- Q: When replacing the water pump in a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. Old one is loose, I'm about to lower the engine a little to get the water pump out. Before putting the new one on, do I have to do anything with the timing belt/chain?
- Depends on the engine size . If the pump is driven by the timing belt then yes , if the pump is driven by the serpentine belt then no .
- Q: Okay so earlier, I went to go test out my water pump and all on my 66 mustang 302. And I got it up to normal operating temp, and had the rad cap off. I gave it some gas, the coolant level didn't go down, instead it came out the rad pretty badly. I've been having overheating problems, and I have no leaks, i just replaced the thermostat a few days ago, it didn't help. I haven't seen any leaks around the weep hole on the water pump, or noises. Other than a belt that does need to be tightened a bit, you can hear the belt squeling a tiny bit. So do yall think it could be my water pump?
- if it,s circulating then the pump is working. when the water goes down when you give it gas then the pump is drawing it down.
- Q: directions on changing water pump 2001 gmc pickup
- how to change water pump in heat maker boiler
- Q: I would like to know how difficult it is to change a water pump on my mustang? Is it something I can do by myself? I do know about cars and can perform general maintenance, I am not totally ignorant to whats going on underneath the hood of my car I'm just not sure if I have the tools needed and how difficult it is to do. What tools do I need? Do I need a torque wrench? If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks!
- This is a straightforward task that can be difficult for the novice, but it's not impossible. You will need basic automotive hand tools, wrenches, sockets in metric. Also, you will need a good shop manual for this car. A torque wrench is optional, most professional mechanics don't torque the fasteners involved with this job. Take pictures of the engine from various angles, it will help in reassembly. Don't forget to disconnect the battery also. Be certain to draw a diagram of how the serpentine belt(s) are routed around the pulleys, if no such aid exists on the radiator support. By all means buy a reputable brand NEW pump, don't bother with a rebuilt unit. With some mechanical knowledge and basic common sense you can do this, take your time, don't rush. Good Luck !
- Q: What's so good about having a water pump on my stand alone ice maker? What exactly does it do?
- The ones that make cubes, not slices make a sheet of ice by continuously pumping the water over a flat evaporator. Then once the ice builds up it reverses the hot gas and the slab melts off falling on the cutting grid which cuts it in to cubes. Those that operate this way are much faster and produce more ice. No pump, no ice.
- Q: I have a 1.5 horse Power Hit and Miss engine? Is it possible to buy a water pump I could run off of the hit and miss engine that would pump water from a river over a big hill and little ways and into a water tank or is this just a waste of time. How much water could I pump at a time? A trickle or a gush of water? When I say hill I don't mean like a little hill in your yard I mean a hill you have to hike up? If you don't know are there any resources I could access? Where could I buy such a pump if there is one?
- A horse and a half won't do much. You would be better off with a hydraulic ram type pump if you can get about a 10 or 15 foot fall before the ram. It will pump about 4 or 5 times the height of the fall, but in small quantities. It will run 24/7 without gasoline, so it will fill a tank over a long period of time. The railroads used them during the steam era when they had huge water towers out on the plains.
- Q: i dont think that the water pump is out. i have a 88 evinrude outboard and the other day i noticed that the water was barley trickling out the hose. then it just stopped coming out the hose. it still comes out of the exhaust just fine. the motor is not get hot. is it ok if it still comes out the exhaust/ i will attemp to run a wire up in the hose to see if it is clogged later today. what do yous think
- I think you might want to replace the water pump impeller.
- Q: I have 1 92 cadillac sedan deville and I am takin a 12 hour road trip tomorrow and I want to know if my water pump is goin bad or is it the fuel pump? Please help driving by myself and don't wanna get stranded anywhere. thank you in advance
- CAR SHOULD GET HOT FAST,ANTI FREEZE ON FLOOR,BUT NO MATTER WHAT IF IT DONT FEEL RIGHT GO TO YOUR MECHANIC BEFORE ANY LONG DRIVE..MY CAR RUNS PERFECT,STILL BEFORE ANY LONG TRIP I ALWAYS GET MY MECH TO GIVE HER THE ONCE OVER...EVEN IF ITS JUST FOR PEACE OF MIND...
- Q: I have oil all over my water pump. I investigated when I saw a few drops of oil in the garage that showed up every few days. I then saw a drop of clean radiator fluid. Does oil come near or through the water pump? I have a 96 nissan maxima if that helps.
- The first place a car will leak oil is usually the valve covers. Regular maintenance requires valve adjustments, and to do this, the valve covers come off a few times in 10 years. If you have a four syllable motor, the front of the valve cover is right above the water pump, so a valve cover leak would dribble down the water pump. Your water pump could be leaking (if you've never replaced it in the 10 years since your car was made). I'd bet you have both problems. I'm too soon old, and too late smart, so I've let water pumps go because it's only leaking a little. When the shaft begins to get wobbly, it will let loose with a caBANG! and damage something when it flings off the fan. Moral to the story: Replace the water pump, and get a new gasket for the valve covers.
- Q: I am new to saltwater tank, and i what to add a sump to my tank, but I don't know what to add to it. what water pump? do i add the filter to the sump or does the filter stay in the tank.
- you do no longer use siphons to flow water to the sump, you employ an overflow and pipes. the point of having the overflow in a tank with a sump is that the pass between the two tanks would be even. while the water is pumped returned to the tank and reaches a definite point that water will then pass returned to the sump. If the capability will fail then the pump will end working, so no water would be moved returned into the tank, no water will overflow returned. the priority with 2 pumps would be that no 2 pumps are comparable. One pump is 2 hundred gallons consistent with hour, the different is 199, next one is 195 regardless of being from an identical authentic line and type. So in case you have a 2 hundred and 199 GPH you will finally end up with the two the tank or the sump spilling after some hours.
