- Q: We have just replced our hot water heater in our camper. When we turn on the water pump we hear it kick on and run. When we turn on a faucet water comes out then slowly goes away untill nothing comes out at all. It has been a year since we used the water tank, so its been full of air. The camper is pretty old, i dont know the specific date though. Could it be low water pressur? any help would be greatly appreciated.
- Check to see if the water pump has a filter on it. Could look like window screen or similar. Junk in that will fill up with pressure and cut the water off. If the pump stops running after a few seconds of flowing, its probably a filter. Once they get to a certain pressure, water valve opened or closed, they shut off to keep from burning up. If the water tank was left with some water in it, moss may have grown. Should flush it with some clorox and water. Check with a local dealer to see how much.
- Q: I have a pontiac grand am 1996 v6 with a 3.1L 3100 SFI engine. I have a coolant leak and I think it's coming from the water pump. When the car is cool and then turned on, about 4 to 9 minutes into warming up, coolant is hitting a belt and spraying out of the car's front end. When this is happening I see that there is coolant dripping off of the waterpump housing. The coolant started to spray everywhere about 15 seconds before the radiator fan kicked in. Why would this happen when first warming up only? Can a defective thermostat cause this to happen?

- Q: I have built my own spray rig to water some stock and tanks and a garden. It is a 330 gallon tank and has a spout at the bottom that i am going to connect a multi purpose pump to. My question is what size pump would i need? I have been looking at Atwoods and Tractor Supply and have seen some 2.1 GPM and a 5 GPM pumps i just don't know which would best suit me. i am planning on having the tank on the trailor and running water hose to a sprinkler or two. I would like to know how man sprinklers are possible on this type of system and still keep good pressure. Thanks for any answers.
- Like the last person, what you've looked at won't do much. Just think of a 5 gal bucket and how fast do you want to fill it up. Also you want pressure behind this water if you want to water with it, so look at the psi on a pump as well as the GMP to determine what will work best for you. I'd say 40psi should be enough pressure to run hoses and sprinklers and remember that the smaller the hose at the end gives the highest pressures. Hope this helps you out some. I'll admit, I'm thinking of this as knowledge of water pressures more than GMP, but I think I've explained something good about your question. Good LUCK
- Q: it is a mazda b3000 pick up v6,it is coming from behind water pump,but it is not all the time, i would think that if pump is going it would be all the time, but it will go bone dry for a few dayswhen it does leak it leaves about an 8 inch spot on the driveway,temp gauge goes to its regular spot and does not move,any suggestions would be helpful,thanks
- Not sure where it is coming from? I will speak slowly, and use small words. Gasket leaking. Replace. Pump may be bad.

- Parts are inexpensive depending on make and model, Labor is what gets you. I'd say your looking at about $150.00 to $200.00 for water pump. Less than that for thermostat.
- Q: Water pump located on the ground floor of our 10 story building is leaking and therefore it is constantly running and spilling water into the parking lot. Therefore, a plumber shut the water pump off and opened a bypass valve.After we shut off water pump all units still have good water pressure so why do we need to replace water pump?When water pump is on the incoming city water gauge reads 60psi and the gauge measuring the water shooting up into the building reads 80psi. - Perhaps the water tank/supply is higher than 10 stories high.
- Q: We use this water pump for about 2 years, and in the last week the circuit breaker trip when we turn on the pump. What should I check first for the problem?
- When the pump motor starts, it engages a start winding that can draw enough current tripping the breaker in question. I would recommend that you change the breaker. It may have become weak after years of operation of said pump. It is a very good idea to dedicate a breaker for this motor. This configuration will insure that there's not another appliance in the circuit that may cause this problem of overloading said breaker when a limit switch closes to turn on the pump. - Q: My car broke down yesterday and is waiting to be towed to the mechanic (2000 Dodge Neon). I'm pretty sure the Timing Belt broke, but my water pump was broken in the process and leaked out lots of water. Would the timing belt break the water pump when it snapped? Or does the broken water pump lead us to a different conclusion? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.Also I was reading online today about interference engines, but couldn't find a list to verify if I have one of those or not. Anyone know? Thanks!

- Q: My 1999 ford taurus WATER pump and serpentine belt need to be replaced because I can't stir the stiring wheel .... Would you know approximately how much this could cost so I dont get ripped off ??? I know nothing about cars... and this mechanic is saying between 300$ to 400$ and that is wayyy too expensive .
