- Q:We purchased the recommended pad for use on carpeted areas. The problem is that the wrinkles are pronounced/high. This diminishes the attractiveness and safety of the new rug.The rug was tightly rolled for shipping. It was laid across a bed for 4-5 days allowing the edges to hang hoping to straighten and smooth out these wrinkles. One trick to help avoid the marks , no matter what type of carpet is to move these pcs of furniture once a week , just a few inches and vacuum over the spot to pull them back up.. GL
