Q:I have a white berber carpet in my room, and it has these gross grayish areas that are probably from dirt and what not . Also, my nauseous doggy sleeps on my bed and I have his various, dried throw up stains in it too. I've tried orange Goo Gone on everything , and it didnt work . I would like something that's pretty cheap that I could buy at like a local Walmart/Target, deep cleaning , pet safe , works on berber carpet , and isent a ton of hastle. I mean I don't mind getting on my hands and knees working stuff in , but nothing too extreme. I just want my carpet clean!!I don't want to have to rent a carpet cleaner , so I'm curious . Q:I sopped it up with paper towels... should I do more? Will it ruin the carpet? Also, I'm getting a new puppy tomorrow... I don't want the nail polish remover in the carpet to poison it if he licks the carpet...: I would suggest renting a carpet washer to clean up any excess. Polish remover does evaporate though, so you may notice a lot more of the smell in the air as it does if you don't clean the carpet. Polish remover - especially acetone polish remover - is a solvent and if the carpet is synthetic, it may cause it to break down and melt, though you'd probably have noticed that effect already. I know that it will dissolve certain finishes on wood surfaces though...

Q:what is better cheaper?Linolium or Carpet?Where should I look for no glue linoleum?: lino is ok for bathrooms and smaller rooms,but carpet is good for living rooms and such ,there is different qualities of both lino and carpets

Q:It looks like rust, or a burn on a cotton rug. Oxy clean and hydrogen peroxide won't touch it: If the stain is rust, bleaches like OxiClean won't work. Rust is oxidation, and bleaches oxidize further. You need a mild acid. If the rug is machine washable, try pouring white vinegar onto the mark. Let that sit for about 10 minutes. Then launder. If this doesn't work, try using Iron Out. You can find Iron Out at most hardware stores. Home Depot also carries it. Follow the directions on the package. Naturally, if the rug is not machine-washable, take it to a dry cleaner. Hope this helps. -

Q:I need to clean my sage green carpet.....they look bad. Does the Rug Doctor work? How much does it cost? Does it make the carpet very wet? Would it be best IF I do get it to use it when I can have windows and doors open so it would air out? I really wanna clean my carpet because it is driving me crazy. If the Rug Doctor doesn't work could you tell me one that will?? Thanks a lot ppl.: I have used them many years ago before I bought my own steam cleaner. They are fine and not all that expensive. Like any steam cleaner it applies soap and water and then sucks it out of the carpet leaving the carpet damp not wet. No you don't have to leave windows open. When it is done the carpet is barely even damp if done right. I much prefer my own steam cleaner or at times hiring Stanley Steemer for a whole house job. But the rentals work fine for the money. They also offer upholstery cleaner so it's a great way to clean your furniture at the same time.

Q:How to deal with the color of rose petals on the carpet?: You can only clean it by several times. There is no possibility to remove it one time by diluted oxalic acid. You must be careful that each time to clean it with a large amount of water, and the stain will be lighter after a time's cleaning, with a absorbent cloth to absorb water , repeat several times. One-time removal is impossible, you should ensure that the dilution will not make the carpet colors fall off

Q:Grr Overstock wont ship here so i had a 8x10 ft rug shipped to my Moms house...from there I was going to pay to have it shipped here to Guam. But no Fedex wouldnt ship it and UPS either the dementions are either too small or too big. =( then i got hopeful bc a neighbor said OKorder ships here. Q:Had sears come out twice to clean the carpet. Its a special carpet that Im keeping but the smell of urine is strong. I have had people out twice using a pet deodorizer on it and steam cleaning it numerous times already? Is there a certain product that I can use or something else because im trying to save this rug. Opinions and advice would be appreciated thank you!(Main issue is getting the smell out of the rug it really stinks bad!): This rug has had topical cleaning treatments, however, it has not been soaked in enzymes for several hours or overnight, rinsed, dried, and left to air out in the sun. Dogs, and even cats, will pee on wool rugs because they sense another animal in there territory. They will do this numerous times once they start making the cleaning project a real challenge. This rug, if valuable, needs to go to a shop for special treatment, if the pets are still part of the equation, do not place it on the floor or the peeing will start over, guaranteed.

Q:Should the couch sit on top of the rug completely or should the rug be in front of the couch?: for that large of a room, you could have a floating arrangement - if that is the case, the rug should be large enough to come out past each piece of furniture by nearly 2 feet. if you have part of your furniture grouping against a wall, the rug should go approximately halfway under the sofa (and everything else). if a tv is a factor (which likely means it has to be against a wall), it is appropriate to have the rug tuck under the tv cabinet a little bit, or for the rug to end a little bit before the cabinet/console/whatever. that's the best i can do without seeing the room and drawing a space plan! hope it helps
