FAQ of SBS Single Stage Double Suction Centrifugal Pump
1. Can your pumps mount Eff.1 motors
Currently, only on request though this will shortly be a CNBM standard.
2. Are your pumps protected against dry running?
No, unprotected centrifugal pumps are not generally designed for dry running. It is important to give us or your dealer as much information as possible about the system in which the pump is used. Inlet pressure, the type of liquid to be pumped, together with relative density, viscosity and temperature, for example, are required in order to allow CNBM to recommend the right pump with the right gaskets for a long operating lifetime.
3. How can I get trained on CNBM products?
Yes, we provide training courses in our factory (products, general and specific pump technology, hydraulics, and practical applications). Please consult your sales manager or get in touch with our headquarters for more information.
- Q: Can I install a recirculating hot water pump to a boiler? Someone just told me that I have a boiler not a water heater, but I have to wait for minutes for the shower to heat up
- Hi You need to give a little more information type of water heater est or Central heating boiler , you cant just fit a circulating pump on to a hot water circuit first it would have to be gunmetal or stainless steel construction and have a return circuit and a proper control system, if you find that you do have a water heater don't fit a pump. this work should ideally be carried out by an qualified heating engineer if possible. Bob a job
- Q: A Pump is direct driven by a 25 HP 900 rpm electric motor at rated load. In order to to double the quanitity of water delivered, it would be necessary to substitute a motor rated at____HP at____rpm. ans. 200 and 1800. not sure how they came up with this answer...whats the equation???
- N = (95 H.C)/D Where N = rev/min D = diameter of impeller over blade tips in metres H = total head in metres C = constant. C depends on the shape of the pump and normally lies between 1.05 and 1.2 Later edit. I'm not sure if you are aware of it but each impeller has it's own characteristic performance curve.
- Q: I need to fit a booster pump to increase pressure from a gravity fed vented solar water heater (uses vacuum tubes). The problem is that the temperature of the water from the solar panel can be very high - in fact it could boil under some circumstances. It's safe because the system is vented. As the quot;solarwater feeds existing water heaters in the house, diluting the hot with some cold prior to the pump with an automatic mixer valve is not really an attractive option as we want to gather as much hot water as possible. Can anyone tell me where to get a booster pump that can operate at up to 100 Deg C, delivering 2 bar pressure and about 25 liters per minute. Thanks.
- Well, you have to have a mixer valve if your temps are over 140F If I understand you correctly, you could put your mixer valve on the gravity fed hot water and then the output of the mixer valve goes to the inlet of a pump that can handle 140F. Then you don't need a mixer on the hot water tank in the house. And finding a pump that can handle that temp will be a lot easier. Also, storing high temp water is very inefficient. The higher the delta Temp is from the water to the ambient surroundings, then the lower the efficiency. You could save just as much energy in the water by increasing your water tank size and lowering your temp. For instance a 100 gallons of water close to boiling has the same stored energy as 150 gallons of 140F water. And you don't need a mixer at that point and you don't need a special pump either. I'm assuming you are using storage on the roof with a thermosyphon? Can you add more water storage next to that one?
- Q: My truck turned off by itself and a bunch of steam and smoke came out and my radiator was dry. To keep it running i had to have the engine revved and at a stop sign hold the brake down. and slightly press. I'm assuming its the water pump however. It started yesterday as the colder weather started. What my question is what do you think it is and if you have experience with water pumps, how hard is it to replace i found one for $14
- that don,t sound like the water pump. if it was the pump then it would overheat and leak out. check to see where it,s leaking at. if it,s leaking from the pump then it will have to be changed even though it still might not help it to idle. it,s not really that hard to change the pump on a 351W . the hardest part is getting into it. you might have to remover some stuff so you can work. the belt and water pump pulley will have to come off and the fan but that should let you into the bolts.
- Q: old sbc v8 water pump from oreilly's came apart and the fan ate up my serpentine belt, power steering pump pulley, clutch fan obviously, and put 5 holes in my new aluminum radiator. What will they cover? Remanufactured limited lifetime warranty. '78 chevy k10 350 sbc
- In concurring with ART WARRINGTON, a mechanic's professional determination will speak for you. To add, make sure you take the vehicle to a well-known and respected repairshop, like the dealer. However, it won't be O'Reilly that covers the final cost, if things work out in your favor. It will be the manufacturer of the part and O'Reilly might become your middleman again for parts. One thing is for certain: no money is going to enter into your hands. This process will go faster especially if you do not make demands for such. In arguing your case, though, you are going to be limited since you have to secure other means of travel now if none are at your immediate grasp. Also, small claims court generally handles claims up to $1,500. This sounds like the repair will be more than that. In terms of a free claim, I have not the experience there. Keep in mind that a lawyer will not be. ~~~~~~~~ If, for some reason, they require your automobile insurance information, I'm out as far as advice. For that I would, just to be safe, get with your insurance company beforehand and ask them questions. They would be a great non-biased thrid party for advice. May I offer my condolences that you have to go through all of this..
- Q: 2004 chevy impala 3.4 v6 The small leak is right behind the pulley of the water pump. Car is not overheating .the leak is only for a little while then it stops . water pump seems to be working fine but the leak ,what could it be ?
- it's the seal - it needs to get fixed soon
- Q: We've changed the hoses, and thermostat for the radiator. It still leaks coolant but we can't find out where it's leaking from.
- 1999 Honda Accord Water Pump
- Q: My car randomly decided to dump fluids the other day. Now, the engine overheats after 5 minutes of driving it and the check engine light comes on. I put more coolant in it and noticed it began to drip underneath the car. I'm hoping it's a leak but being my car is 10 years old and I've never replaced either the water pump or the head gasket I figure it's about due time unfortunately. About how much would this cost me to have done at the garage?
- It seems excessive to have to remove the engine to replace a head gasket. But I typically work on American cars, and I've seen the inside of an Altima, it is quite cramped. If I were you, I'd search google for replace head gasket procedure nissan altima and see what it comes back with.
- Q: can this happen that pump is pressurizing system and no flow in suction.
- The radiator honestly holds the water/coolant and the pump circulates the aggregate with the help of the engine. Upon returning to the radiator, the water is cooled from air passing with the help of the fins of the radiator. The pumps job is to move the aggregate to guarantee that the nice and comfy water to sit back for this reason, the engine is then cooled.
- Q: 2001 buick centurywater runs down at area of crank shaft
- on the very bottom of the pump there is a weep hole. This leaks the coolant once the pump bearing seal deteriorates and pours coolant over the area of the crankshaft...gl
