Q: I purchased the chair about 3-4 yrs ago from Pier 1 Imports and they told me it was discontinued. The chair is called Madison Chair #13010 Fab#9470. It is a paisley arm chair.: You might want to cut a small piece of material from the bottom of the chair and take it to a fabric store and see if they have the same fabric, then you can have a another chair covered in the same fabric. Sometimes if you can find out who the manufacturer of the material is, you can call them and see if they still have it and where you can purchase it. Other than that look on Ebay or Craig's list and see if you can find a match to your chair. Hope this helps.

There are shops which repair hydraulics -- users of hydraulics include auto repair shops (jacks), big rig truckers (many applications), etc. You might want to dismantle the chair yourself and try to find the seals -- they're not hard to install, just hard to get to). It's possible that you might buy a little time by topping off the fluid reservoir in your chair.

Q: Ok, my directors chair which I love so much, has quit. It will not pop up anymore. I guess the shock underneath quit. I have another smaller directors chair, which is just ok. You may be able to replace the seals in the shock, or replace the shock itself. See if you can find the name of the company that made it and the model number and call them about your options. If the shocks are the same size and look the same, you can try switching them.

Do you know where I can find a chandelier and chair/ottoman like shown in the picture?: the chair is probably custom upholstered, so try to find a substitute by asking for black and white chairs from google, etc. Also visit the standard mass merchandisers like Sears, Penney's, etc. the chandelier is easy, find a second hand shop and get one used, even from OKorder! clean it and lightly sand and spray it with a nice black gloss paint. They do that often on HGTV. the standing wall mirror is costly, but finding it is easy, as are the black leaning shelves. Soften the Raspberry shade a little or you'll tire of it. Use lots of white! Use one piece of white furniture all, with black accessories. have fun!
