Q: what is a submersible well pump?
lets break it down... submersible- able to be put underwater... well- deep hole that water comes from... pump- sucks the water...
Q: Is there a way to test and see if it is the water pump that causes the car heater to blow hot air one time and then, next time it blows cold air? We flushed the heater core and did other tests, so we do not believe it is the heater core. We left the radiator cap off and ran the car (ford thunderbird..'94) for 20 minutes and watched the antifreeze level come up, but doesn't go down, not circulating. We cannot afford to go to another garage. None of them seem to know what to do anywyas and we keep paying people to fix the heater and it is not fixed. We have put two new thremostats in car, too, figuring that maybe the first one may have been faulty, but should we try that again?
Check heater control valve ( on one of the heater hoses going into the firewall), make sure there is no vacuum leak to it or the heat door. Does air blow on the floor when your heater is on? When you slide or turn the temp selector on your control panel you either move a cable or supply vacuum to a door that shifts air flow from vent to floor, is this happening?
Q: I am looking for foot peddals and one of those pumps that you can use to pump excess water out of the cockpit..... any Ideas where to look for the cheapest of both...I checked Dunhams and *****.
Hi, okorder /
Q: I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX and i recently took it in to have its timing belt and water pump replaced. Since then, I have noticed a change in the cars performance. I have lost both gas mileage and power since i took my car in. The maintenance supposedly took the dealer twelve hours to complete which seemed a little odd to me. Do you think this is linked? I just remember getting a lot more miles to a tank of gas, and my car was about the same speed as a friend of mine's who now smokes me. Thank You.
12 hours on a civic DX. I am a honda mechanic and I will say that this job only takes 2 hours, 4 hours if your slow and never done it before. Mind you this includes timing belt, water pump, cam seal, crankshaft seal, serpentine belts, valve cover gasket, spark plugs if needed, Honda coolant, and valve adjustment. If you are 1 tooth off on timing your Honda will run, but it will run very rough. Sounds to me like they may have the timing 1 tooth off, 2 teeth off and the car just wont run and if it does it will barely run. This car needs to be taken back and everything i told you should have been done and done properly. What probably happened is the dealer let an apprentice work on the car, since this civic is the easiest to do a timing belt on. However its still their fault that it was not done properly.
Q: I installed a circulating pump in the far bathroom, since the length to the water heater made for a long wait. It takes 25 seconds for the hot water to arrive, which means 25 seconds of hot water wasted, once the water is shut off.Is it cheaper to, selectively(2 settings on timer) run the pump, or just wait on the hot water? And without the consideration, that time equals money. I imagine the more people that use it, the more efficient it gets.
If you mean your hot water heater is not heating as fast as it should be, is there anything wrong with the heater itself? Is the temperature setting proper? It sounds like you may mean it is just taking a long time for the hot water to get to the faucet. A lot of things can factor into that: --long pipe runs --colder winter temperature --less insulation of pipes The only things I can think of to reduce waste are: --making sure that all hot water tasks are done at about the same time, e.g., baths one after another, so the water cannot cool off in the pipes between bathers; --water heater timer or install a tankless water heater or two; --not running the water the whole time in the shower, e.g., wet down, turn off water, soap up, rrinse. --keeping buckets to fill with the cooler water, then using that water for plant watering, the first cycle in a clothes washer, or toilet flushing.
Q: What is the part called on a water pump that does the actual water moving. I want only this part to make my own water pump using a different motor and pulley. This is for lifting water 18' high and circulating through 1/2 to 3/4 inch pipe. Hoping to get about 6 gl per min
The impeller.
Q: I know what is the role of the pressurized water pump adapter to the indoor fire pipe through the fire, then the fire truck to the indoor water supply when the water is pressurized by municipal pipelines, natural water, fire water or water itself injection pump adapter? The fire truck is equivalent to a pump from the water extraction and then injected into the water pump adapter? I haven't seen it with my own eyes, so ask, I hope someone will answerIs the fire engine to be used as a pump? For example, in the field of water from fire pool or when municipal water supply network, a head of extraction, the other end of the water pump adapter access outdoor indoor pressure? PS: I'm not referring to the high-pressure water pump adapter, but access.
They answered almost enough, and I would not answer them, and give them to them
Q: I have a water pump that works with 12V and 2 amps.I was thinking to get a potentiometer to be able to slow down the speed. Is this the best way to do it? What wattage should it have, so it doesn't burn out, and what should be the maximum resistance, to be able to stop the pump completely? And OKorder or product link would be great! Thanks!
A potentiometer will work, and this could be wired in series with the pump as long as its minimum resistance was zero ohms. You can also use an adjustable voltage regulator which would likely be more energy efficient but a more complex device. A potentiometer or regulator would need to have a minimal rating of 12V * 2A = 24 watts. A potentiometer, that is made for 12 volt applications, should be available at a local auto parts store. It has a simple, ceramic insulated, wire-wound resistor, and should have a 5 to 10 amp rating Sources below are to more sophisticated controllers than a simple potentiometer.
Q: I have replaced my water heater and water pump because the owner before me didnt drain it over the winter... but know the water suputers when the pump is on.. when I hook up to city water it works great.. I have not been able to find any leaks.. any ideas???
A lot of the pumps for RVs do cause a slight sputter, Try compleatly filling the water tank, then turning the pump on,. Allow a few minutes to build up pressure and fill the hot water tank, If the sputtering slows, or compleatly stops, your ok. You have to remember that a lot of after market pumps don't work quite as well as an OEM pump. If it's a real bad sputtering, You might need to return the pump.
