- Q: I recently moved from one state to another and brought my XBox 360 and games with me, but forgot the power supply, power cable and AV cables. I can't get a family member to ship them because they are all locked in storage and even if I mailed the keys, they are probably buried under everything else anyway. Most electronics stores sell the AV cables so that isn't a problem. But nobody seems to carry the power supply. Most places I've found online carry generic or no-name brand equipment which I want to stay away from for something this valuable and will only purchase genuine Microsoft equipment. Where can I look or buy it? Will I have to order right from Microsoft themselves?
- Id say either off OKorder, or if you have a broken one, buy a new 360 from target or something and swap em out
- Q: my laptop only boots on the battery but not when power cable is plugged in?
- Sounds like you have a good battery. Is the battery plugged in when you try to connect with the cord? Does your battery charge when the cable is plugged in? If not, you may need a new power cable. Use a VOM (VOLT OHM METER) on it and do a continuity check to ensure connection is good. If that's not the problem, it may be the DC Plugin port.
- Q: I want to put a poe switch into the patch panel and power a few runs throughout the office. Can the end users use the drop as a standard way to plug into a computer or add a switch if they need to split the internet? What if they want to add their own POE switch at the end of the drop?I can't beleive I haven't seen this question asked already! Anywhere on the intternet!thanks for answering
- Yes, you can attach PoE or non PoE devices to the switchports. No worries. If a device is not configured for PoE, than it won't use it.
- Q: Okay after installing Deus Ex on a brand new PS3 slim I pressed the start button and when the screen went black the console hanged, I couldn't even press the PS button, at the suggestion of a friend I yanked the power cable. Now it works fine but I'm wary of putting Deus Ex back in, I doubt that its regioning since there's no such thing. Any ideas and troubleshooting solutions?BTW what are the consequences to yanking the power cable.
- I don't think its the game cause I mine hangs to and I don't even have Deus Ex. pulling the Power cord ain't really a good idea it can lead to some issues
- Q: I'm about to order everything to put a new sound system in my Jeep Wrangler and I've been planning the locations to run new wires and cables. I got to looking at the area's where I could run the power cable for the amp and have come to 2 conclusions. I could either drill a hole in a very difficult to reach but hidden area behind the dash and try to hide the cable on the interior of the Jeep all the way to the rear where the amp is.. or, I could run the cable inside the hollow frame rails (which have many pre-drilled holes to slip the cable in and out of) under the Jeep and then just drill a hole to the interior in an easy to reach location near the amp. My only concern is that the cable's insulation will breakdown and crack prematurely due to exposure to water and road salts.. is this a real risk if I run the cable on the exterior of the vehicle? Or will the cable hold up just as well as any other cable such as those in the engine compartment? Thanks for your help!
- You'll have no problem running the power wire thru frame rails the cable is designed to weather the elements under the hood so it will work under the car just make sure to secure it solidly in as many places possible so it can't droop and snag on road hazards
- Q: Regarding car audio setup, if I were to have an 8 ga power cable powering an amplifier for subs, what would happen if I were to use a smaller ga grounding cable? What if I used a larger ground cable?
- alphadog and danhandi are correct. The actual wire size for 200 amps is 3/0, but the NEC allows you to use 2/0 for dwelling units. The allowable neutral would be 1/0 and the ground would be 6 AWG. This is for copper only as dan said.
- Q: I am doing a test if the power supply. Can you have the computer on and plugged in with PSU out in the open, leave on the carpet ?Can you have the power cable plugged into the psu first and then try to plug in the psu cable into the mother board. Would this electrocute you? if you accidentally knocked over liquid onto the power supply while the computer is running and you touched the motherboard at the same time while you are perfectly grounded. Can this electrocute you? unpluging the psu connector while the computer is on?
- Power okorder /... Look at the photo all the way to the right. Shows you the motherboard power cable plugged in. That is the backside of the connector you're looking at. The jumper wire goes to the Green wire socket, and the Black wire socket next to it. Pins 14 15, in this type of motherboard connector. No matter what style of motherboard connector you have, it's the Green wire, and any Black wire. Green is the Soft Power On, any Black wire is a ground. Just touch it - Briefly. You'll see a spark. If the Psu is good, the computer power supply will turn on. (The spark may make you glad you had a rubber glove on!)
- Q: I have a ZXi8008 and there's a cable that goes out to the head unit to turn on the amplifier, which is different than the power cable. But in this car, i have not installed a new head unit. Where do I hook up this cable otherwise? It needs a constant power supply to be on.
- i would hook it up to the power cable from ur stero that whay the amp will only come on when the radio comes on. that way u wont drain ur battery, thats if ur talking about the remote cable
- Q: This morning my cable modem seems to be malfunctioning...it's a Motorola SURFboard and it has a column of lights on the front (labeled Power, Receive, Send, Online, Activity, and Standby accordingly) that are all supposed to be lit up (except Standby) when I'm online. Well some of the lights keep going on and off--namely the quot;receivequot;, quot;sendquot;, and quot;onlinelights. In addition, my internet is operating very slowly and/or not at all; sometimes I get the quot;page cannot be displayedmessage when I try to navigate to another page; sometimes it goes thru ok but loads at snail's pace. Does this mean there's a problem with my computer or modem, or is it just that the internet is down in my area?
- Ok, the send and recieve lights are supposed to flash, this is good. the connected light should be steady and the connected to pc light can flash if it wants the slow connection could be many things call your cable computer and ask them what to do if there's nothing wrong with your cable settings, run a virus check, spyware check, and adware check. possibly restore your entire pc to factory condition.
- Q: Hey guys I have a compaq sr5550f desktop the power light under the cable is flicking green but the computer will not turn on or off yesterday it was fine but unable to connect to the monitor I have saying no signal? whats up with it it was fine two days ago I unplugged all cables and let it rest and still the same result even if i unplug all the cables it still flickers green the dies off then if i plug it back it does it again help?
- Does the fan spin (at the back, near where you plug in the power cable) at all? If not, you probably have a failed power supply that needs replacing.
