my tv is mounted on the wall, and my friend came round and we tryed to plug in his ps3 and we knocked the main power plug from the tv.we have fiddled about for around an hour looking for wer it came from and need help before my mam gets back!

I have 8x220ah deep cycle car battery's at 12v and i wanted to run an 5kw 12v power inverter but i would need cable which is 400amp 12x4004800 so could i use two cable connected to the battery's and split the power into 2 cable or would this not work if so whythe inverter would be using 400amps from the battery and it would be supplying 20amps at 240voltsis my working out correct

im sure it comes with a power harness(plug) you prob have to do some splicing just connect it t0 the same place where you get power for the cd player your probably going to get a wire harness for your cd player right? just match the wires from your cd to your ipod thingy before you solder or crimp your connections

Sometimes I have to jiggle the chord or plug it in the right position to get the laptop to be charged. At first, I thought it was the power cable, but after buying a new one, I still have the same problem. Any suggestions as to what causes this and how to fix it?

Pulling on the cable will cause the jack to become deformed, and cause poor connections. You will have to replace the jack. On some laptops, it is an internal plug in module that is easy to replace, on others it is soldered to the motherboard, a much more expensive repair....

hi can some 1 help me? my problem is my harddrive just stops working its happend twice now.so i unpluged the sata power lead from the hard drive and from the power supply plugged it all back in and worked fine for months and today it happend again so i did the same thing and all is good again.so could my lead be dodgey or could it be my harddrive.if it is my lead where can i buy a proper multi sata power from thanx.

first of all do you have another sata power connector you can plug into the hard drive? if you do then try that. or do you have a spare sata drive you can plug into the current power adaptor? if the drive functions correctly from the change in power adapters or the spare drive has issues your power supply may be bad. otherwise you may want to contact the manufacture of the hard drive and do a warranty replacement. or just buy a new hard drive. chances are your hard drive is going to fail on you. either that or make sure the connection is secure and don't hit your pc Note if your optical drive is sata as well swap the connections from drive to drive and see if your disk drive acts up instead of your hard drive.

i soldered in one of those ribbon cables on to my hp's laptop power button cause the old ribbon was failing. anyways i am having some issues with this new cable1 the laptop will power on by itself if i insert the ribbon into the motherboard connector2 the only way to power off the laptop is to remove the cable from the mother board connector and that means opening up the whole laptop3 like i said it will power on by itself so that means that i cant turn it on/off with the power buttonevery thing is soldered correctly i dont understand also i am not sure but does the cable have to be like the old one cause the new one i soldered in looks the same? could it be that it needs that one particular cable replaced again? please help me i am sad

Soldered where ? Most ribbon cables are never soldered.. They are designed for push / cold-weld fit to connectors And soldering the cable risks melting the insulation between the cores in it (as they are not designed for heat) if you solder the motherboard, you risk damaging the wires (and vires) in the several layers of printed circuits (they are quite fine, multi layered not dual external visible only) I suspect you have damaged the cable (internally) update: from those pictures, it is clearly meant to be purchased 'as an already assembled' piece What I suspect has happened, is that there is a small sliver of solder etc (or dirty flux) between the tracks. Those are really low current, circuits, so does not take much 'leakage' to cause a contact to 'appear' closed. Repairing such things, often requires a very very narrow soldering bit and also fine solder / flux. I have seen most people use a microscope to do those repairs before - due to the likelyhood of small bits getting in the wrong place (and tracking unexpectedly occur). A good flux remover / cleaner would be useful ? Is the cost a replacement button complete with cable not cheaper to buy (OKorder is my favorite location for PC parts, shipped in from HK typically)

I have a Karcher power washer which was left outside over night. An animal chewed threw the power cable and so is unusable. I was wondering how to re-connect the power cord together, safely. I do not want to cross wires and use electrical tape. I was thinking of using a connector, but unsure of whether to use a two pinned or three pinned connector.

You can install a plug on the cord to replace the one that was chewed off. Choose one with the same number of prongs as the cord has wires (2 or 3). Be sure to attach each wire to the correct terminal! Splicing the cord is also OK, and tape would not be a problem if applied properly, but I prefer to use heat-shrink tubing. When I do a top-grade splice, I first twist the wires tightly together without making a tail, then I solder them.
