Q: My father changed out a 3 prong plug to a 4 prong plug and crossed the wires by mistake. So the red wire on the plug was connected to the black wire to the dryer and visa-verse. What would happen to the dryer if it is turned on with these wires crossed? Consequently, my dryer's motor is not responding, however the heating element is working. Was there a short? Did the motor get fired?: i have seen that problem before - usually its a ground problem - with the dryer itself - look at the wiring diogram of inside the unit - some you have to rerout -

Q: I just learned how to do 3-way wiring, so that I can turn a light off from 2 different switches. My question is, how do I add another light to that mix, so that both lights come on/go off at the same time when I turn the switches on and off? (It's for a closet that has 2 lights in it that I want to come on/go off at the same time).: Very basically, you must have two wires going from light to light. A black wire and a white wire.( A bare copper wire should be included with the pair. It is a ground wire and grounds both light boxes together.) Back to the black and white wires. The black wire should be connected to the black switch leg wire at the first light box as well as to the first light fixture. The white wire is the neutral and should be connected to the white wire of both light fixtures. That's called a parallel connection. Just a note: There are several ways to wire three way switches, so my answer presumes there are two wires going from one of the switches directly to the light fixture. (A white wire and a black wire).

Q: I'm trying to wire a Sony L410X stereo to my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. I don't want to use a wiring harness, so I'm trying to figure out how to splice the wires together. Q: Need ro know where to put the wires correctly: the terminals are colour coded, green for the green or ground wire, brass coloured for the live wires ( the red and black ones) and silver for the white wire.. make sure the power is off!!! it only takes 40 volts a 60 hz AC to KILL! look close for GRN for ground and green, LOAD or LINE for the black or red wires and further for NEUTRAL, ( N) or Neut. for the white wire...YOU CAN CHECK FOR POWER WITH PIGTAIL white to white and black to either black or white one at a time...post again so we know if your alive...
