Usage and Applications of Wire Rod SAE1008B:
After hot-rolled the products shaped into coil and delivery as finished product, including round, square, rectangular, hexagonal and so on. Since most of the products are round, it is generally called wire rod. Carbon steel wire rod is widely used in construction and manufacturing. Carbon steel wire rod is mainly used for reinforcement of reinforced concrete and welded structure or reprocessed (roberts , nail, etc.) materials, especially used to produce wire drawing, welding electrode, nails, spring, electronic, precise machinery parts and so on.

- Q:(a) A copper wire and an iron wire have the same length and same diameter and carry same current I. In which wire is the electric field greater?(b) Can a 1mm in diameter copper wire have the same resistance as a tungsten wire of the same length?[Use p(copper)=1.7x10^-8 ohm meters, p(iron)=1x10^-8 ohm meters, p(tungsten)=5.6x10^-8 ohm meters]
- a) for them to carry the same current (with equal lengths and diameters) the iron wire must have a higher voltage between the ends. Iron has higher resistance than copper. Because the iron wire has a higher voltage across an equal distance, it has a greater electric field. b) yes, but the tungsten wire must have a larger diameter than the copper.
- Q:Or can stranded wire of the same gauge be subsitituted for solid wire without any consequences? The reason I ask is because its for a massive 4kJ capacitor discharge circuit, and I need all the energy delivered to the power coils im using, cant afford to have much leakage inductance.
- Stranded wires have slightly higher inductance than solid wires, but this is noticable only on transmission lines and larger conductors. if you are only using a short conductor, i don't think the inductance of the wire will affect the system, unless the wire is coiled.
- Q:Just bought a new amp for my truck. The speaker outputs needs to be indiviually wired to the door speakers. Do you splice into the speaker wire or the trucks harness?
- ideally you want to wire directly from the amp to the door speakers with new speaker wire but doing this properly requires removing some of the trimming and passing the new wires throughout the car. you can also take the easier route and pass the wires from your amp up under the steering wheel behind the center console and splice them into the existing wires going to the door speakers. as long as the wattage isn't very high the latter shouldn't be a problem. however, if it were up to me i would use new wires and pass them throughout the car, removing the trimmings, etc. this can be somewhat of a pain to do if you have never done it before though.
- Q:Okay so my question is how would I wire these in a ported box with 2 terminals on each side of the box? Also, is the quot;Bridged Wirefeatured in the diagram negative speaker wire? Thanks.
- Bridging isn't something you do with the subs wiring. It's the way you wire them on the terminals. Each amp's manual should tell you which terminals are the bridgeable ones. That's a mono amp. There's not much you can do there with bridging etc..Try looking for a 2 channel bridgeable amp and then worry about wiring the subs. Not sure why you would want two terminals on both sides of the box anyway.
- Q:Why do some vehicles have more than one starter wire at the ignition switch?
- The extra wire activates the fuel pump while cranking. The run position only lets the fuel pump run if it sees signals from the cam and/or crankshaft sensors.
- Q:ok so i wired the subs to the amp now, the positive (Red) goes to the battery, the ground (Black) is currently grounded to the metal under my drivers seat. My question is does it matter the color wire is that goes to the stereo? Can i use a red or black? Does it really matter? If not, where exactly would i hook it up behind my aftermarket sony headunit?
- I was once considering of tapping into the 12v constant on the HU like I do in 95% of the installs i've ever achieved. Are you talking about the far flung wire connection? If so, you commonly mean the accessory wire, now not the steady wire; and to be able to be a hindrance within the Trailblazer in view that there is no accent energy wire in the radio harness. I might recommend using a line output converter that has a developed-in trigger circuit, so it will flip the amp on when it detects an audio signal coming from the head unit. There's no excellent position to connect a faraway wire in a Trailblazer with a manufacturing facility head unit. You could hook up with the accessory vigour output on the key change harness (a thick brown wire) however then the amplifier will flip off with the important thing, alternatively of staying on unless the door is opened like the radio does. The Motorola box is for the Onstar procedure, and there isn't a motive to do something with it at all. Sixteen feet of vigor wire maybe sufficient or would now not; depends upon where you position the amp. The battery and firewall access is on the motive force's part, so in case you maintain the amp on the driver's aspect of the vehicle, you'll in most cases have ample wire.
- Q:im throwing in a radio in my 2002 f-150 and i need the color codes for the truck radio wires
- if you have not cut the factory harness off that connects to the stock radio then go and buy a radio harness kit
- Q:Are those coils of wires in an electric fan magnetic?
- Electric motors, all electric motors, have some form of stator and some form of rotor. The rotor is the section that rotates... duh. The stator is the part that houses the rotor and does not move. AC electric motors, like your fan motors, take advantage of the fact that the phases of current alternate through the wraped wires around both the stator and the rotor. The wire wrappings make the rotor and stator into electro magnets. By careful placement of the rotor and stator wires, the magnetic fluxes that surround both parts can be made to alternately pull and push on the rotor. And that causes the rotor to turn. While most if not all commercial motors have wire wrapped rotors and stators so they are electro magnets, some lab motors may have permanent magnets embedded in their rotors in lieu of the wrapped wires. These are way cheaper, but they are typically way weaker than comparable motors with electro magnetic rotors. So, yes, the coils are electro magnets. As long as there is current alternating through them, there will be corresponding magnetic fields and appropriate forces to turn the rotors.
- Q:but it says there are three Pink wires. There's not even three pink wires coming out of the car.The chassis/clip has been removed (by previous owner) and all that is left is the wires. All that is needed is a list of the colors and what they go to. Thanks.

- Q:I'm splicing four pieces of 14-2 gauge copper wire to an 16 gauge electrical cord. The copper wire doesn't have any covering on it. Is it okay to connect the grounds, then attach it to my keyless lampholder? Or is something bad going to happen then?
- Ground wires are typically bare. Just be sure as you put the wires and light back in the box that the ground wire is not near the connector with the black wire. The black one is the one that bites !
