Traditional carpet is not really in my budget, so I was thinking carpet tiles, I really have no idea about them so all the info will help. - Ideally, you need a sub-floor for carpet tiles. If you have hardwoods, you can ruin them with carpet tiles. Otherwise, I have carpet tiles in my attic, which is my kids bedrooms. I went with that style intentionally because they love anime and we went with an Asian decor. Here is where I also admit that the builders put in a sub-floor for us and gave us the carpet tiles for free...lol I love them. One of my husbands friends is a very handy person and helps with all the DIY, so he helped to lay them. There are no seams and I think they are perfect. Carpet companies usually have some carpet that they will sell for cheap. We had them lay a plaid carpet in our basement because it was good quality, but wasn't selling because its plaid. I love it. Its off white with navy and black lines. Perfect for our exercise room, my sewing room.and under the pool table. Made us get blue felt for the pool table and I think it's beautiful. Check with them.

- Hi, Value of a rug depends various factors 1.)Whether it is hand made or not? A) If hand made is it hand knotted or hand tufted? I am assuming that it is hand knotted, then the value depends on knots per square inch, the quality of the wool, the design, the worksmanship and finally the size. One more thing, carpet retailer often make this mistake; there is no such thing as 'BIJAR' its Bidjar. Indo-Bidjar rugs are usually made of 10x10 or 11x11 quality and this will have a retail value of 50-60 USD per SQ FT. Your rug has a square footage of 54 making its price fall in the range of 2700-3240 USD. Again, this is based on my assumptions. This is the fair value retail price. Now, some retailers like to keep a higher listing price and then give occasional discounts while some retailers do not like to do so. So its possible that some one might sell the same stuff for USD 4000. The 600 Dollar rug cannot be hand knotted. It must be hand tufted or something, as for this amount the rug is sold in India and when when add to this the retailers, wholesalers, importers margins; the price increases dramatically. If you can upload a picture of the rug, with a close up of the back side of the rug as well , I can provide you with much more information on its make as well as expected retail value.

- Used them many times and they are very reasonably priced. If you aren't moving your furniture (which we didn't) make sure they put everything up on blocks so as not to stain the carpets until they dry. It's a normal procedure for them but they can mess up and your wood or fabric that touches the wet carpet will stain it. When they are done your carpets should only be damp and not wet to the touch. If they are wet don't let them leave until the carpets are only damp. Stanley Steemer is a franchise operation so not all franchises are great. I use them for a whole house cleaning but use my own steam cleaner much more often. I have saved a lot of money by owning my own steam cleaning machine which is a Bissell. I can keep up on carpet cleaning routinely as opposed to waiting until the carpets are in dire need. I would recommend after you use Stanley to buy your own cleaner.

- You generally get what you pay for of course. Look for wear and stain blocker warranties. Longer warranties is a better carpet. Don t buy the notion of the big brand stain blockers are better, They are all the same. You don t pay for the advertising dollars of the no name stain blocker. Thickness in carpet only counts in the amount of yarns per square inch . Thickness in tallness do not always make a better carpet. Its the twists per thread length that make the better carpet. The actual truth is the shorter, the tighter ( twists) the better the carpet.And if the twists are heat set in. Ask a salesperson about this. If they know or can look it up then talk more with them.
