If you have not damaged the carpet dyes, consider your self lucky. all professional carpet cleaners throughout the world will treat a stain, with the appropriate spotter, and then rinse and extract the spotter and the spill, or what ever, from the carpet fibers. What ever you put into the carpet needs to be removed. When you shampoo, most people I know, will rinse the shampoo from the hair. Mission accomplished.
- Q: I recently had an incident with my toddler and a light candle. The wax went all over the carpet.. bright red wax, and white carpet. I have tried using a carpet cleaner and hand scrubbing it with a brush. Any ideas how to get it out? Thanks
- Pick off as much wax as possible. Use a knife if it helps. Chill the wax with ice to remove more of the excess. Move on to the next step once you can't get any more wax off without damaging the carpet. Lay a paper bag or piece of newspaper over the carpet. Use an iron on the lowest setting to heat the wax. If you don't have an iron you can use a hair dryer. When it melts, the wax will seep into the paper and away from the carpet. Change the paper as needed until all of the wax is absorbed. Apply rubbing alcohol to any areas that are stained with dye from the wax. Use a clean paper towel to wipe off the dye and wax until the towel comes off clean. Rinse the area with clean water. You can use a clean, wet rag or a spray bottle. Dry the carpet immediately to decrease the risk of staining. Use a fan to help speed up the process.
- Q: We have an area rug over a carpet, no rubber underlaying, it's just a rug over a carpet. The rug is starting to curl/crease/wrinkle in the middle. Why is that? It was a fairly cheap rug. Is that why? Or because we have nothing under it but carpet? Something else?

- Q: My cat likes to back her rear end up to the edge of the litter box, resulting in her 'missing the target' and getting cat urine on my carpet. She also likes to kick the litter out of the box.In using a carpet cleaner, some of the litter left a grey-ish stain on my tan carpet. As we are renting this home, new carpet is not an option.Would a Rug Doctor remove this stain? Would it just make the stain worse, by getting more of the litter wet?
- I don't think the carpet cleaner will make it worse, but the urine may have soaked into the padding subfloor. Could you get a covered litter box. Our cat also had the same prob I replaced the tray with a covered box there is no longer the 'missing the box' prob the litter around the box is only from tracking, not kicking. If you think kitty cannot or will not use a new box, then you could invest in a high-quality doormat type little rug--like the ones people put in front of the exterior doors for wiping their feet. These rugs have water-proof backing so the urine will not soak through. Then all you have to do is rinse it off with the hose outside or wash on 'gentle' in the washing machine line dry. The backing will eventually crumble by washing it in the machine, that's why I suggest hosing it off outside. But you could also use Rug Doc to clean it periodically or invest (or ask for X-mas or your b-day) for a carpet cleaner or Spot Bot. Anything else will just get soaked through still get to the carpet. You could always put a tarp under the litter box. Sorry about the long post. I have 8 cats have been dealing with cat problems for the last 7 years. I found what works best for me I like to share the info.

- Your accent rug is new and it generally rolls back as it was rolled when stored before installation. Try curling it the opposite way and leave in that condition for some time..When you open it again hopefully your accent rug lies straight.. Fix it and you're good to go! Cheers!

- Carpeting can be too soft and slippery, and using yoga mats on carpet can be problematic because they tend to bunch up and are often feel too “squishy”. If you’re experiencing these problems then you might be interested in the LifeBoard. But my advice is that it is not good to practice yoga by seeing dvd or something like that. Better to praise under the guidance of a guide. :)
