Q:it just go? I was told that my water pump had leaked at least for awhile before it went and if it had been in the garage someone competent should have noticed it. Then other people have told me No it just goes.whats accurate?
You can have a small leak for a long time before a complete failure. Some cars, it's harder to inspect the front of the block than others. It's possible that even a good mechanic wouldn't have noticed it if all he's doing is a quick oil change. You might have noticed it yourself: a water pump leak would leave you with a sweet smell after you park. You might even notice it while driving, if the fumes get pulled into the car.
Q:the car over heats and I hear the antifreeze boiling and it also leaks a small amount of antifreeze amechanic told me i need a thermostat and a new water pump just looking for second opinion.
Always fix the cheaper thing first. So do the thermostat and see if that fixes the problem. The water pump would have to be very bad to be actually causing an overheating problem. Most pumps will make a lot of noise or leak before they actually stop pumping water.
Q:I just put a thermostat in my 92 chevy but the gauge still shows close to hot but go down to normal pretty fast and occasionally i her a loud sound coming from the area where the belt is but i can't pinpoint it. I replaced the pump about three years ago, could that be it again so soon?
Water pumps normally just leak when they go bad. Some pumps have plastic impellers that can break. The way to tell if a bearing is bad, is to take the belt off and rotate all shafts by hand. Could be AC clutch bearing for example. Or listen though a length of rubber hose to pinpoint.
Q:There is a loud squeecking noise coming from the water pump and the serpentime belt isnt loose!I dont know how long it would take a mechanic to do the job?
Spray some water on the belt while it's schreeching to rule the belt out. They often make noise, even when tight.
Q:In the past 9 months, Ive went through 6 or 7 gallons of antifreeze, I was told this was not normal. Ive had my coolant tank flushed 4 times this year, only to be told thats not normal and one lasts a few years. Now that its colder outside my car takes a while to run hot of course, but during the summer it ran hot in about 15 minutes tops. I got a brand new coolant tank before I got another flush because I did have a leak, but that did not combat the problem. I had my radiator looked at and I was told thats fine. So im thinking either a cracked head gasket or a bad water pump...help please. im getting tired of putting money into this car only for the same stuff to keep happening.
You don't say 4 or 6 cyl. but you need to get a pressure test done on cooling system this will tell you where your leak is whether internal or external. Have you had the thermostat changed, rad. cap tested. I don't know why you've been dumping antifreeze in rad. without getting checked. I think you need to find a Pro. that knows what to check instead of i was told this that and the other. If V6 make sure timing cover is checked for leak, common problem. There are just so many things it could be, so see a Proffesional.
Q:I need a water pump for a 1930 Chrysler Roadster and have no idea where to get one. Any suggestions?
try JC Whitney
Q:PROline Dishwasher has Broken down, after a detailed Examination of the appliance we have managed to conclude it is the Water Pump, I'm looking to find a new one to repair it myself but would like to know if any make one would fit, as Finding a PROline Water Pump has proven Great Difficulty, Any Knowledge of the matter would be greatly appreciated, Thank you
Before you replace the pump, make sure that the hose to the pump is not blocked with food. This is a common problem. You probably have to match pump for pump. Google the part on line, they will mail it to you. OR check the yellow pages for dishwasher parts, they will answer you questions, and usually tell you how to fix it if you buy the part from them.
Q:how do i take water pump off took all hoses and bolts i think off dont know whats holdin it on how many bolt hold it on i know the seal can hold it on ther but it wont budge even when i use block of wood and tap with hammer

Q:I have gotten oil in my coolant, and coolant in my oil..It might be the head gasket, no doubt, but many people said (online forums) that my bike, has issues with the seal that is separating oil pump from water pump. They go bad, and when they do, the oil mixes with coolant and vise versa. Now, I am seeking from professional help, on how to take out both of the pumps, without messing up timing, and also without messing up anything else. I have removed the entire exhaust system, dropped the oil pan, and i can see the oil/water pump pretty good. What i do not know is how to remove it properly. Any help is help, I have searched and searched on google and forums on how to perform this task, but couldnt find any specific help on how to remove the pump. Thank you!!!!!
Take pictures make notes if you don't have a manual.
Q:When should I replace my water pump ?
usually when leaking or noisy
