Q: The bed set I want is dark purple with a black zebra design on it, and most the things in my room are purple or turning purple. My walls are tan and will have to stay that way for awhile. So what color would look good with my bedset and room, I dont really want like a zebra patterned rug, but if you think it would look good tell me! Q: My roommate used a rug doctor to clean the carpet, she is a complete cleaning novice, and did it while i was at work. She sprayed to much of the cleaning liquid and left us with slightly damp carpet, it now smells. I have been spraying it with febreeze, but it doesn't seem to be helping too much.I was planning a dinner for some friends on friday night, but it's just embarrassing. Is there anyway i can at least minimize the smell by then?: I can suggest this,. Q: I purchased a very beautiful antique rug 2 days ago. The rug had been locked away in storage for years. It has a relatively strong musty odor. It is too delicate for professional deep cleaning. I have gently beaten it to remove dust, and now have it hanging in an open garage. I sprayed it with Febreze, but that only helps for a few minutes. Do you think it just needs to air out and give it time or is there something safe I can use on it? It is huge, like 10ft x 14 ft. No deep cleaners will touch it because they fear they will damage it. Help anyone! Thank you.: I have many antique and vintage rugs which came to me really smelling bad. The one thing you can do to absorb the odor without damaging the fiber is to sprinkle it with baking soda and letting it sit, vacuuming it up and reapplying until the odor is absorbed. I have tried airing them out and have found that most of them that are natural fibers (like wool and silk) just don't smell good still when put indoors in a closed room and further, if you live in a smoggy, dusty or hazy area like I do, they simply pick up other odors from the environment. I have found treating both sides with the baking soda helps, too, because the backing particularly if it is a natural fiber, is also impregnated with the same odor as the fibers.

And then, anytime the cat makes that move (touching the scratcher) give it a reward, like it's favourite food. In time it should work out fine. All living creatures are designed to learn from the enviroment, so the cat will learn from you, especially since it's you who has all the food, and that's what it's all about. It work did, with my cat (it used to scratch the furniture legs). I hope it answered to something. (my cat also learned to run beside me, when i go jogging - but just around the house)

Q: I just moved into a 1st floor/basement apartment. Its currently has tile floors wich are nice but are extremely cold to walk on in the winter. I was thinking about putting carpet down until I stumbled across carpet tiles in home depot. Since im renting I dont want to damage the current ceramic tile floor, should I lay down regular carpet or use carpet tiles? I don't care about grout lines and i dont want anything glued to the floor. It doesnt need to be the best job I will more then likely do it myself. If I lay regular carpet do I need padding? Or if I use carpet tiles, what kind of barrier should I have between the current floor and the carpet to proctect the ceramic tiles?: I'd be more inclined to just get a roll of second hand used carpet cut to the size of the room tack it down around the edges against the walls making it easy to vacuum , so as the vacuum cleaner doesn't lift the carpet as you move about while cleaning. It would be a good idea to also obtain some underlay to help retain the heat in the room, co's just plain carpet won't keep the heat in, you need something under it! (that's why they sell the stuff) Cheers!!

Q: I have a large oriental rug that needs fringe. On one end, the fringe has been cut off completely. The other end has a few inches of the mesh rug backing at the end. Is there a way to add fringe and make it look fairly original to the rug?: If the rug is valuable, don't do anything! If it's a cheap one, sew on new fringe, but make sure you replace the fringe on the other side, to match

Q: My female Tabby kitten almost 1 year always licks the carpet. Why and what should i do about this to make her stop?: Anemia, had a cat that licked the screen and cement, put her down had that feline virus , just before I found a homeless kitten in the middle of winter, was going to find him a home but fell in love, tried hard to keep the two apart, now 2 years later this cat licks the carpet on front porch, and just different eating habits, ect, looks anemic, pick nose is white now, cats with feline virus are anemic, 2 days after I got the kitten, went to get the feline shot to protect him, but instead they gave him the normal shots kittens would get, not the feline shot , I was so so mad, I wanted this so he would not catch the virus, the vet said the shot does not protect against the virus anyways, had to put mom and daugther down, the thought of doing this again kills me. Anyways if your cat does not have the virus, it has to be something lacking in the diet. Sad now. Have to get cat tested, on top of that he has a bladder infection, poor thing, cannot take this no more.

Q: What is dornier carpet: It is not as thick as wool quality, want to pursue more beautiful texture, washing pattern is beautiful mainly bacause the material is cotton and can be washed, don't buy carpet with good feet feeling, decorative pattern is relatively various and price is low, but the shortcoming is it's too thin.

Q: So I spilled red juice on my carpet last night and thought it would be a good idea to clean it up using bleach and clear soda. Needless to say the bleach kind of messed up the carpet. Is there any way to pull out any of the bleach or to make the stain a little less noticeable? PLEASE HELP!!
