At the rate things are going, I will have cleaned my 1,000,000th sq ft sometime in October. Since most of this is hot water extraction and I use about 1 gallon per 25-30 sq ft, I have already seen well over 30,000 gallons of waste water and it NEVER ceases to amaze me how much filth and odor is in the water. I rinse the waste tank out a little between each job and completely at the end of the day because the stench from the vacuum fan exhaust (which is very high on a commercial machine) absolutely will gag you. If I do a dog urine job, the rest of the day customers complain about the odor because it has only been rinsed a little. Carpets, rugs and other household textiles are great filters and they absorb so much. People with hardwood floors think this is cleaner, not true, same dirt, less to trap it. - As noted by others: good diet. I do not agree with other comments that say it is normal to shed all the time. Spitz breeds have a double coat, they should be shedding in spring and fall, to prepare for different seasons. To shorten the shedding period, give a warmish bath (not TOO warm) to loosen hair and dry using a force dryer. If you don't have a force dryer, go to a grooming shop. Do NOT use a human hair dryer, it is only going to dry his skin. The force dryer blasts the water and loose hair out. Once that is done, prepare yourself for about an hour of brushing. Use a teflon coated rake (single line, short teeth). I like to finish with a Zoom Groom (rubber fingers). I HATE furminators - they are a razor with a handle - they cut the hair off, they do not remove from the root (which is what shedding is all about - total loss of the entire hair shaft). Once you do this big groom, weekly brushing should be sufficient. You will always have to vaccuum, but it shouldn't need to be a daily thing.

- it should be okay to put in the washer, but i wouldnt put it into the dryer in case it might fray in the dryer. i would wash in cold water, then hang or lay out to dry.

No, you may not install wall to wall carpeting over a laminate floor. It would be a mess and a headache you don't want. It's a floating floor it's not attached to the floor pick up the laminate and foam and throw it away. Loose lay or double faced tape idea is the only option to leave laminate in place if for some reason it's a have to situation that I can truly understand. Your manufacture's warranty's are in place for a reason. To give you a length of time to expect your carpeting to last. With proper installation methods. Including a wear warranty and texture retention warranty. Both of those would be void if the carpet is not installed with a minimum 6 lb density foam pad for cut pile carpet or 20oz felt pad for looped carpet over a stable substrate. Unless of course it is installed using a gluedown method with an adhesive. I don't believe you would be able to find a glue that would adhere to the laminate surface without being really toxic. - I use homemade carpet cleaner in my Bissell ProHeat. I grate a bar of Zote--or use 1 Tbsp. Zote flakes mix with about 2 cups hot water. You would want the mix to sit for a while, or even put it in a jar shake it, to get the chunks/flakes to dissolve. I use this recipe find it is just as good, if not better, than the expensive store-bought stuff.
