Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q: i personally don't like carpet cause it gets crappy looking so easy with stains
Totally with you there. We moved into a new place with all hardwoods and we have not even thought of a rug other than those to wipe your feet on at the door. My mom thinks they are cold and we are crazy. I can breathe and they are so much easier to take care of!
Q: My son dropped the mustard jar it exploded.....It's pink plush carpeting now it has yellow orange streaks....How do I get it out?
There are lots of carpet cleaners that will get the stain out, but the one that I can always rely on is the Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner. It's like a vacuum that sucks up the stains! And not only can you use it on the mustard stain, but you can use it on your whole carpet. It's probably your only hope right now, because mustard dyes carpet for good. You can find one at Home Depot, Lowes, Bloom, or Shoppers Food Warehouse. Satisfaction guaranteed. Best of luck!!! ?
Q: I have pets. Is it okay to have a solid floor, like tile or terrazo, on my living room floor and just put a big rug on it instead of carpet? Do you thik that will hurt the resale value of the home?
I would prefer terrazo flooring. Most of my life, I've lived in homes with wall to wall carpeting -- I hate it. You can't easily change colors, decor and the floors never gets really clean unless you rip out the rug and install a new one. I prefer area rugs (flexibility possibility to remove) over stone, tile, or wooden floors. Easier to clean thoroughly and preferred if someone in the household suffers from allergies. Also, if the home is being shown to prospective buyers, clean rugs don't hold objectionable odors or the animal scent that might make the house harder to sell.
Q: We have a wall-to-wall berber carpet, and we want to make it into a smaller area rug (perhaps 9'7quot; x 11quot;). Has anyone done this sort of thing before? If so, what was the approximate cost, and who did you call to service it? I tried some local carpet stores to no avail. Thanks for your input.
Local carpet stores don t have access to a rug binder? Thats strange.. Look further, when I had my store we had a place that picked up and dropped off our carpet we needed to have bound or surged..It was a week turn around time for us. But to answer you question yes you can have a pc done any size , shape or form. Some additional options are a felt backing sewn on as an anti slip mat.Surging ran our custumers about 2.5 $ a l/f. and binding was $2.00 a l/f.. Of course this can vary but it ll put you in the ballpark , price wise.. Some carpet guys have a binding machine to bind edges for when they do a carpet base like a lot of hotels use instead of a wood base.Any flooring questions you can e mail me through my avatar.. GL.
Q: My carpets aren't exactly dirty but I always have people over and there is a lot traffic dirt where you can see the people walk a lot.My question is how can I clean the carpets really well? I have resolve foaming spray but I was just wondering if you had any other ideas. Thanks!
Carpeting okorder . Think about it for a second, when you put shampoo in your hair, do you not rinse it out. Many products on the market are a rip off, and this foaming spray is one of them. The carpet needs to be hot water rinsed and extracted to come clean, and no, this does not hurt the carpet.
Q: I'm going to remove laminate that's already on it, I was wondering, before installing this carpet, I'm going to have Luna do it since they install it for free.Do I need anything under the carpet/on the floor before they install the carpet?(I heard people put wood or baseboard or something under the carpet, then like some soft pads or something. Anyone have more information?)I really want to get this done right for my home office, thanks.
I don't know much, but I would install some sort of padding under the carpet - the floor people should do it with the installation of the carpet (if you purchase it from them). The company you purchase the carpet from should also know this. Good luck! PS - get a thickness of padding that goes with your carpet - plush carpet may need less padding. One thing things to consider - Is there enough height under my door to fit carpet and padding? (Or will I have to cut the door down?) Also, if you don't have a thin and hard carpet, then you will have to get a plastic-floor thing to roll your chair on (if you have a rolling char).
Q: I've just bought a 15.2hh Welsh Section D! :) He's my first horse and he didn't come with any rugs, so I need to buy them all! He'll be stabled at night and out during the day.I plan to buy: two fleeces, a show fleece, a medium weight stable rug, a lightweight turnout and a mediumweight turnout rug. Will he be warm enough?
If you really think you need a turnout rug for your Welsh Cob then you will need to measure him. My loan pony is a Welsh Section D and she doesn't need a rug she is absouloutley fine Welsh Section D's don't have turnout rugs in the wild and they don't need them (unless your horse is clipped) But I think a show fleece and a stable rug would be a good idea xx
Q: Commonly used ceramic tiles, What is the general thickness of the carpet?
There are basic specifications of ceramic tiles, bathrooms, kitchen commonly used, the wall, 300x450mm 300x600mm 150x450mm 400x800mm. Floor tiles are generally of 300X300mm, what kind of specifications are usually used locally should be specificly considered, the living room, 800x600mm, 600x600mm, there are polished tiles, glazed tiles, etc.. Polished tiles are more expensive, as well as 3D 5D 800X800mm tiles, it depends on what kind of grade you want to decorate.
Q: I just got an estimate to professionally steam clean a 9 * 12 turkish area rug - the estimate was for $440 which seemed high to me, but I have no reference point - is this a reasonable price? I am located in New York City - Thanks!
I'll go out on a limb here and guess that $440 is NOT high ... first, it's an Oriental ... second, you are in NYC. And ... it's a big rug! Oriental rugs need to be handled with the utmost care. I would call around to several places for price quotes. I don't actually have a point of reference, either ... but I'm betting that (in your area, at least) you'll find that the price you were given is well within ballpark range. Did you buy the rug new? If so, call the retailer and ask for a recommendation. You may be able to get a break on the price for a referral from the rug seller. If you bought the rug secondhand (or bought it mass-market ... or don't know where the rug originally came from) ... you're probably stuck paying top buck, but BE SURE to get the estimate in writing before you have any work done on the rug!
Q: does anyone know of a home remedy to get rid of carpet stains? Please help! Thank u!!
mix equal parts water and borax and scrub.. or vinegar water does a good job as well..
