- Measure from the horses centre of chest to his tail and that will be the length of the rug. It does not make much difference height wise because some horses will have longer or shorter backs.

- Really depends whether your time/effort or your money is more valuable to you. If you have the time and don't mind the work, the Rug Doctor will work fine for your needs. They're easy to use and the do an OK job of spiffing up the carpet. Visually, anyway. A service will have more powerful equipment and will get the carpet cleaner ... no effort on your part ... but is definitely more expensive. Since you're leaving the apartment, do you really care if the carpet is deep-clean? I know I wouldn't! The next tenant will probably clean the carpet before he/she moves in, anyway.
- Q: what do they mean when it says you have to quot;stretchquot; a carpet you are laying?
- You can use the kicker like #2 said but a true stretch will use either the correct stretch which is a long pole w/ teeth on 1 end and the tighten it till the carpet is taunt.. Some newer carpets can be stretched in w/ a crab stretcher.. That is ok on some carpets.. DON T let any one install by just a knee kicker you ll have wrinkles in the carpet within a year or 2.. And it can still happen on occasion w/ a stretcher but it s rare.. GL
- Q: so i accidentally got some nailpolish on my carpet any ideas for how to get it out?
- It is simply amazing how often nail polish makes it onto carpet, or furniture, instead of nails, lol I'm afraid the attitude towards nail polish is entirely too lax... here is why... Carpets these days are made of synthetic fibers.... and when you try to use nail polish remover to remove nail polish, it WILL DAMAGE THE CARPET FIBERS. This results in fibers melting (chemically) or being permanently stained! Nail polish removers often contain Acetone. Acetone is a very harsh and effective chemical stripper -- it will not only damage carpet fibers, but it will also damage vinyl tile, and wood finishes of all sorts. I'm afraid your best bet at this point, is to try to scrape the nail polish out, or have that section of carpet removed, and replaced. A good carpet tech can patch the section for you, but it may still be a noticable patch. Unless you want to make a habit of cutting holes in your carpet, I'd advise a little more care when handling the nail polish, heheheh ;) Good Luck

- To clean the carpets, you'll have to use a steam cleaning machine. I would also suggest using cat NO! on the area - once it's marked, no matter how much you clean it - they will come back....using the cat NO! will assist in keeping the cat away. Are you cleaning out your litterbox daily, and adding new litter to replace the old? Is there enough litter in there? There should be 3-4 inches. Do you have enough litterboxes if you have more than one cat? Ideally you should have 1 box per cat, and if you live in a multistory - one box minimum on each floor (including a basement). If you are putting in any additives, make sure they don't have a smell - what smells good to us, may be offensive to a cat. And finally, do not put your litterbox near the cats food - would you want to eat in a smelly bathroom? The only other reason for a cat to spray is it's un-neutered, or it's feeling stressed or anxious, or there is a health issue.
- Q: We live in a really modern apartment- it was once a warehouse and they developed them into apartments with exposed pipes and such. We just got some couches... they are destressed black so sometimes they look really dark brown in the light, but they are black. We have the original oak floors with all the scrapes and knots in the them. We have dark wood for all of our furniture. We are trying to figure out a color scheme for the living room and more importantly a rug that would go. Any advice would be great! - Open and airy can soon become dark and closed in if everything you put into a room is dark. There are plenty of rugs that have brown in them but aren't all brown. If the couches look brown work with that. Here's a link to look at rugs. Maybe find one you like and print a copy and put it up against the couch. Good luck!

- What colour is the carpet? When we moved into our house there was a very dark brown stain in the middle of the pink carpet. We'd had the carpets cleaned but it remained. I got some bleach and a pink Chux (I don't know whether you have this product where you are but it is a think cleaning cloth). The bleach removed the stain out of the carpet and the pink from the Chux was transferred to the carpet. You can now not tell at all where the stain was.
