Q: I'm running a 3ghz ecs p965t with 2gb of RAM, and I'm trying to install an XFX 8800GT. First time I tried it, it didn't power on at all, and I figured it might be the power supply (mine was a 350w) so I tried a friend's 450w, still no power. The problem is that the 2 in my pc have L shaped dongles in which one can't connect to the video card due to how it's designed. Is there any way to extend the dongle for reach? This one is potentially a problem waiting to happen. If power is not adequate you don't want to split a connector to provide power to each plug. If you determined you don't have an adequate power supply then you need to consider replacing it and when you do you should have all the connectors you need for your system. Please do make sure you have adequate power. You could cause your system to not work properly or worse cause permanent damage by trying to run it with inadequate power. Hope that helped! Good luck!

Q: I am doing a test if the power supply.Can you have the computer on and plugged in with PSU out in the open, leave on the carpet ?Can you have the power cable plugged into the psu first and then try to plug in the psu cable into the mother board. Would this electrocute you? if you accidentally knocked over liquid onto the power supply while the computer is running and you touched the motherboard at the same time while you are perfectly grounded. Can this electrocute you? unpluging the psu connector while the computer is on?: If you have already pulled the fan off, do so again (without reaching into the power supply. Take a good look at the shaft of the fan. I'll wager there either is, or was, a set screw in that shaft. Most likely you'll need a hex wrench to get that locked back into place.
