Q: I need a low profile extention to the exsiting power cable so it can run along the skirting to the mains socket.I was thinking of joining flex wire to the existing cable, wrapping the 3 cores with heatshrink, and then wrapping the whole thing with white insulation tape. the guy from maplin told me I could do this but then I''ve heard that this is a bad idea (and probably against UK safety regulations).
Assuming the current cord is rated properly, if you extend it, you will need to make the extension one size larger to avoid voltage drop, and overheating of the wire. Doing what you suggest is likely to produce a stiff section that is awkward to handle. I prefer to have a plugin connection so if someone trips over it or pulls a chair with the leg behind it, it will unplug instead of dragging the heater.
Q: Hello guyzz, recently i have bought new card powercolor radeon hd 6770 1gb gddr5 .i installed it but it required a 6 pin power cable forbut i checked in my all pc..i cant fine any 6 pin power cable.so without any cable its not working wat i do plzzz help.......
your problem will be solved. Also make sure your PSU is at least 300W before you plug that card in. Sorry for the wrong link. I have since replaced it. Your PSU is more than enough to power that card, the rest of your system and another 5770 in XFire.
Q: What type of plastic is a power cable made of? Thanks.?
Power cable isn't made of plastic, it is copper or aluminum covered with PE, PVC, or PTFE plastic.
Q: Ok so my friend gave me a 40LCD samsung tv, but he had lost the power cable some how. I have actually found a cable to buy on the internet but i have some concerns. 1 i'm not entirely sure its the right cable for my tv, the socket looks like it would fit but the cable claims to work for all samsung song and lg tvs, when i know that my parents song lcd tv has a more complicated power cable. So i'm worried that using this cable could like wreck the tv or something. the second thing is that i herd you can call samsung and they'll send you a cable for free

Q: Hey! I bought a new sound system for my truck including 4 new speakers, a sub, a 5-channel amp, and I'm running all new wiring. So far I've got the 3 RCA cables ran, along with the blue remote turn-on wire along the right side of my truck. I plan to run the Power wire down the left side and then to my amp.I've heard that you put the power wire and RCA cables on different sides, which is what I've done, but is it ok for my speaker wires to be run beside or close to the power wire(4-gauge fyi)? For example, the right side speaker wires wont be near it, but the left side speaker wires will be...Will this cause any weird noise from my speakers?I don't have the names/etc of all my gear right in front of me, but if u rly need it, I will quot;add detailsfor you! Thanks!!
Good....That will depend on how tremendous the amp is. An extension twine has either 2 or three wires inside of at someplace between sixteen and 12 gauge wire. You could twist the entire conductors together and be good up to about forty amps with three 12 gauge wires. The obstacle with amplifiers is present now not voltage. The thicker the wire the extra present it's going to manage. Most any wire you purchase is rated at least 120V. Determine what measurement fuse the amp requires, whether it is greater than 30 to 40 amps i would buy the correct size single wire for the amp. Additionally, fuse the wire at the battery. Fireplace shouldn't be our friend. :)
Q: I have a feeling my power quot;brickis faulty and need to find a replacement, hopwever, none of the high street retailers quot;Game, Gamestation, HMV, Argosseem to stock them.

Q: i have a 99 T reg subaru impreza turbo 2000, i want to install my amps and subs myself and i undestand the principal of what i need to do i just cant seem to find any obviouse way of getting the wiring kit power cable from the battery to the inside of the car. can anybody help?
okay, you must look on the right h, side under your hood, theres normally a small gap that you could run a cable through and it comes out on the passenger side underneath the cubbie hole,,,if it doesnt, you have to look under by where the cubbie hole is and you should see the wire...you run it under the panels that cover the seat belts and as u step in the back...its a plastic black cover,,,you will be able to run it from the front right into the boot
Q: While DISCONNECTED from the amp, I accidentally touched the power cable with the ground cable. Sparks went flying and I smelt a funny odor. Since then, when I go to turn on my radio, my amp only lights up for a second and then looses power. Unfortunately, I feel I've fried my ground wire (upon close inspection, the power/battery cables fuse is still good along with amp signal wire and RCA's) My question is simply this: When replacing my ground wire, can I use left over power/battery cable? I have about 3 feet left over from the install. Thank you for your help!!
Theoretically, yes. I would make sure I was the only one using the system or messing around with it just to make sure no one mistakes it for a power cord. Also, wrapping each end with black electrical tape will work to identify it is a ground cable, being that black is universally known for ground. If you feel like wasting good money, wrap the whole cord with black electrical tape. Also, keep it away from professional installers so they do not mix it up, or just let them know it is a ground. Just keep it short enough so that it actually works as a ground (most manuals recommend less than 3 feet)
Q: Hi. I just purchased a hp slimline S3420F used from OKorder. (dumb move, I know) Anyway it worked for a few days and now it won't turn on. The power supply light on the back is one but the computer won't come on. I was looking in the trouble shooting guide and one thing that is suggested is to reseat the hard disk data and power cables. It says for instructions to refer to a manual that I can't get because it's on my computer. I am on a public computer now and can't upload the manual to this computer. I switched the voltage to 230 and back to 115 real quick and that worked once. Probably just a coincidence. Now it just won't boot at all. LIke I said, the green power supply light on the back of the computer is on. I can read replies from my cell phone so perhaps someone can give me some ides what to do. I'm sure the answer lies in taking it to a repair shop. :(
Re-seating is nothing more than unplugging a connection, then plugging it back in. Your real problem sound related to the 230/115 switch, if not the power supply itself.
Q: My amp was working this morning. On my way home, the power cable came out somehow. I put it back in and it wasn't powering on. The amp fuses were blown, I replaced them. Then I went to hook the battery terminal back and the fuse in my power cable blew instantly. I replaced it and tried again and it blew again. Also the fuses in the amp are fine now. I did the same process when I installed my amp the first time and it was fine so I don't know why it's doing this now. The amp is a Boston Acoustics 800w RMS amp and an 80a fuse. Any ideas?
Look at your previous question. I told you what it probably is. Either you have strand(s) of power wire stick out somewhere and touching something it shouldn't be touching. Or. You tapped the power wire on something during removal and cooked the amps power supply. The current flow from a shorted circuit gets very hot, very fast.
