Q: Can I charge the battery (1.2Vx2) with the suction tube submerged in the water or do I have to remove the suction tube every time I have to charge the battery?: Since you don't mention the model of the pump, if you can connect the charger with a dry connection, you should not have to remove the pump/tube. If you have to take the battery out, you stand the risk of dropping it in the water putting it back, but obviously (I think) you don't have to remove the pump/tube.

Q: Having a hard time taking out the water pump on my 2004 Grand Am. it's been leaking anti-freeze for some time and finally had the time to fix it. Didn't know it will be so difficult to take out. So hopefully it won't be so difficult to put back up.: You did not say if you have a 4 cylinder or a 6 cylinder. The 6 is really easy so I will assume you have a 4.If equipped with an automatic transmission, remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Removal in Engine Mechanical - 2.2L (L61). Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling . Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End. Remove the access plate on the water pump sprocket from the timing cover. Install J 43651 to the water pump sprocket. Use the access plate bolts to secure J 43651 to the engine front cover. Remove the bolts that secure the sprocket to the water pump. Remove the bolt (1) that secures the engine block to the water pump. Remove the bolt (2) that secures the engine front cover to the water pump. Remove the feed pipe that joins the thermostat housing to the water pump. Remove the 2 bolts that secure the water pump to the engine block. Remove the water pump.

Q: Does anyone know where to find small A/C powered submersible pumps, that operate at 20-25 psi? I can only find D/C pumps for ship use.I need one for running humidifiers and misters for large terrariums: My Husband purchased a 25 psi A/C water pump from Grangers Supply. Lift was no problem with it. Grangers is listed on the internet.

Q: I know that the water pump is belt driven, so it would be easy to connect it to my bicycle. What I am wondering is if I can pedal fast enough to make it work. Does anyone know how fast I would need to pedal to operate the pump?: Mechanical water pumps will move water with any rotation, provided it's a sealed system and there are no obstructions. The flow rate will be determined by the RPM of the water pump. This is proportional to the pulley sizes of the drive pulley to the water pump pulley. 600 RPM for a water pump at idle is sufficient for the cooling system design and the engine heat load at idle. Without knowing the specifics of your application, it would be hard to tell how fast you would need to pedal.

Q: I have a pump connected to a lake, that I use to water garden. I changed the line into the lake as it had a air leak and lost it.'s prime.I have filled water back into the tank and lines .several times. And it hasn't caught it's prime. It is a year old pump that came with it's own tank.When I am doing all this I leave the tap end closed.I'm pretty sure that all is tight and not leaking.The line into the water is only about 5ft deep: Lake Water Pump

Q: Im replacing the water pump on my cougar but i ran into a snag. I got the pump unbolted but to take it off, i need to unbolt a bracket that goes behind the power steering pump pulley. I cant figure out how to get that pulley off to take off the bracket. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Q: I have a 2001 2500HD duramax and it is leaking antifreeze under the truck. I leaks a a drop every second what could be causing this: If you can narrow down the location to being from the actual water pump and not a line, It would be the seal in the water pump. The only option is to replace the water pump.
