- Q: The water pump needs to be able to pull up water roughly 8+ feet. Ideally the system should include a filter to eliminate the presence of jellyfish. I need the most cost efficient solar panels with wattage provided. The battery used would be something similar to a deep cycle marine battery. Additionally I must figure out the amphours. Does anyone know where I can look up previously constructed systems or my best method of approach. Whom should I seek help from? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The price range we're looking at is around $1000.
- Dude okorder / You can visit them there, its got more info, i recommend call them and talk to a specialist. Good luck with the sweet aquarium!
- Q: What does 'MCL' Unit stands for water pump. How can convert this Meter head of the pump. For example : 50 MCL to ------- MTR HEAD. What is the formula?

- Q: My truck has been over heating, and I cant figure out whats going on...the only thing that gets really hot is the upper radiator hose, and the radiator....I just noticed there was a plug unhooked from the water pump, what does that do? Or maybe it could be the thermostat? It just overheats, and when I park it, it wont start half the time, usually I can let it cool off and go, but sometimes it just dies and I have to let it cool off and jump it off.
- I doubt its your water pump. That plug may have been just the temperature sensor. Definitely sounds like a bad thermostat. Replace it. They aren't expensive at all. Letting your truck over heat does serious irreversible damage to the engine. You may have significantly shortened the life of your engine already. Just replace the thermostat when the truck is COLD, never when its hot. If it still overheats with the replacement thermostat, your radiator may be clogged.
- Q: i hear water swirl in my dash board when i take off and when i reverse, i heard its the water pump pushing water through the heater core, but how can i fix it.?
- Sounds like you have air in your engine cooling system. Newer cars are notorious for trapping air pockets in the engine when the coolant is changed. Take the car to an auto repair shop and have them bleed the air out of the system.
- Q: Question for you. I'm looking for a 12v (no AC converter, please) water pump to drive up to 4 water misters. Needs to run off the battery, without an AC converter (already found those). The pump will pull from a water reservoir and provide cooling relief on hot days through the misters. BTW... the pump should be reasonably small, limited to a few pounds...If you have any ideas, please advise. Thanks again,Robert
- Again, I'm going to make you work for this one. Call around to junk yards. See if they have any parts you can use. There's a bunch of Pull Apart places where you can look up online to see if they have any particular part you're looking for. I don't know how much a typical automobile water pump weighs, but I don't imagine it would be too big. Ask around. If you know any mechanics, or just people who work on cars as a hobby, they may know. Sorry I'm not much help in the automotive department. I can put gas in it, start it, change my oil, and change a tire. But as far as the rest goes, I don't know too much.
- Q: How long should it take a mechanic to replace a water pump on a 96 dodge intrepid ES with a 3.5L engine? I was given a estimate of 6 hours does it really take that long? at 100.00 a hour I'm not sure my car is worth fixing
- YES! It's driven by the timing belt so make sure they replace that too! edit: everything bill b said is true.....but he's thinking of the 2.7 motor. not the 3.5. Thank you. Your welcome. The labor rate in my shop is $95.00 an hour. Most all basic jobs are rated into a labor time data log by auto manufactuers and used world wide! These labor times stand up in a court of law!!! If it calls for 6.0 hours of labor, and you know I charge $95 an hour, that's $570 plus parts. Some shops charge less per hour and use cheap parts and leave bolts out and your constantly having problems. Some try to charge 8.0 hours for a 6.0 job just to rip you off. Some shops never worked on one and some shops are on there 3rd set of special 3.5 cam holders for doing water pumps and timing belts if you know what I mean!! Always get on the phone and shop around. Call the dealer and ask for the labor time for a particular job if you feel the need to.
- Q: I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX and i recently took it in to have its timing belt and water pump replaced. Since then, I have noticed a change in the cars performance. I have lost both gas mileage and power since i took my car in. The maintenance supposedly took the dealer twelve hours to complete which seemed a little odd to me. Do you think this is linked? I just remember getting a lot more miles to a tank of gas, and my car was about the same speed as a friend of mine's who now smokes me. Thank You.
- 12 hours on a civic DX. I am a honda mechanic and I will say that this job only takes 2 hours, 4 hours if your slow and never done it before. Mind you this includes timing belt, water pump, cam seal, crankshaft seal, serpentine belts, valve cover gasket, spark plugs if needed, Honda coolant, and valve adjustment. If you are 1 tooth off on timing your Honda will run, but it will run very rough. Sounds to me like they may have the timing 1 tooth off, 2 teeth off and the car just wont run and if it does it will barely run. This car needs to be taken back and everything i told you should have been done and done properly. What probably happened is the dealer let an apprentice work on the car, since this civic is the easiest to do a timing belt on. However its still their fault that it was not done properly.
- Q: Where can I get a solar powered water pump for a sprinker? I want the pump to pull water out of a river next to my yard and water my garden and lawn.
- Solar catalog. You will need a whole system, to collect the solar energy in the day and use battery's at night to run the pump,as you would not want to run the sprinkler in the sun light. Also think of elevator storage of the water. the head pressure will help the pump. If you have access to a river think hydro power, also, for cloudy days. Water turbines to generate electric, place under the surface. Get thinking man.
- Q: can a worn water pump make the car idle high while in park when driven for a long period of time......03 grand prix
- The water pump is only an impeller and moves fluid through the engine for the purpose of cooling. With that in mind, no, it should have no effect. Suspect you have a vacuum leak that is causing your high idle, check for a high pitched whistle and when you find it, fix it.
- Q: i drove up a hill which was about a mile and when i got up the hill i drove anther half a mile to my location and as soon as i tuned my car off i notice coolant leak for the reservoir tank and being dumb i took the cap off off and i think you know so i drove it home after letting it return to a lower temp and it didn't run hot it just raised 2 line above the middle marker and i ran it today just to idle and refilled the tank and let it run it didn't leak but the Serpentine belt made a noise not loud but noticeable (could this be a bad water pump and i flushed my radiator before they swapped engine out which was not long ago) the current engine is used and run fine with power and pep
- How Bad did you get burned when you pulled the cap off the HOT Radiator?? Sounds like you need to Boil/Flush Out the cooling system again since the Engine Swap, make sure the Coolant you add is 50%-50% Antifreeze Clean Water, Replace the Belt. is your Radiator Cycling Properly? Does the Belt run the Water Pump or is it run by the timing belt? Year Mileage. Thermostat in the Used engine could be sticking half closed?
