 1. Buy a chilton manual. it will help and give step-by-step instructions and pictures. 2. (assuming a 4.0l 6cyl) The water pump doesn't just come off. The bolts holding the water pump also hold the AC, Alternator, and Power Steering pump. Its not a big deal, but it takes a while and you don't take these out, just lay them to the side. Personally, it was worth having the local shop do the work.
Q:I want to run 1 HP, 220 v, single phase water pump on solar panels without using any batteries. what do I need to do so amp; how do I wire it?
Several huge panels, into an inverter than can provide the required amperage. You realize the pump will only run when the panels are receiving light, don't you? While you may not wish to use batteries, without the batteries the system will only work when and if it gets enough sun to actually provide the required power. It may actually burn out the system or even the motor trying to run on less power than it needs.
