Design Features of High-performance pipeline ball valve-reduced bore:
Body of high-performance pipeline ball valve is forged structure.The connection type for body and vice-body can be BB(bolted connection)and WB(welded connection).The WB(welded connection)and the LWB(Fully-welded extended stem)structure isadopted for buried ball valves,as shown below.
High performance pipeline ball valve series has the feature of strength, high perfect sealing, maintenance-free, long life and so on. The special structure of valve seat seal of High-performance pipeline ball valve-reduced bore:
Floating structure means seat reciprocally can move along channel direction,so as to guarantee the ball and seat are tightly sealed.
(Ⅰ)Valve seat structure suitable for different occasions and sealing requirements
Valve seat can be designed as a standard single-piston effect and specific dual piston effect,Figure1 shows single-piston effect-inletside seal;Figure2 shows Dual Piston effect-outlet-side seal;Figure3 shows special dual piston effect sealing structure
(Ⅱ)Multi-level structure of the valve seat seal
As shown in Figure4,there are two elastic O-ring in the valve seat ring-ring A and ring B.Sealing ring A spring-loaded through the valve seat so that the sealing surface of sealing ring A tightly fit with ball surface to form an initial seal.When there is pressure in the system medium,the piston force
produced by the piston force produced by the piston effect of size difference makes elastic deformation of the ring A Ershi sealing surface and ball more closely fit the surface to form a re-sealing;meanwhile,due to ring A in the medium resulted in elastic deformation under pressure so that the sealing ring B is also closely fit the surface of ball for the formation of the second stage seal.When the system medium pressure increasing,it will have an enormous pressure in the valve seat ring A and ring B,so that the two seals have a greater elastic deformation,and then the metal valve seat ring surface and the ball surface sealing together to form a third level of metal to metal seal.
(Ⅲ)The assisted valve seat sealing equipment
Based on the actual service condition,medium requirement,sealing requirement,etc.,the assisted valve sealing equipment will be considered to be necessary or not.The assisted valve sealing equipment is a one-way valve installed outside of valve body that can prevent medium leakage and can inject sealing grease into valve body by external force.When the assisted valve seat sealing equipment is required,valve seat ring shall be design and processed with injection grove and hole to connect the assisted valve seat sealing equipments.Such equipment can prevent the medium by the sealing of injection of rease.Refer to Figure5 for reference.
Multi-level structure of stem sealing
Figure6 shows the stem multi-level sealing by adopting"O"ring,flexible graphite and grease injection;"O"ring achieves the first level stem sealing;Replaceable flexible graphite realizes the second level sealing by the compression of packing sleeve and packing flange;And the third evel sealing is realized by installing assisted sealing injection valve to the packing box,and by designing with the injection groove and hole to connect with the stem injection valve,which can inject grease.
Unique and safe seat structures of High-performance pipeline ball valve-reduced bore:
Ball valve fireproof design is implementation of the API607,API6FA standards.According to service conditions and user requirements,ball valve can be designed as a fireproof structure.
(Ⅰ)Fireproof structure of seat
As shown in figure7,there is composite fireproof ring,which are combined with graphite and stainless steel wire in the seat.Once the soft ring is burnt out in case of a fire,the fireproof ring and seat ring will form a piston structure through the spring to load the valve body.That will push and closely contact the metal seal surface of the seat ring to the body surface,So as to prevent a lot of medium from leaking from the burnt place of the seat ring,and prevent the fire from expending.
(Ⅱ)Fireproof structure(body and bonnet)
The seal gasket for bolt connecting valve body and valve bonnet,are used fireproof stainless steel wire and flexible graphite gaskets.Gasket compression load through the bolts and ultimately,ensure the valve body and valve cover between the metal to metal contact,so that the valve can with stand more high load,but also improve the fire safety of the valve.But for the full welded ball valve,the valve body and cover is welded structure,that fundamentally eliminate the possibillity of leakage of the valve housing.Even in the case of fire damage,there will be no leak.
(Ⅲ)Fireproof structure(body/packing and stem)
The body and packing connection gasket adopts fireproof stainless steel wire and flexible graphite gaskets.The stem packing adopts flexible graphite to ensure no leakage in case of fire.

- Q: Ive been tolding one or more of my valves is/are knocking, how can I fix this. Detail would be great, this is for a F0RD 460, from a 90. I was wondering if I can just buy some used heads(not sure if this comes with these things called valves, haha)but I can pick up some 460 heads, for pretty cheap.. on those and do a full swap, since mine is from 90 i dont know if year would matter. So how can I fix knocking valves., thanks
- valves dont knock they tap and generally all you have to do is adjust the valve lash, but you may need new valve springs if those heads have alot of miles or were abused.

