- Q: i want to knit or crochet a rectangular rug for my room not too big but not too small. ive looked on the internet but the ones i like are too hard and the rest are nothing but granny squares or look like over sized doilies =( please help me find classy yet kinda simple patterns.. pictures would help
- One of the problems with substituting other yarn for rug yarn is that rug yarn is generally more resilient because you need to be able to walk on it, however, I have done some latch-hook work and have found that chunky 16 ply yarns are similar in thickness to 6 ply rug yarn and are therefore a reasonable substitute. 3 or 4 strands of knitting yarn may also give you a similar thickness and may work for you purposes but won't have the same resilience as proper rug yarn.
- Q: I purchase a carpet recently near about 3 month form someday ..
- I would advise you to rent a carpet cleaner professional so that your carpet stuff is looking like a novel.
- Q: what is better cheaper?Linolium or Carpet?Where should I look for no glue linoleum?
- Stores should carry both, but the question is really which is going to hold up better and easier to clean.
- Q: i got probably the worst rug burn ever! it broke the skin in two main places. i bled a bit and it stayed red for hours its two days later and my skin around my eye (where i got it) is turning this really sick shade of brownish green. my dad said it'll turn into a bruse and go away after about a week and a half. please dont tell me this is true because i have my senoir pictures to take and i already made the appointment. i made the date for next wensday.
- Brownish green is a sign of bruising, which wouldn't be surprising if the rug burn is as bad as you say. That would mean that on top of your rug burn, you got the classic black eye. And that won't go away for a few days...sorry. You should know for sure in a day or two. If you have a genuine shiner, you have two options. 1. See if you can have your appointment moved. If you explain that you have a mild facial injury with some bruising that will clear in another week, they might be more sympathetic than if you just told them you want to move your appointment. 2. Use makeup to cover it up. I'm serious, that's what a professional actor or news reporter would do. If you're absolutely clueless as to how to go about this, see if you can get one of the women in your life to help. (If you weren't acting like a total doofus when you got the rug burn, you can probably milk this for some sympathy.)
- Q: I don't have the cash to rent a rug doctor. I have a large white rug in my living room and I guess from walking around the house with no socks on, there is a 2'x6' area that is darker than the rest, along with a few stains from spilled drinks.I have a bottle of some carpet cleaning foam with a cheap scrubber on the end but it's just too small to cover that large of an area.So I'm thinking a bucket and a rag might be the best option. I have since bought a small bathroom size mat over the area my feet go on but I'd like to clean it still. So maybe a bucket of warm water with a dab of dishwashing liquid detergent? Or some baking soda?I also don't want to get so many suds in there to where I have to keep scrubbing with a rag and water only 5-10 times to get all the cleanser out.Any ideas?
- If okorder . Carpeting is an expensive investment, you should take care of it. Dishwashing soap normally is colored, these dyes can redye your carpet if you administer it in the cleaning process. Use only clear or white dish soap if you are bold enough to try this your self. The bottom of your socks is probably where the dirt is coming from. Keep a pair of slippers available, preferably without black hard foam soles, and wear them inside the home.
- Q: My landlord recently replaced my nasty old carpet, but this new one isn't that great either. It got flat almost immediately, granted we also have kids, and I want to fluff it back up but I haven't been very successful. I sweep it after I vacuum so I can get it soft and fluffy but it takes ALOT of work and doesn't last for more than a couple of hours. Anybody know how to help?
- Your carpet is probably Polyester, made from recycled plastic bottles. It is often times made to look like Nylon carpet, however, it does not stand up to traffic and eventually will not stand up at all. This carpet is fairly inexpensive and therefore attractive to landlords. They are reluctant to have expensive Nylon carpet installed because the chances of it being permanently abused and stained by renters is great. We find quality carpet in only the higher end apartments where the people who can afford the higher rent are normally better educated and easier on the premises as a whole. You, no doubt are a careful renter, however, the law of averages is at work here. Call a carpet cleaner and purchase a grooming rake from them, it may help somewhat.
- Q: I have a plain, off-white area rug that I want to dress up a little. I got the idea from a home improvement show where they used paint for the same purpose, but I don't remember the details such as what kind of paint they used or how they were able to completely cover the area desired without having the paint bleed into the rest of the rug. Anyone done this before? Tips?
- On HGTV I heard you can paint a rug with Latex paint. You can always go to your home improvement store and ask them, even call them. It was Design Remix, the show that I saw them do it, and it was Latex paint that they used and they said you can paint any rug with it. I would write down what the rug's made out of and call the company of the paint and ask them if you can use it on a rug before doing it. You don't want to use it and have it ruined. I'm thinking as long as it's not a carpet kind of rug, you should be fine. I hope this helps!
- Q: best way to get red ink out of a white rug ?
- Rubbing Alcohol takes out pen ink. Maybe it will work on red ink too.
- Q: theres a rug on ikea im interested in its 195 by 150 however the space i need to fill is 131 by 82 can i cut the rug and fit it into the area will it fray ? from the HEMNES range
- You mark and cut the rug from the backside. Use a razor-knifem or drywall knife which is razor sharp. It won't fray if the rug is fitted tight against the wall. You can just cut it and leave it or you can put a glue on it like carpenters white glue and let it dry out. It dries clear. Make sure all your cuts are complete, including the pink carpet material.
- Q: which is best for a bearded dragon? sand or cage carpet? thanks
- Either one is fine, but the BD could eat the sand which could cause digestion problems. I would recommend the cage carpet.
