Operations Conditions
1. The medium temperature should not be over 60oC, the density 1200Kg/m3, and the pH value within 5-9.
2. During running, the pump must not be lower than the permitted lowest liquid level.
3. Rated voltage 380 V, rated frequency 50 Hz. The motor can run successfully, only under the condition the deviations of both rated voltage and frequency are not over ± 5%.
4. The maximum diameter of the solid grain going through the pump has not to be larger than 50% of that of the pump outlet.

- Q: I have never had to deal with this and I am probably worrying about nothing but every time I run water, even for a second, the pump starts clicking on and off. Is it supposed to do it with every little thing? Every time the toilet flushes, or the water gets turned on to wash hands it goes off and keeps constantly going off until the water is shut off. Is this what it's supposed to do?
- Jadee is correct. Your pump is waterlogged. This is a condition where all the compressable air has mixed with the water in the tank and the tank is full of water clear to the top, not allowing for any compression, which is where you get the pressure to push the water out when you open a fixture. When you open a fixture, regardless of which one, the pump senses a drop in pressure immediately and starts up. As soon as you close the fixture, the pump, which is now pumping water into the tank, senses the pressure coming quickly to where it needs to be and shuts off. There needs to be air in the top of the tank to compress in order for the system to function. If you have a bladder tank, (usually a green or blue tank with an indented seam around the middle of it), then most likely the bladder that's in the middle of the tank to keep the air and water apart so they don't mix, has ruptured and is now allowing the very thing to happen that it was designed to stop. You can drain the system of pressure and most of the water by turning off the pump and repressurizing the tank thru the air nozzle on top or the top side. Open a couple fixtures and allow the water to escape as you put pressure into the tank, until you get air and the water quits. Then turn off the fixtures, turn the pump back on and let it pump up. That will give you an air cushion on top of the tank and will let you use the system till you can decide whether you want to replace the tank or just use it as a convential resevoir system of old, (before bladder tanks). The procedure to restore the system to functionality is the same if it's an older tank without a bladder, only you may have a drain spigot on that type of a tank that will allow for gravity drainage of the water, instead of pressurization. It's not an uncommon occurance for those of us on older wells that don't have bladder tanks. We have to drain and restart ours about once every year or two, depending on how much time the grandkids spend here.

- If you dont know how to tighten the belt, I would get it to a shop and let a professional replace the belt for you. You loosen the two bolts, stick a prybar in and tighten the belt, and then tighten the bolts.

- I don't know so much about legal issues, but 4-500 dollars for a water pump sounds about right. The pump costs about 80 but you have to take out the engine to get it. Usually when they replace the water pump they'll replace the timing belt, too, which again adds to the cost. If he takes the pump out, it means the engine will be out, too. Engines are really heavy, so I doubt that he could do it on his own. If he has a mechanic do it, the car will be stuck at the mechanic's until you get a replacement part, and he still has to pay $300 in labor just to get the thing out of there. It is pretty much, then, an idle threat. He could however, do quite a lot of damage to your car with a hammer. However, that would be vandalism and he would go to jail for it. If he has already paid for the repair, he can't really sue you. He can, but the judge should look at it as a gift, which he can't get back.

- your car was almost out of water t overheated and blew a hose. You need to find out what is leaking the coolant out and fix it. You did not mention the year make or model so there is little we can advise. Many cars have a weep hole on the botton of the water pump and when the seal breaks this is usually because the bearing in the water pump is worn. Put in a new pump and inspect all heater hoses and radiator hoses replace the thermostat and then add coolant. Be sure to open the heater core so no air bubbles block the system.. leave the radiator cap off and let the car warm up good so the thermostat opens and coolant starts to curculate rev the enging slowly several times to work out any air fill the system (replace radiator cap with a new one too) put new cap on and drive around for about ten minutes and park the car. Let it cool so that any coolant needed gets sucked in through the pressure cap. Refill overflow bottle as necessary.

(Be very careful not to hurt yourself while doing this.) If it's still a belt making the noise and it has the proper amount of tension, then get a bar of soap. While the vehicle is on, apply the soap to a pulley the squeaking belt is on. This should get rid of the noise. - That could have either the 1.6 liter or 2.0 liter engine. My information shows that if you have the 1.6 liter, at least you don't have to worry about bending valves against pistons if the belt breaks -- you'll just be stuck out on the road until you can get it towed and fixed. Not so with the 2.0 which is an interference engine. So if you DO have the 2.0, pay attention -- you don't want an expensive breakdown! You're on borrowed time at 75K. For both engines, Mazda recommends that you replace the timing belt every 60K miles. Gates (a major replacement supplier) seems to think these belts will go 105K. Since it's a factory belt, stick with 60K. As for the water pump, it's often one of those while you're already in there sort of things when you're doing a timing belt. 60K makes it a tougher call, especially with the better quality of water pump bearings and seals. If your interval were 80K ~ 100K as is true on some cars, I'd say go for it without blinking. As cheap as it'll be (it's really just the price of the pump), and it was my set of wheels, I'd do it anyway, even at 60K, if it needed to be pulled to do the belt.
