- Q:I'm looking at this coffee table, matching end tables, and matching tv stand. I really like the clean transitional pottery barn look for my new apartment. The floors are a light tan, the walls will be probably also a light cream (its a small place so I want open-feeling colors). My problem is finding the sofa color to go. This is the SAME sofa in 2 colors (one is leather but I dont really care). Let me know your suggestions :)
- If you are paying that much for the coffee table alone, it better be solid wood or you are getting robbed. I would go with No. 1 also, but make sure it is comfortable. And, if you are one that puts your feet up, maybe you want to add pillows to that expensive coffee table. And make sure you use good coasters under your drinks or you will have stains. I would ask if the finish is a lacquer (finger nail polish will ruin it) or a poly. That way if something happens the finish, you will know how to deal with it. Ask the store if they carry small cans of the finish in case something does happen. And watch those baskets that slide in, do they have sharp edges or nails that may scratch. I love the sofa but I would need soft throw pillows and a throw. Use various colors to make it cheery.

- Hair spray. Try a small patch on a part of the sofa that won't be noticed prior, make sure that there is no discoloration, or damage to the material. If everything looks okay, spray a small amount on the effected area, let it sit for 10 minutes, wipe with a damp warm cloth the stain should start to fade, repeat until it is gone. Windex may also work (or any BLUE window cleaner) however there is a high likelihood that it will discolor. However if you find you have gotten ink on a non porous surface go ahead wit the Windex
- Q:I've had dark blue upholstered sofas and black dogs for years with no problems. The dogs shed, but it doesn't show up on the sofas. However I recently rescued an English Mastiff and she's got light hair, which shows up really bad against the dark colors. - I was told by a leather expert at a class that lighter colors can be dyed darker but there is no way to remove a leather dye and lighten it. You could have a slip cover made, or just out it in the room, and change the fabric one (easier), or have a custom back throw made that essentially covers the back of the sofa in a fabric you pick.

- either that or do what I did and buy easy chairs,side tables,and a sofa with the remote built in. also you can buy remotes that have a recharger much like walk around phones that have a button you can push which causes the remote to make a noice.

- I think you're going to have to sit on a throw pillow or something to keep the leather off of you. Also avoid eating the sofa.