- MOST modern engines have hydraulic lifters, which pretty much eliminates the need to have any periodic valve adjustments. You can take stock heads to a shop and put two grand into them and make better flow and bigger valves and more power, or actually buy a set of performance heads for less and make more power. the only time your valves would need to be set is when putting together a new engine, or taking apart the one you have and replacing say a head gasket or something. (in which case you would have a shop go through the heads and make sure they are up to factory specs. If your engine is running fine, and you have kept the oil clean and the motor in good tune, follow the recommended maintenance intervals in your owners manual. a valve adjustment is not going to give you horsepower.

- save yourself the hassle and throw that thing away go back to your local auto parts store and buy the l shaped spring compresser should be about twenty dollars make sure vehicle is at tdc remove rocker arm bolt remove rocker arms going valve by valve do not mix them up must go in exactly the same order they came out now lightly tap the top of valve with a rubber mallet will help loosen retainers place compresser on rocker arm stud take r.a. nut and tighten till valve locks fall out or can be removed very small dont lose use compressed air to hold valves in place at tdc sorry that should have been first not hard but not easy to do rebuilt 350 motor from the guts out spent alot of money on spring compressers only to find out the simplest one worked the best the one like u got will give u hell i tried napas version craftsman all of them trust me use the L bar
- Q: I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2L V8 I posted a question on here before and many thanks, What I had was a bent rod well I took off the head and removed all the valve springs and found that where the bent rod was the valve stems are bent too. What else do I need to do? or can I clean the head up make sure no valve holes are bent, replace the rods and valves and be good to go. I want my jeep running again!!! Thanks
- I'd say the timing chain either broke or the cam gear is worn off,cam gears used to be made of fiber rather than steel on older engines. When the cam stops turning the valves stop working and when the piston comes up it then hits any valves that are open bending the valve or push rod or both. If this particular engine is run by a belt and the belt breaks you get the same result. To check this you can take the timing cover loose on the front of the engine and check the condition of the chain and gear.
- Q: Hi guys, Thanks for your advice. RandyK is right, my dad's GP told me that if we don't get the valve operation, his heart will swell in years time and might cause more complicated illness. Just let you know my dad had seen his cardiologists recently and had some scan or tests done. The results will be discuss in next appointment, they suggested that mechanical valve would be used if the operation go ahead. At the mean time I just hope and pray his condition will under control by medication. Wendy, may I ask you how old are you when you had your valve operation? I am too scare to suggest or encourage my dad to do the operation. Because if there is any difficulties or worse ...during operation, I will be the one send him away......If anyone have a relative like my dad's case,(76 years old had valve operation) please give me some advice.. - Hi David, just saw your post. I was young when I had my valve replaced. I was 37, now am 42. My mother had her valve replaced at the age of 54. Honestly, that is the oldest person I know of that has had valve replacement. As with any surgery, there are alot of risks young or old. The older a person is though it may be tougher especially if he has a lot of other health problems. Just take all of this into consideration when you and your father are discussing all the details, etc. and find out any and all options that he has before proceeding with surgery. - you are going to not like this first drain coolant 2 remove the throttle body linkage remove the pipe going to the egr to exhaust manifold [helps to use penatrating oil] remove assorted hoses to get to removing the upper intake plendeum {not the lower intake] [you need to put a shop towel over the open intake ports at the engine to keep any and all debries out of the intake ports to the engine] you should be able to see the valve covers by now remove the valve covers bolts remove the valve cover clean the gasket surfaces on the cylinder head [don,t leave ant debries in this area or in the valve cover [cleanlyness is a really good thing at this point in the build keep the crud out] there are some half moon seals that need to be replaced at this time located on the ends of each cylinderhead put a light bead of RTV high heat silicone on the rounded side of the seals and install the seals in thier half moon bores the RTV high heat silicone will kinda squish out of the seal don,t let the beead get carried away wipe of the sealent with a clean towel [shopcloth] not paper towels put a little RTV high heat silicone across the seal s flat side wipe flat with your finger install the valve cover gaskets on the valvecover [a little automotive contact cement for weaterstripping helps hold the gaskets reinstall everything fill coolant system change the oil and filter look for leaks a book or parts guy should be able to help find the right touque to tighten the bolts remember cleanlyness works here good luck should take about 8 to 10 hours note do not reuse any gaskets any where new hoses would not be a bad idea along with a thermostat ihawk3
