- When you are cutting wires Especially when it concerns computers you should make a good mechanical connection and a good connection free from moisture and any type of corrosion. When I splice the wires together I use butt connectors with shrink warp and melt the shrink wrap around the wires after crimping the butt connectors together. You can buy heat shrink wrap at radio shack or any electrical supply store and buy heat shrink tubing to put over the wires. Some will say this is overkill, but since electricity passe's over the outside of the wire this is where you get corrosion and cause yourself headaches if the wire is not mechanically connected correctly. Wire nuts are for household connections like in florescent lamps or inside a connector box and normally used on single strand wire like romex 12/3 or 10/3 but not on multi strand wire. it's best to solder the wires together then heat shrink them if you know how to. Remember that .02 Ohms resistance can cause problems with computer operation hope this helps.

- All wiring is different but the basics remain the same. Before attempting anything please turn off the power. If I have the good picture in my head, there are extension wires added to the black and white this would be done if the wire run though the wall was too short and needed a little extra to get wired properly to a fixture. If I look at the bad picture in my head you have a jump cable attached which is running to a second outlet or light fixture. If the extra wires go back into the ceiling leading somewhere else then it is probably running to a different fixture and this isn't the best way to run electrical. The panel has the set up so that a 3 phase breaker can be next to each other for example Breakers left side of panel 1= #1 line 3= # 2 line 5 = #3 line Neutral is the large bar on the side were the ground line goes. don't attach a neutral line to a breaker!!!!!! Make sure you buy a 3 phase breaker for equipment with that voltage and phase.

- Q: We bought a used 2004 Chevy Venture that is a cargo style van... it only had a radio in it. So we just bought a Sony car stereo with a cd player to install in it. However, we are having trouble locating the correct wiring harness for the 2004 Venture. We've bought two already for GM vehicles that should technically work for the year of our van, but they do not work. One salesman told us we needed a very expensive wiring harness because it controls the airbags and other electrical gadgets (but they didn't sell it at his store... he said to look online). I've looked online and can't find anything. Would we be better hardwiring it OR does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Thanks!
- You have to remove the trim plate on the front which involves a few other trim panels like the center trim piece to be removed. Then you can access the IPC screws
