Q: Hi everyone,I attempted to build my first PC; purchased the hardware, software, etc. Everything is assembled perfectly. After installing the motherboard, power supply and the respective cards, I connect the power cable.Upon connecting the power cable, the PC turns on and the only way to turn it off is to remove the power cable (from the back of the PSU). The PC boots up as if I pressed the power button!!I've read that this problem could be the power supply or the capacitors on the board??I'd be appreciative for any advice,Thanks,p
Hmm that sounds like you have missplaced the cables to the motherboard from the front pannel (on switch, HDD led etc.) Kenny
Q: I am trying to hook up a LCD display (CPU Temp, USB's in use, Memory Temp/usage, etc) and It came with a 5pin DIN connector for what I assume is the power. I am not sure what I need to do to connect it to the PSU. Any help or ideas?
the connectors are color coded and monitor cables are usually blue so hook it up to the blue connector on the back of the computer.
Q: Recently I bought a EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS. When it came in, the card fits in my case but has 2 cables to plug in. I only have 1 cable to plug them in connected to my power supply. Should i only plug in 1, or is it nessesary? Is there an extra one I just dont know about? Please answer!
After looking at several 8800GTS's online, I don't see any that require two PCIe six pin plugs. This means I think your talking about the 4 pin molex adapter to be used by those that lack a 6 pin PCIe plug. Because this is a powerful card and it can't get enough electrical power to run from the socket, it needs more juice, and it gets it from the 6 pin PCIe power plug found on newer PSUs. For people that don't have that, many places include an adapter that you can use. If you don't have enough open/free molex plugs however, I question whether or not your PSU has enough power to feed the 8800GTS. What PSU do you have? How many Amps are on the 12V rail? Open your case up and see if you can read the sticker that should be on all power supplies. If you don't have enough open plugs, I would NOT use a splitter. Splitters can be used to hook up several low power devices (like fans) not high power devices like video cards.
Q: does anyone know a website that has like a chart with pictures of the different power supply connectors and where in the desktop computer they go all I know is the 24 pin goes to the motherboard and the 6 pin goes to my graphics card
Its on your motherboard factory web site. usually there is a 4 or 8 pin for the mobo PCI bridge, sata, pata, power connectors for drives. smaller for floppy, blue wire for PSU fan speed report. just find out what FORM you need, most are ATX.
Q: what kind of power supply cable plugs into the hard drive?
Which okorder /
Q: Whether high voltage cables can be built in belt corridors
Electric workers in the wood when the wood bar, buried in the soil that part of the first use of fire char, and then brush into the ground after the bitumen
Q: Is it? I leave the power cable for hours when at home, when letting it process video and such and sometimes drain the battery when not used much. Thanks for any help.
When I first bought my laptop I tried to research this. Keep the battery in and keep the ac adapter hooked up. Use the ac adapter and take the battery out. Just charge with the ac adapter and run off the battery when fully charged. Everybody had an opinion on what to do. The confusing thing is that they all made sense. So I decided to stop driving myself nuts. I leave the battery in. The ac adapter is always hooked up. I leave my laptop on pretty much 24/7 and have done so for over a year now. Once a month as part of my maintenance I unplug the ac adapter and let the battery run down till the warning pops up. Plug it back in and do the same next month. I keep track of how long the battery lasts without the ac adapter on. It always charges back to 100% and if the life is decreasing it is so minimal that I am not noticing. Is this right or wrong? Depends on who you ask. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
Q: 98 dodge intrepid, wanna run power cable through the firewall without drilling a hole.
i ran mine under the car but many things can damage the wire. there is usually a plugged hole that is free but not all the time, i would just drill a hole at the easiest location it may save time and frustration in the future, if u do be careful not to drill into anything important and use rubber grommets to protect the wire a bit larger the the wire
Q: So I'm currently living in a dorm room, and my tv is hooked up to the campus cable system. A couple of minutes ago, the power went off and turned back on right away, and I was watching tv during this. Now the power is working but the cable is not, all the channels are nothing but static.I've tried resetting my tv, but I'm wondering what else I could do. Other tvs hooked up to cable in my dorm aren't working either, so is there something wrong with the entire cable system?
Yes, there is. Probably either a fuse blew cutting power to the distribution amplifier or the DA itself failed due to surges surrounding the power failure.
Q: I lost the power cord and I can't seem to find a replacement online. Is there anything I can do to savage this since I do not want to buy a new printer. If it helps, I have an old power cable from a samsung ML 2510, but that printer is deemed useless since it started to smell like smoke.
It is the same kind of cable for your pc power supply, just find it in computer shops.
